Friday Thread: You Pick, They Shovel

Today, you pick the topic. Teacher's not in class today, so your comments may make it up quicker than usual.

I could tell you how agonizingly slanted another mayoral PR piece in today's fishwrap is, but this happens on such a regular basis now I think it's no longer noteworthy. Suffice it to say they do more shovelling than all the stable boys in all the horse stalls in America.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen (removes hat and places it over heart):

My absence is excusable, I have been in meetings and conducting business. I will say that in reviewing the election results, we are now chained to an oar on the ship of the damned. And we have nobody but ourselves to blame, savvy?

Congratulations to the winners, and all of them must be very happy knowing that they and their staff are safe and secure for now. However sooner or later people will wake up and realize that they have indeed been snookered. At least Dick Mountjoy didn't prevail.

first subject - homeless on skid row: I do NOT see the influx ending soon, so before we construct 'affordable' housing and line more pockets with gold, this city needs to construct an area or develop land somewhere to be a permanent 'skid row' of sorts, otherwise people will ALWAYS be camped on those city blocks forever. no amount of prop H's will actually stop the process which is creating these people.
this IS urgent, otherwise downtown Los Angeles will forever be tainted as a viable clean prospective investment for anyone.

There are some unused remote sites the govt. isn't using any more, Manzanar, Tule Lake, Poston, Heart Mountain, etc. How do you propose that we keep the homeless confined to your proposed area and wandering back to their old hood? Sounds like the making of a concentration camp.

MEMO TO THE "LA ANTONIA TIMES"

"DANGERS OF SCRIBEGASMS"

PUBLISHER HILLAR,
please put "P.R. HACK", err, reporter DUKE HELFAND on prohibition from the "WRITE TO PLAY INCENTIVE PROGRAM". "LITTLE DOOKIE" has been spending too much time with his "BUNK BUDDY" (OLD SUMMER CAMP TERM), "HIS POLLONESS". How can you tell?? Well, read "LITTLE DOOKIE's" SCRIBEGASM on the new clout of "HIS POLLONESS" after this weeks Mid-term elections. one can painfully visualize the "MULTIPLE SCRIBEGASMS" that "LITTLE DOOKIE" was experiencing as he penned his gushing puff piece on the rise of "HIS POLLONESS",in the national DUMMYCRATS INNER CIRCLE. The "CLIMAX" came with "HIS POLLONESS being called the "LATINO BARAK OBAMA" AAAAAAWWWWWWWWNNNNNN!!!! YYEESSSSS!!
Now I hope "LITTLE DOOKIE" has a strong heart after that.

THOUGHT TO PONDER
With all the speculation about the going ons at "THE OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET". Whether BROAD BURKLE, GEFFIN, or "BIG TRIBUNE" own the fish wrap, the only thing that will change the conditions, is a return to local base, objective reporting that is free of the Liberal bias that is killing today's print media.

DEFINING "SCRIBEGASM"
SCRIBEGASM is P.R. driven writings that our suppose to be consider objective journalism

Again, here we go again. Taking credit for other peoples work.

Barak Obama is Barak Obama.

Polloraigosa is no Barak Obama. One day when he grows up, maybe he can be a third of what obama is today.

homeless will go to these sites if there is clean running water, bathrooms of sorts, and shelter, also they will know its a safe place from arrest.

its all about encouraging people to take responsibility, as opposed to forcing people, which results in resentment animosity and ultimate rejection of the proposal

Good evening ladies and gentlemen (removes hat): Yes, Mr. Padilla won. It's called a mutiny. Makes for a great movie, savvy?

Safe from arrest? So let's say you are one of the drug users/dealers, whores, etc. that already hang on skid row what's stopping you from gravitating to this new safe haven yourself? Maybe we can issue membership cards like Costco.

What would it accomplish except create a self governed colony of the damned? Who's going to pay for all of the services that already exist on skid row to move to this new homeless utopia?

WTF, unlike ZD, all you're about is spouting inane, unsubtantiable rhetoric just to hog as much camera time for your own vanity in the name of citizen's rights. Except you don't/won't do the actual work to solve the problems you find. Mainly because you're solutions that you think are "Out of the Box" or obvious are impossible tasks. Why ZD decides to keep ties with you is beyond me.
