Mayor Sam's Morning Update

The Los Angeles Ethics Commission has fined Council Member Jack Weiss $4800 for failing to make public filings of his campaign literature during his 2001 election campaign. A total of 32 seperate incidents formed the basis for the Commission's actions.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will appear live on the regular "Ask The Mayor" program, Wednesday evening at 9:00 p.m. on KCAL 9. The Mayor is also scheduled to serve as the Grand Marshall for the Hollywood Christmas Parade. This is the last year that Hollywood legend Johnny Grant will serve as producer of the event. Wonder if the ACLU will try to ban this parade?

Hopefully the officers at the Foothill LAPD station have got the place spic and span, LA Chief William Bratton has an inspection scheduled Wednesday.

LA Voice is down as I write this. I am sure they are working on it and could be up by the time you're reading this. Does anyone read that blog anymore? Other than an army of non-anon and anony-bloggers, what's their angle?

By the time you read this, the 14th District will probably have a new Councilman, Jose Huizar. The 10th District already has a seat warmer, Herb Wesson, but we knew that months ago.
