RED SPOT INSTITUTE ENDORSEMENT FOR CD 14
We are quickly coming to the "TWO DAY WARNING" in the Council District 14 "BLUE MUD BOWL". The two main candidates, Jose "HUIZZY" Huizar, and Alvin "HOMER" Parra have acquitted themselves well in this latest edition of "BLUE MUD SLINGING", that passes for politics as usual, in our little "PUEBLO". A third candidate, Johnny Jimenez, has "smile" his way across the district mostly unnoticed.
What have CD 14 voters learn about the two main antagonists in this race? For Jose Huizar, he takes extended vacations, does not like bureaucratic red tape on home remodeling, and obstructs justice in regards to child molesters. For Alvin Parra, he dosen't has a job, once attempted a coup against the 90032 Neighborhood Council, and is the "HOMER SIMPSON" of L.A. politics.
Notice the lack of discussions on issues such as the following;
1. Gangs
2. Density
3. Open Space Preservation
4. Job Growth and Business Development
5. Education
Where is the vision for the future of CD 14 ? What will become of the old Sears Tower on Soto and Olympic ? Will we keep the Southwest Museum, and it's collection in Highland Park? What innovated ideas will be espoused to deter youths from gangs? How can City Hall and its local councilman promote redevelopment in areas such as Boyle Heights? If you are scratching your head in wondering what I am talking about, then blame your candidates for not sharing their ideas on these projects. Instead they have been fixated on the "PARKE SKELTON DOCTRINE" of campaigning. If you are the front runner like Jose Huizar, "STICK TO THE TALKING POINTS". If you are Alvin Parra, then "ATTACK, ATTACK, and ATTACK".
We at the RED SPOT INSTITUTE, taking into consideration the positives and negatives ask you to do the following on election day. Take a pen or pencil to your polling place and write in the "ORIGINAL RED HEAD OF REASON IN CD 14" That would be none other than ART SNYDER. (NOW TAKE HANDS AWAY FROM HEART OR GUNS).
What we need in CD 14 is someone who values "CONSTITUENT SERVICES". Who remembers the days of the "IN BOX" of constituents requests, and the "OUT BOX" of a timely response? To former Councilman Snyder, I hope we did not cause you to drop your drink, with our surprise. But CD 14 needs someone to bring back the days of speedy, receptive government. Plus you do speak the native tongue, "Que no" ? In addition, our current form of "PAY TO PLAY" government, is what you did so well.
In the words of the "GOOD MAYOR" blog away dumdums and remember to vote on Tuesday. No satire needed for that message.

Art Snyder was nearly recalled twice and ended up as a slimy lobbyist gun-for-hire who not too many years after leaving office got hit with one of largest fines in state history for campaign corruption and vote buying among former council buddies and colleagues.
Is that what "Red Spot" stands for? Happy to look the other way to gross, unapologetic corruption like no one has seen since -- as long as he fills the potholes (on the streets of his supporters)?
People who knew Snyder also knew he had a wonderfully "Red line" reason for how to spend council discretionary funds - simply put, ignore the poorer (browner) neighborhoods, thay can't contribute to my campaigns and most of them never vote anyway.
Every CD14 councilmember since Snyder has been worked against a deficit of infrastructure improvements in the southern 2/3 of the district to make up for this over-attention to the gentrifying northeast.
May Art Snyder rot in hell. (Not soon, let him live in misery for while longer with his 19th wife, but . . . someday). He will, no doubt.
Red spot is very helpful in continuing the GOP caricature of being mostly white, w -- a welcome addition to all the other out-of-touch "good 'ol boys" blog that Mayor Sam's has now become.
You are who you idolize. Art Snyder? Jesus H. Cristo, why not just go with Strom Thurmond!

Some people just don't get humor and satire.

To use satire in this case, you would have had to assume that most of the people that could read this knew what a slime-ball Art Snyder was/is.
Since he's been out of office 2-3 decades already, those people would have had to be mostly over the 40, probably closer to 50.
The average age of a political blogger (or any blogger) is nowhere near 50. Half that would be be a better guess.
If that was satire, it was so poorly planned and badly executed, that the real humor is you believing you're "funny" in some perverse way.
NOW I'm finding it amusing.
Rule #1 in "comedy" and satire. Know your audience.

Mr. Snyder did more for the "Brown" of the city that you could ever imagine... You don't know what you're talking about...
Oh ya, and he presides happily now with only his third wife, not 19th.
At the very least do your homework before trashing someones name.
