This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

What a show!
Any royalties paid 4 Lennon song?

Its nice to see someone who has done something for CD14 (Parra) rather than watch Huizar take credit and ride on everyone elses coat tales, (Villarigosa and Pacheco) all while Huizar is asking forgiveness for being "new" and not experienced.

What a sham!!!! This is backfiring on Alvin the crook. IT is being e-mailed with reasons why Alvin has hurt the community more then anyone. It also states what he did not only to an opponent but to his family and good people who were helping less fortunate kids with a scholarship fund. Alvin is a joke. Maybe that's why he's been hiding out and not attending any meetings. Now all of a sudden Mayor Sam is posting instead of Zuma. Could it be all the rumors about Zuma being paid off by Alvin are true????

The funniest part might be that all that stuff he's hawking in East Los Angeles (landscaping at City Terrace and Eastern, the East LA County Hall, the gold line stop in front of Kaiser) are **not even in the district**, but gullible folks in Northeast LA won't know any better.

WOW! Alvin's promotion of The Torch Foundation opens up curiosity on what else he'll pimp.
Another Cult.

Does Gloria Molina know he's taking credit for her hard work?

Delusional

All these ideas where not Alvin nor Gloria's. They were the brainchild of the architects at Barrio Planners. All Alvin did was attend the meetings as Gloria's rep. All Gloria did was funnel the money once her husband got on the payroll.

Yup, agreed
Alvin is delusional.

Will a Barrio Planner please step up and rebuke Alvin claim to credit

Imagine Alvin not paying Yoko for use of "Imagine-Lennon song" for political propaganda?
"Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world..."
Greedy Alvin, pay up!

Alvin has on his web site he's been a community leader for so many years. That's a crock. He hasn't done a thing. He couldn't even run a simple neighborhood council meeting without acting like a crybaby and was very immature. People in the audience were shocked at how horribly a grown man could behave. This is his character and no one wants any part of it. Why doesn't Alvin list his supporters on his web site??

Actually, for 8:38am, there were acknowdgements that the improvements were done in the County's area and part of the idea was to compare approaches to governments.
The acknowledgments at the end showed a time period that Parra was working for the County Supervisor, as well as many of the places shown being in the County jurisdiction as E.L.A. largely is.
The Huizar supporters and Parra haters, some being in both categories, still aren't looking at what could have helped the voters. All the voters, the gullible ones and those examining matters with scrutiny, could have benefitted from debate forums with all the candidates.
Councilman Huizar should have been able to handle this task and not treat the district's voters with such contempt, no matter how much disdain he may have for his opponents. A debate can provide opportunities to the public to hear first-hand some direct responses to views on issues and positions. It can provide an opportunity for immediate rebuttal by the candidates to falsehoods or misstatement, as well, which would have generated some intense interest in these events.
So it's the voters that are coming up shortchanged, and the incumbent could have changed this.

Hmmmm, all that great work on behalf of the county supervisor, and she STILL won't endorse the "Homer Simpson of L.A. Politics" -- what's up with that?
Gloria has always been fiercely loyal to people who actually do assist her, but STILL no endorsement for Alvin the Chipmunk??
Supv. Molina is virtually untouchable by L.A. City's Latino powerbase - doesn't need Villaraogosa or Huizar for much of anything, in fact they need her more than the reverse -- but she STILL doesn't endorse Uncle Al, the child-molester-chasing kiddies pal.
What's missing from this equation?
Something tells me GM is also a so-called "Parra Hater" or else all he ever really was is what he's been in the City in recent years, a "gopher" - not a chipmunk. Now trying to act like he was running the county's business when he was really just folding up chairs after the event.

Who's "JuanPollo" and why didn't Parra spend another couple pennies and get someone to edit the video so it doesn't start with the last frames of the family outing video he accidentally taped over.
DOH!

Gloria fiercely loyal to her supporter - yeah tell that to Nick Pacheco in 1999 when Gloria endorsed Victor Griego who she hated instead of Nick who she liked. She endorsed Victor because unlike Nick, Victor and Antonio promised contracts to Ron, her husband.
And if Gloria were so loyal, what ever happened to her original, talented staff - all gone!

Looks like a great video to me. I hope it is truthful if Alvin pulls off an upset. I don't know how Alvin was on the day to day operations but he was of great help to my institution with Gloria when we experienced a problem. He was sharp, effective and responsive. Anyway good luck and may god blees you all in the 14th on this election day.

The multiple uses of the Lennon song is copyright infringement. And, Alvin loves to say that he wants to be like Art Snyder, so good luck with the heavy fines/jail time, Alvin!
