High Noon at the Council Corral
***UPDATED BELOW WITH AUDIO***
After a weekend to cool off and an election to distract them, any bets as to whether the Councilmembers are going to get a long today?
For those of you needing to catch up, both Weiss and Zine were on the John and Ken show last weekt and John and Ken ripped Weiss a new one and said that his argument about the dummy cameras saving lives is total crap. That if he was really into saving lives that he should be putting more energy into solving the gang problem. When Zine was on the air he said " I would have thought that with Jack Weiss being a former Federal prosecutor that he would support honesty and integrity, but I guess not."
Add that to the public spats over wasting time with resolutions and actually showing up to council sessions on time, and you have trouble brewing. It's the first time in a long time that the usually very vanilla city council actually has two members openly going against each other. It's going to get more interesting because not only do the two of them have public safety committee together, they have to sit next to each other on the council floor.

I think it's great that they can go after each other's positions. Afterall, it's not personal.

Not personal? He said Weiss had no honesty or integrity. That's pretty personal. And another point for our friend from CD3, go ahead and piss off the councilman closest to AV... reeeeeal smart. Though I guess nobody in mensa is holding their breath for Dennis to pass the entrance exam...

Jack-ass-Weiss is disliked by almost all of his council peers because he's always pissing on them and acting like he's better and smarter than them and trust me the Mayor knows that Jack is a liability. In this most recent example Jack is jealous the he didn't get as much press. Keep on pissin Jack-o it doesn't matter much anyway cause Hertzberg is gunna kick your ass when you both run for city atty.

If Weiss spent half as much time on his residents as he does being a prick and sucking up to the Mayor then he MIGHT be worth listening to.

Kick his ass Zine!
Instead of city elections, I think it would remove pay-for-play and actually generate revenue for the City.
They should have City Council Death Matches on Pay-per-view.
I would personally pay to see Weiss and Janice Hahn go at it. Or Jan Perry and Herb Wesson Or "Strip Club" Gruel with "No-lap dance" Cardenas.
This would definitely get folks interested in Politics.

CD 14 here...let the man/woman speak. Don't censor them because you don't like what you hear!
Democracy.

When did this pic take place?

It looked like Alex Padilla

Just think how much more fun city council will be with one more "real" person on board like Pacheco.
Huizar would just run for cover (like during the school riots).

Don't you remember White Daddy Parke Skelton won't let Huizar buy Signs. He despises them, that must have been the following sign I wrote:
"CD 14 MOST WANTED"
JOSE HUIZAR
CORRUPT LA SCHOOL BOARD WANTED FOR STEALING MONEY FROM STUDENTS, PERJURY, AND RACKETEERING.

Skelton noted that although it is interesting that many voters don’t continue down the ballot after picking top candidates, it is nothing short of “incredible” that millions of Californians complete the ballot, even voting for a list of judges, none of whom voters have ever heard of."

"Villaraigosa's campaign consultant Parke Skelton said, "There is nothing illegal about taking contributions from any of these people."

We laugh at how ironic it is that Parke Skelton wants to be perceived as the saviour of minorities when all he does is cause havoc below his plush OAK HILL NEIGHBORHOOD. You look down at the peons in EL SERENO from your plush OAK HILL CASA. Keep hating us until we drive out your racism from our community!

Alison
Are you and your Oak Hill residents happy that Tio villaraigosa got you the Dog Parke, while the rest of the poor section watches.
You rich liberals criticize Republicans but you are far worst!

I see this as yet ANOTHER staged opportunity to do 2 things;
1) Show Villaraigosa's "consensus building" skills for the camera so that he looks like he's 'in charge of things.
2) Make Chief Bratton a little worried because of the idiots surrounding him from John Mack and these two "buddies" of AV.

Did I hear in that clip that because the old contract has expired, the cameras are now "decoys"?
And here I've been pointlessly tiptoeing through La Cig at Sunset for months!

Funny you bring that up again, 3:06 p.m., because as of Sunday the number of "Huizar" signs littering empty lots, constructions fencing, freeway entrance landscape, etc. all over Northeast L.A. had trippled. Still very few in people's front yards, but the overall presence of them in non-residential space had gone WAY up.
Another lie?
(probly)
Or maybe they just couldn't give them away to people and figured - what the heck, throw them out there, anywhere.

Weiss needs something new since his only claim to fame - trashing the Airport Police - went down in flames on the last ballot! Can anybody point to anything Weiss has actually acheieved during his tenure on the City Council? The guy is a grandstanding idiot.
Anonymous said:
Jack Weiss has his head so far up Antonio's ass I am surprised he can breathe. I know alot of Jack's friends from the past and they think he's a jerk too. His former US Atty workmates just laugh at what a grandstander he is and do nothing. People are already talking in the CA office that they will retire or flat out leave if he makes it.

All Wiess/Zine conflict aside, I think it is pretty cool that Mayor Sam is now coming at is full mono stereo over the internet. Is a podcast of collected audio snippets far behind?
