LA Times Looks at Local Blogs
The Weekend edition of Calendar in the Times has a look at blogging in LA, with a brief mention of Mayor Sam. The print edition gives us a little more ink than what's online.
This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

Nice job?! I hope you're kidding.
Looks like another Times guy relied on one kiddie source for all his "research". No LAist, no Rodger Jacobs, not even LAVoice, let alone Cathy Seipp or Emmanuelle or Matt Welch or Tony Pierce or Joe Scott. No mention of LA-based national level blogs like HuffPo and Marc Cooper and Pajamas, and no mention of Crooks and Liars, etc. Can understand that---but no mention of BoifromTroy? Hello!
Jessica Ritz is easily one of the City's best food critics, no mention of LARitz.info though.
I do love the fact however that LAObserved is twinned with rightwing nutjob Patterico, however. That's about right. But in the end, it's kind of like "Outside the Tent"---more bitchslap than journalism.

Joseph,
I am so glad you questioned whether or not andrew was kidding. I always wonder that. I wouldn't go to his blog again. He seems out of it. I assume he is here because he is jealous of the MS publicity.
