as part of an ongoing effort to reduce Los Angeles' dependency on landfills, the City Council voted Friday to spend $1.1 million to study alternate ways to dispose of trash.
Let's count the amount of money these idiots have spent on studies, and who got the contracts for the studies? It would be interesting to see who the donors are and to who's campaigns...
I have a problem with this... If Villaraigosa would had NEVER said he would abolish corruption at City Hall upon his win, I'd just shrug this off. On the other hand, he did say he would stop it, and we find ourselves viewing an atrocious amount of new corruption present at city hall.

This is what I think...the Mailers Alvin sent were damaging to Huizar. It reminded us that people who hold grudges that far back cannot move on in life. It reminded me I would have a stalled government with Huizar. How can we move forward if we have people working for Huizar that are not willing to move on, accept they are wrong for the betterment of all.
The David Sanchez mailers. That one hurt, and it hurt a lot! I understand there are corrupt officials from all ethnic backgrounds not just Latinos, but he put it in our faces, right at our doorstep. And you know whats worst? We knew it all along, but are afraid to speak out and get blacklisted (like the U.S. did to those artist who were accused of supporting communism). Anyways, to see someone as David take extreme measures to do this, shows how we as a community have to wake up and pick our leaders with more intelligence and research. It confirmed our many suspicions about a few in Latino leadership.
Finally we have the Crystal Arceo mailers. This created the most impact. It confirmed David's mailers, what people have been saying at meetings, and our own assumptions to be true and with evidence. Crystal is young, but I know this, she has guts! It takes a young girl sick and tired of career politicians to wake us up. The career politicians who have stepped all over her and the community repeatedly. She is sick and tired. Especially 160 new schools and our Latino leadership failed to bring a new school to Boyle Heights or El Sereno. What does this say? Our kids have filthy bathrooms and did you see the picture of the Huizar developed bathroom at LAUSD HQ? It is a shame. It would be against my moral judgement to vote for Huizar. If you want a future for your students, community and future Latino leadership vote for any other candidate.

Is Parke Skelton another UCLA drop out?
Give me a break. Now Antonio is trying to take credit for Moon Canyon. There he is AGAIN on TV at Moon Canyon. Agreed poster. Huizar was school board president for 4 years. Yet, he didn't do anything for the schools in his own backyard. LAUSD has spent millions on themselves. Jose is a bought, paid for and controlled man of Antonio. Put him on the list of all the council members who had NO guts and endorsed him. This is the reason to vote for Pacheco. He's his own man with leadership and a vision. He has a record of accomplishments.

I was on my way to Pacheco's office to volunteer, but I saw a Huizar sign and changed my mind!

Pacheco is about to end his too long and unhappy career in politics in CD14.
He will movc away and take his buddies Elisio and Torres III and look for some other place where the people do not know him so well, and do not know about the slimy underbelly methods that he has employed in the past.
Huizar will bring his intelligence and relationships to bear on helping CD 14 get the kind of attention it can enjoy by having a Councilman and a Mayor that get along.
Jim Hahn punished CD14 while Antonio was Councilman, always fearing that his success would propel him forward and he'd run against him in 2005.

Fortunately for CD14, many remember the abuse that Pacheco dished out to constituents and non-constituents alike at the Council and in daily operations. Those people who were treated so badly will come out and vote AGAINST Pacheco this Tuesday.

Today's LA Times has a quote from Huizar - Leadership. "When people ask me what the difference is between me and Nick, I say it's leadership style," Huizar said. "I'm able to work well with others to get things done. He's a rock thrower."
What he fails to mention is the real difference is simply leadership. Pacheco is a leader. Style and leadership are two different things.
Huizar says he's able to "work well with other to get things done". Sounds like an LAUSD report card comment from when I was in school. What that really means is that he kisses AV's ass and does not really know what he's doing.
Pacheco makes decisions and that's what leaders do. If throwing rocks means making decisions and living with the consequences, I'll take that over kissing somoene's ass just to appease them.
That's a Skelton scripted sound bite - "he a rock thrower." And this from a guy who just finised bashing the Mothers of East L.A. on with lies, again.

