Jamie Cordaro For Council

I first met Jamie Cordaro about four years ago when he was a candidate against Wendy Greuel and Tony Cardenas to fill the vacated seat of Joel Wachs (oh God how we could use him now) who resigned from the Council to take a job in New York. Because of Cordaro's impressive showing for a grass roots candidate, the election was thrown into a run-off between Greuel and Cardenas. Cordaro through his support behind Greuel helping her slide to victory

Five years later Cordaro is back seeking to oust Cardenas from the 6th District Council seat that was moved from West LA to the Valley (probably as a consolation prize for Cardenas).

Most community leaders in the 6th District are dismayed by a lack of progress and leadership in the District. Cardenas has been more satisfied with photo ops and press release legislation than engaging the community. Citizens who hope for more dialog from their Councilman are routinely told by Cardenas to "call my office" rather than have one on ones with him.

And the most recent example of Cardenas' failed leadership came just yesterday when the Councilman attempted to sideline the San Fernando Valley Fair allegedly as a political favor to 7th District Candidate Richard Alarcon, leading fair organizers to move to the only possible site available to them in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Zuma Dogg makes an excellent case why Cardenas should not be re-elected
, and I join with Zuma in supporting James "Jamie" Cordaro for the 7th District Seat. Jamie's combination of real world business experience, civic involvement and longtime residency in the District make him the perfect candidate for the job. Cordaro indeed will make the communities in his District once again a great place to live, play, work and shop. We urge your support of Jamie Cordaro.

Big ZD hear Tony V secretly wants Jamie to win, too. (Maybe it's not even secret.) Now that Padilla is gone, Cardenas is the lone wolf councilmember who has strayed from mayor mcmuppet. maybe antonio is mad because cardenas' jack move to have $500 million bond be "negotiated" instead of taking the lowest rate -- so he could give a little something-something back to his homie.

Basically, Cardenas succeeded from the mayor's posse, the way the valley is about to succeed from Los Angeles.

Anyway, yeah...ZD heard Antonio wants Jamie to win. On the realest, dough.

I don't know jack about the CD races or Cardenas, and probably nobody else in this town would if it were'nt for da' cru here at Mayor Sam---
But I do know Jamie Cordaro, and he is the real deal- on the street-meet the people- alderman style kinda guy.
Yeah- he was at the AB 1381 meeting like I was - but to point out some missing pieces like real vocational education, job training and student motivation. You wanna fix some of the valley gang problem?- "Nothin stops a bullet like a job."

ZD we're even! We disagree on the LAUSD and agree on Cordaro!

Not only are we subjected to Tony Cardenas, and his blatant disregard for his constituents (that aren't special interests) but to his staff as well. Do any of you know his chief of staff? Does thug come to mind? The others are borderline, when they're behaving.
