Jack Weiss - Ass Clown of the week

It's back! The Ass-Clown of the week Award.

This weeks winner --- Wacko Jack Weiss

Jack won for two separate catagories:

- Best display of hypocracy for demanding an ethics review of NC'S while he has 32 ethical violations against him. Now that takes balls.

- Best desperation tactic by injecting gay marriage into a discussion about City Council file numbers. This you just have to see to believe.

See why Clowncilman Jack Weiss wins Ass Clown of the week...

Now half way through this Gem we find out that well not only did Wacko Jacko go to the well of gay marriage but his claim was, you guessed it... FALSE!

Listen carefully and you will hear a Highland Park NC member scream "What!?" and then "That's not true." Wacko doesn't like the response he is getting so he sics the police to quiet the NC member.

and this clown wants to lecture the NC's on ethics???

This was an interesting day. Weiss tried to call-out Highland park, La Bomge tried to call out Jayson Lyon and Perry tried to call out Brady Westwater.

Someone passed around a bowl of Wheaties in council chambers.

Weiss played the Gay card trying to get Rosendahl... what a stupid shit.

Hypocracy cuts both ways on the ethics issues. NC's and its leaders should welcome an ethical review. Is it an attack by Weiss on NC's? Well yes! Is it a bad thing NO!

Alger and others should open their books with a smile and stop all this handwringng.

If you idiots are going to imply Weiss is unethical and post the finding of his investigation, you should read it. It indicates these were minor errors at best and indicated no real intent to do anything wrong.

Whatever 6:27 Weiss-Ass staffer.

I couldn't believe the hypocritical statements the Clowncil members were making. Fruity Wesson stating that this should not be rushed through even after Hahn said it has been in committee for over a year. Then for the ones opposing talking about allowing the ethics committee to review to show transparency. WHAT A BUNCH OF CLOWNS. All the arguments they made yesterday are the same ones WE made on them rushing the term limit extentsion.

NC's made a very strong showing yesterday in council and you bet your ass those Clowncil members are now nervous cause they didn't pass this. Go after them and campaign HARD TO VOTE NO ON TERM LIMITS.

MAYOR SAM WHERE IS OUR T-SHIRTS WITH NO ON CLOWNCIL MEMBERS?

Powers for local councils sidelined (Daily News Aug 17 2006)

Oh, now I get it! On the one hand, City Council delays delays delays on Neighborhood Council issues -- claiming "special interest" [Smith]. On the other hand, the term limit extension issue goes directly to the ballot. I do believe I now have an accurate picture; issues that benefit the City Clowncilmembers are deemed priority over constituency needs. Now isn't that special!

Do you NC Nimby-meisters, elected by MAYBE 100-200 votes each, REALLY want to go to war with City Council. . . a bunch of guys and girls who (at worst) got oh, MAYBE, a BILLION (make that a GAZILLION) times as many votes in your own neighborhoods as you did?

This isn't David v. Goliath, geniuses. . . this is Goliath v. the sludge that used to be a snail, now under Goliath's sandals.

Make war, and you'll kill off what little "advisory" status the good NCs have earned by diligent work in their communities.

Hardly an NC in the city has even begun to fulfill it's OWN mandates, played well with others, or even spent half of it's own funds wisely. A few potted plants on street corners, and sponsorship of an art festival, and you ALL think you're qualified to tie up busy City Council agendas the way the fringe lunatics tie up public comment screaming about NO PAPER TOWELS IN CITY WASHROOMS!

Don't be stupid, you morons. Play in your own kiddie pool, until you don't NEED the water wings there, anymore. THEN maybe you can wade into the real business of the city, slowly, and without pissing off the real swimmers there, first.

Signed. . . an ELECTED NC BOARD MEMBER

4:49 anon - For the record, my books have been opened for some time now as I, Jayson Lyon, Jeff Jacoberger and others are required to file 700 forms for other reasons.

11:55 am I doubt your actually an NC member, if you are you shouldn't be with that attitude.

It isn't that NC's are afraid to open their books, not many developers shower us with gifts, lobbying jobs etc. It is that this HAS ALREADY BEEN LOOKED AT by Ethics and they raised not a single concern.

This was Jack Weiss throwing mud in the water and then complaining he couldn't see clearly.

There is no legitimate reason why the City Council shouldn't support this and because of that it will eventually pass.