Huizar has not been to one CD14 WITHOUT ANTONIO. He had the nerve to be at Moon Canyon yesterday, the project Pacheco started. Antonio and Jose have to hold each others balls cause no one knows Jose. Antonio is campaigning for Jose and Juan Jimenez states it correctly that Antonio is having all these events in CD14 right now to help Jose. Now if that doesn't show Jose's low man character and lack of leadership. MAYOR FRANK GET THE CRYSTAL ARCEO MAILER AND POST. SOMEONE SEND IT..CRYSTAL IS HAVING IT DISTRIBUTED ALL OVER CD14.
Sleazy Huizy supporters are the same Antonio lovers. They can't debate on issues because they're not intelligent or informed so they personally attack others and the candidates. How can the men who blog here support a candidate like Jose who hasn't done anything by himself during this election? How can they support a man like Jose who is being controlled by Antonio and endorsed by 10 councilmembers who were too afraid of Antonio to go against him. They have said they had no choice. We have a choice on Tuesday to exercise our voice and not vote for Jose.

BOY, are you whacked out on something. Nearly ALL of the improvements that came into this district the previous two years came THROUGH city departments and many of those were STILL held up by the incompetence of AV's staff.
Tons of money in LABest school programs, just one example, while VILLARAIGOSA sat on nearly $1.5 million in council discretionary funds and never distributed it to district programs that needed and wanted it.

Groups were told this over and over and then finally, when Pacheco got tired of hearing the crap he got an accounting of district funds from Chick's office and found out that not ONLY have AV not doled out most of what was allotted during his half(assed) term, but he even sat on funds left OVER from Pacheco's term, that Nick had promised to groups before he left. Here's that rundown:

(Translated: AV saved it up so that if Huizar gets elected he can dole it all out in the time left in that short term and end up looking like a HERO, for easy reelection.).
That's playing MAJOR politics with city money. Communities suffer, so AV can keep a "hero" slush fund for his boy.
Yes, most of Huizar's "supporters" are the same as AV's, but they're not as rabily in love with the weak little sister as they were with AV, so they're having to be coerced and their arms twised even more to get them out to vote. That's supplemented by paid walkers and union money, to force the issue.
How profitable is it to slime your opponent and try to destroy a public servant's life and reputation.
Skelton's company has already been paid nearly $40,000 from Huizar's campaign funds, and the final reports are not even in yet -- MORE than the average household income for a full year in CD14 -- paid out by Jose "I'll run a clean campaign" Huizar to produce slimey, lying HIT pieces.
The rich get richer, the poor get lied to and have their mailboxes filled with slime.
But really, he's probably do it for free... if AV asked.

Haven't you guys figured out that Antonio loves conflicts between his friends so it gives common working and middle class folks likes us thinking and believing that he's WORKING. So that in the end he comes into the scene and the cameras like Prince Valliant and saves his maiden Los Angeles, and recieve his photo-ops.
Think of this administration as watching the WWE, you know it's fake but you go along with the story line because it's entertaining. All the while we're watching, he's raping the city blind with unneccessary Union Raises, appointing friends and high paying contributors into commissioners and showing no backbone when it comes to tough decisions.

People are now confused and think the Huizsr mailers are the Arnold vote no mailers. The people who were going to vote NO on Prop 75 will now vote YES cause Antonio's face on Measure Y is telling them with another Antonio face. DUHHHHHHH!!!

These bitter folks all remind me of the ones who said that AV was going to lose. While Huizar's supporters are actually calling and walking, Huizar-haters (actually Antonio-haters) are spending time posting here. I saw both campaigns this weekend, and Huizar's going to win for sure. Pacheco is headed for a surprise in Boyle Heights. Slimy stuff pulled this morning at the church, where Nick's hired teenage thugs swore at old ladies coming out of services. Real classy. And effective.
Lastly, Padilla didn't cut any deal for the mayor. The mayor's endorsing Cindy. Garcetti has known Huizar from before they were in politics. And if Reyes is helping, that is sad for Pacheco, as he helped get Reyes elected.
And the Crystal mailers are the result of extortion--Pacheco helped her dad raise money in exchange for hate mailers (that when I walked door to door turned more people TO Huizar than AGAINST) against Huizar.

