Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Thursday

Mayor Villaraigosa will announce Thursday that the investment in affordable housing leveraged by the City of Los Angeles' Housing Trust Fund will reach $ 1 billion.

Zach at the In The Oaks has a great article "Sherman Oaks is Not Near Los Angeles," even though it really is. Ask someone who lives in the San Fernando Valley where they live and you'll hear Pacoima or Studio City or West Hills. Los Angeles is "over the hill." But in the Big Apple, even if you live in Queens or Brooklyn or Manhattan, you're in New York.

Full Disclosure Network presents a six minute Video News Blog featuring a chronology of events leading up to the abrupt termination (by Councilman Bernie Parks) of the Emmy Award winning public affairs program from the L. A. CityView Cable Channel 35 last June. Host Leslie Dutton appeals to viewers of the program on public cable channels and the Internet to join in the campaign to find out the real reasons why the program was terminated.

Our thoughts go out to blogger "Video" Louis Elovitz on the recent passing of his mother, Tillie, a longtime North Hollywood resident, at the age of 89. Video Louis has a great piece on his blog about some of the old airports that used to exist in the Valley including commuter helicopter service.

Will Tofu Girl be there? The 11th Annual L.A. Tofu Festival will be held in Little Tokyo this weekend.
