This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

I'm glad you do, 10:58, bad grammar and all.
They show the last four months, because that excludes the Mayors race, when comments were 4-fold here, compared to now. If you think the "visitors" are trolling though here to see the dead mayors spin a paragraph or two regurgitating local media stories, you're whacked.
The attraction has always been what other visiting bloggers could add by way of inside information in response to the relatively uncreative main threads, now posted by people with few if any real "inside" points of information to draw on.
Now it's just people returning to the cold, stale scene of an ancient "crime" hoping lightning will strike the same place again.
If they make it through January, I'll be shocked.

This is the place for LA reporters to find stories. A lot of bloggers know what's going on in city hall and LA politics before the reporters. So glad they run with what they read. This is the best place for 1st ammendment rights and freedom of speech.
Mayor Sam you've done a great job!!! Keep it up.

the reason the comments were four fold during the debate was because trujillo and hahn were posting anon comments. dont you think that lots of folks pass stuff onto the mayors sam for example dirty laundry cause IT wont let them post or they dont want to get cauhgt, so they email from home or maybe call

I think that all's fair in love and politics and I'm sure volunteers from all of the various campaigns had people posting their scoop on the blog. To say that the candidates came on and did it themselves, I think is way off base.
I would guess more that staffers showed them the blogs a couple of times, but doubt it carried a LOT of weight with the candidates. The staffers knew the importance.
Thinking about Jim Hahn himself blogging here is pretty funny. Because it's so outrageous.

Hey Mayors: What did you do to fall off the map? Someone should go check to see if these guys are still alive...