The flier states she spent the money she was saving for her sister's 15th birthday celebration to pay for them.

They're effective because anyone who's undecided at this point--lots of folks--is simply jaded on politics, and the flyers spoke straight to why: the "arrogance of power" stigma of Latino politicans in the 14th. The best mailer of the whole campaign, and the single most influential message, and it came from someone who's not even in the hunt.

This otherwise readable and informative blog is constantly interrupted by Pacheco supporter negative posts about Huizar and Villaraigosa.
Either way the election goes, at least this will be the be either the end, or the beginning of the end.
Pacheco or Huizar may win outright, and we can start thinking about something else; or, they'll be in a run off and we will at least know the final result at the end of January.
Pray with me that it is the former.

You should be telling your candidate Huizar to go on the Dr. Phil show and find out why he's so insecure. Antonio has to be at his side every minute or he can't function. Tomorrow nite Pacheco will be with the REAL PEOPLE in the community, grass root supporters, non profits many seniors. Huizar will be with UNIONS, DEVELOPERS, ANTONIO PEOPLE, CD14 STAFFERS who have campaigned for him all along.

I've heard nothing but positive comments about the Crystal mailer, and they aren't turning people towards Huizar. That puppet piece by David Sanchez sure hit the spot this weekend - Mayor Frank, have you seen this one?
I saw Huizar's campaign office. All those "volunteers" and not one smile. And Nick isn't only operating out of his campaign offices - moron!

An ambulance chaser in CD1 has already been PROMISED the LAUSD position by Mayor Villaraigosa. Assuming he can pull off Huizar in CD1, that MAY be the first promise he's made in the last year he can actually keep. (Except this guy will make Huizar seem polished and experienced).

Of course the poster "in the know" about who will replace Huizar is afraid to name names. He/she would be guessing.
LAUSD has no idea yet what they will do with Jose's seat if he wins. I don't believe that Jose or AV get to appoint someone.
I don't think an appointment is the route that the District will take given the time left on Huizar's term. They will call an election for June.

There are many ways to "appoint" -- one is to endorse, have your council and mayoral staff help him in every possible way (which he HAS done) -- inc. having him up FRONT cutting ribbons for city projects he didn't have ANYTHING to do with and that AREN'T even in his LAUSD district (dog parke, Moon Canyon -- both in TOKOFSKY's area, and completely unrelated to schools), and tell all the people who owe YOU favors -- or want YOU to owe them favors, to pony up big cash.
Without AV's endorsement, which lead DIRECTLY to the other CMs falling in line and brought in half the money, easily, Huizar could easily be in 3rd place now, running only on LAUSD's lousy educational record.
AV has promised Huizar's LAUSD spot to a candidate who ran a very unsuccessful campaign for CM in his own district years ago, has been a loyal AV toady, and who stayed out of the last batch of CM races, in part, because of that promise -- and he'll do what he's told. His only problem thay be that AV has in the past given wannabes the impression they're the ONLY one he's making that promise, too.

1) Nobody's replacing Huizar, at least not now. He won't win in CD14 (but he probably won't complete the term either... itchy feet).
2) Why bust a confidence when it probably won't be necessary (see above). BUT, if hell freezes over anytime soon, and Huizar yanks this out, look at who announces, who AV begins to prop up, and see who "don't know" what (. . .CD1, ambulance chaser, failed CM run in past years). Then address apologies to "anonymous" and play futbol in heavy traffic.

If you only knew the stories about him and his alcoholic family. They abuse and take advantage of people with money and launder money through property sales. This is how Alvin makes money, through failed campaign fund raisers.

Forgetting about Vignali is a big mistake. These thugs are all over the place at city hall. Just the fact that AV could find the extra 50mil for the trust fund and not the police proves the developers win and the people lose. Now we see AV setting the stage for his run for the Governor's office. He'll say "the people want me to run". Just watch how fast the contracts move for affordable housing and watch the dollars flow into his campaign coffer...that's the real story here.
