Haven't seen it in any of the local papers or blogs yet, but there was a massive, four alarm house fire in Pasadena tonight. I drove by on the 134 and could see a plume of smoke all the way from Glendale. Passing over the Arroyo on the bridge, when I looked back over my right shoulder, I could see a large house, at least 15,000 square feet, engulged in 4 story flames. Twenty minutes later, I went back, and there were dozens of police cars and fire engines there, but the fire was so intense, it couldn't be put out. People on the street were saying that this house was used in the Batman movies as Bruce Wayne's home.
Was it a pornographic motion picture? Rumor has it, it was.
1:29 This is unfortunate. Pasadena has the most beautiful historic homes. Too bad I cannot afford to live in Pasadena.

This is all AV had to say about education today in his speech at USC:
"My Council of Education Advisors is looking at what of the City of LA can do immediately to address many of the biggest challenges our young people face every day. To find ways to improve campus safety and security. To provide safe passages so that our kids can travel from home to school without the fear of violence. And to expand to the availability of after-school programs and options in a city where most parents work."
What a crock. He's not changing the LAUSd because he doesnt' want to. He's a fool.
