The Clinton Stench

This post is about something that just doesn't smell right, and no we're not talking about the stench only certain noses could smell.

Mayor Sam is a little dubious about left wing criticism of presumed Democratic Presidential candidate Hilary Clinton. First off, we have U2 upset that Hilary and other Democratic politicians are buying tickets to the band's concerts and auctioning them off to big bucks donors. The other issue concerns anti-war activists protesting a recent Los Angeles fundraising appearance by Hilary herself. The protestors showed up to the Hancock Park home of "Friends" creator Marta Kaufman, who was hosting an event for Clinton.

Along with Hilary's recent stance against illegal immigration, it leads me to be a bit cynical. Could these be orchestrated attempts to distance Hilary from the extreme left? In order to avoid the fate of Al Gore or John Kerry, to capture the White House, Hilary has to gain at least some of the Southern states her husband won in his elections. By positioning herself as more of a centrist and backing away from her liberal roots, Hilary has the chance to earn some Southern votes. Yes, she runs the risk of alienating some liberals, but come on - where are they going to go? Particularly if her Republican opponent is Senate President Pro Tem Bill Frist, or even Newt Gingrich. The one problem the strategy presents is earning the Democratic nomination. Hilary is definitely the front runner, will have the cash and ground forces necessary, has a boatload of political favors owed her and her husband, AND has the cache of being the first possible female President. Nonetheless, if the war is still raging and Hilary - among others - is perceived as not having stood up to the Bush Administration, it does leave an opening for a Howard Dean or Dennis Kucinich to fire up the liberal troops. It could be McCarthy-Humphrey all over again.

Clinton is a closet socialist amongst other closet secrets she has, the fundraisers are red alert to those liberals that question her loyalty.

Highest bidder anyone?

In 2008, Clinton and Villlaraigosa will go up against Colin and Condi. The Democrats will try to out-conservative the Republicans, and the Republicans will try to out-liberal the Democrats.

Villaraigosa is running for VP of the USA.

Clinton & Villaraigosa for 2008. I thought it was Clinton & McCain, yes he is a republican, but I heard a deal was being made.

Clinton will let her candidacy go through her hands if she picks mighty midget.

Villaraigosa has a dark background, illegal activity past, I don't think she will be this stupid. If she is, VIGNALI will open the door for her failed candidacy, even her brother is involved...why waste an opportunity on mighty midget.

Who is the last sitting mayor you saw on a presidential ticket?

You MUST be a moron to even suggest something like that. Tell you what, stick to third grade civics.

I'm still in LAUSD and continuation student, have you heard of that? I am smart, but I hate Roosevelt, the school sucks and ugly, old books, boring teachers and I rather go to self paced school.

the teachers are racist.

As for the comment that a mayor can't run for VP, two responses: i) sure he can, especially if he's the mayor of a city with a population greater than Ireland, not to mention half the states; and ii) he'll be governor by then anyway, unfortunately...

You didn't get the F for WHAT you wrote rather how poorly you wrote it.

Reading comprehension obviously isn't your strength. Where did you read that a Mayor "can't" run for V.P.? That was neither stated nor implied. The question was a reference to a historical fact that no mayor has been on a presidential ticket.

Yes, don't be silly 2:19. AV will be Governor then, not the mayor.

And all of CA will love that big white smile just like all of LA does.

Don't worry about Vignali. Clinton pardoned him and would have without AV's letter.

I love Hillary. If she's smart, and we know she is, she'll let AV run in 2016 and stay away from him right now.

He can revel in the fact that he's the first Hispanic Mayor in _______ years.

Then he'll move up.
