Various musings...The WWG is once again horrified at the thought of suburban popular trash culture being infected with Spanish. There's a ghost in the machine serving Adelphia customers in westside enclaves and classic shows such as "Desperate Housewives" and "Friends" have been overtaken by the Spanish second audio track. I guess they got tired trying to determine the source of the stench. Doesn't matter, most Sister City readers probably watch Channel 35. Maybe Rosendahl can help.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has a feature about him in Wikipedia. So does Tom LaBonge, but the very short article is referred to by the Wikipedia folks as a "stub." They invite you to update it and add more content. No wikis for Jack Weiss or Dennis Zine. Alex Padilla also has a stub, but his is bigger than LaBonge's.
Victor Cuevas of Assemblymember Cindy Montanez's office says that she has several bills of use to the average citizen, ranging from fighting identity theft to her car buyers bill of rights, its just that her anti-paparrazi law is the one generating the most media attention.

I agree, the threads are on random subjects now a days.
There is still no 80 neighborhood watches and this site seems slower.
So will AV announce the 100 neighborhood watches at this media event?

Haven't seen it in any of the local papers or blogs yet, but there was a massive, four alarm house fire in Pasadena tonight. I drove by on the 134 and could see a plume of smoke all the way from Glendale. Passing over the Arroyo on the bridge, when I looked back over my right shoulder, I could see a large house, at least 15,000 square feet, engulged in 4 story flames. Twenty minutes later, I went back, and there were dozens of police cars and fire engines there, but the fire was so intense, it couldn't be put out. People on the street were saying that this house was used in the Batman movies as Bruce Wayne's home.

MeCHA is a university organization, like the Black Student Union (BSU), that forced universities to change and acknowledge a diversity of ideas, cultures and viewpoints. It challenged mainstream educational policies that for decades discriminated against ethnic minorities and women. It's one of the organizations that pressed for equality.
To many mainstream whites, they came to represent a major challenge to their sense of entitlement and privilege.
To Anon 12:27 AM I would bet my right arm not only that anyone on the Montanez staff is not emailing Mayor Sam on state time but that the thought has never even occured to them. That staff is too professional to even think of that.