Even if a lobbyist paid me, Kim Thompson and Jayson Lyon $1 Million to "create a file number" so what? He would then have to lobby the City Council chair to agendize it and 8 members of the City Council to pass it, and the Mayor not to veto it.

The City Council really wants to discuss special interest power in NC's??? Which are they the pot or the kettle?

They are the pot, AND the kettle in this kitchen.

YOU, however, are the Easy-Bake Oven, Mr. Alger. . . just a dim-bulb pretending you can "cook" up anything of value to the city.

LUCKILY, "my attitude" is exactly what got me elected in my NC, overwhelmingly... an attitude of working WITH city council and not against them.

Try it sometime... it JUST might work.

But then, you have a different agenda, don't you. If things don't "work" someone may suggest you replace the cooks in the kitchen. Stash you ambitions someplace, and roll up the sleeves of your outdated mock-turtle. There's work to be done, and it has nothing to do with going to WAR with the only people that are actually ELECTED by the masses to make it work.

When Several NC members including myself brought an idea of Auditing the DWP to Greig Smiths office, we worked WITH him to get that passed.

When Jayson Lyon had the idea of Council File Numbers we all worked WITH City Council to get it through several committees over 18 months.

Contrary to what you read, it isn't my desire to "go to war" against anyone. I, nor anyone else attacked the City Council, they attacked us so save your personal insults and false innuendo for someone else.

The agenda I have is the advancement of citizen participation and reduce or eliminate special interests influence over City Hall. That is why I announced I was NOT running for City Council but apparently you feel the need to continue to act as if I have some other agenda.

I have been doing the "work" for years with the DWP, the MOU, the Council File Issue, Eminent Domain, the NC Congress, Wal Mart in Northridge... I could go on and on.

So if you want to criticize someone for not working, better find yourself a different target. As I said in my email this morning, We do not seek, nor shall we provoke a battle with City Council, but we shall not back down from one either.

Searching for a peaceful solution while not backing down from a fight is called leadership my friend. I stand up for what I believe, but people such as yourself who have to hide behind anonymous wouldn't know anything about that... would you?

Frankly if Jim didn't take the helm, the NC's would fire back anyway just not as organized.

So is G.W., Alger. So is W. "This is hard woork" he says.

Make note people, these blog-head gadflies, Alger, Wacko Moore, Zuma Bitch, and Chief Parker before them are ALL the most thin-skinned fake pols in the city.

They wouldn't last one week taking even the public comment abuse the city's real leaders put up with. They can't even stand to have someone speak "ill" of them in front of 15 readers on this dead-still blog, without having to take 30 minutes to craft a detailed response, defending their On-her.

Two words, dudes, "Ama Chures." They make Jack Weiss look calm and well-researched. (If the city council is the "Clowncil" these doofi are the first wave of the 3-dozen midget clowns in the miniature cars.)

OK that was funny. Haven't been called Richie Cunningham since High School.

This has turned into an interesting thread. Of course 905 of the posts I supposedly made here I didn't. I know this is hard to believe but I do have better things to do than hang out on Mayor Sam all day.

So, supposedly I am a sellout, evil, and a war monger who cares about nothing other than himself, and if I dare correct any of those assertions then I have a thin skin and can't stand criticism.

Nice.

I don't mind criticism for things I actually do but I prefer educated debate and discussion. Notice I was one of the few that called on Zuma Dogg to tone it down not because I disagree with him but because the rhetoric does nothing for the debate.

Of course your not truly interested in legitimate discussion your interested in asking questions like "so when did you stop beating your wife".

When you wish to have a valid discussion on the issue, let me know. If not, then stop pretending to care.

I am not talking ranters like ZumaDog -- I am talking about folks who took time out of their work day and sat through all of those agenda items on the consent agenda and addressed agenda issues after enduring hours and hours of delay. Weiss is not the only offender on this but when he calls folks "out" then he can expect to be called out himself. btw, the Alger string is so redundant that my eyes are rolling back in my head. August 18, 2006 5:08 PM

Without going precinct-by-precint with a ruler and magnifying glass, somewhere between 1200 and 1300 (or, roughly 15-20 times as many as voted in the NC elections). And that's just counting Smith's votes. Add in his opponent (Korenstein), and that election to election (oranges to oranges) comparison means the city councilmember from that NC area has 30+ times the voter mandate as that NC board (most areas is closer to 10-times, city councilmember to NC board).
