Huizar, who through the last reporting period has raised nearly $380,000 including about $90,000 in matching funds, continues to lead the money race. He has also benefited from more than $28,000 in independent expenditures, mostly from unions. Campaign documents revealed that the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees union spent more than $12,000 in 42 instances of what were labeled "estimated salary for walker." Another $11,000 was spent on a union mailer supporting Huizar.

Lameboy Padilla is Antonio's lapdog. Lisa Sarno "aka Gabbage Patch" is a complete moron. She hasn't done a damn thing for CD14 and in fact rarely attends any meetings cause she'll get blasted for being lazy. Why did Padilla put her in charge instead of the CLA rep as has been done in the past? Because Padilla is a kiss ass to Antonio and AV wanted total control of CD14. GET RID OF THOSE MORON FIELD STAFFERS WHO DON'T DO SHIT FOR THE COMMUNITY AND ARE WASTING OUR TAX DOLLARS

WHO ARE HUIZAR'S CONSULTANTS?
ANY COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS?

Pay for walking precincts for Huziar, no wonder he has to raise so much money. You only have to raise that kind of money if you don't have the support of volunteers.

Since union members are supporting prop. 75 the business of unions borrowing on membership dues to pay for misleading ads and pouring money into campaigns members don't support will end, Hopefully this will give those who live in the district the upper hand on electing who they want to represent them. Not outside interest groups.

You see, tony moved into the 14th to run for city council. And look how much he's done for the residents.

It will also slow down those who choose to move into an area before the deadline to run in areas they don't care about or know nothing about.

Yeah. Let's get a real role model, like defeated ex-Councilman Pacheco, who, when in office was known as an equal opportunity abuser.

This guy is about to lose his third straight election, maybe he'll get the message and take his buddies Torres III and Villanueva and try moving somewhere where they don't know him so well.

We all know about AV whether you like him or not- truth is truth. And we all know about Farrakhan and the bologna his spouts.

I wasn't talking about Pacheco. But, since you brought him up- I think you're spouting some stuff seeing if it flies or not.

That's sad you need to make stuff up. But you're probably a professional by now, you have to do it a lot to make yourself look good Huziar...good try, but we know when you blog.

Put your head back up AV's ass...you look smarter that way.

anon 5:27-it's people like you who continue to perpetuate lies who are the problem. Continuously bringing up things he was never in trouble for, especially when others stood up and said what they did is just ludicrous.

Nick did a good job for the 14th when he was the council-member. He did a great job as chairman of the budget and finance committee. The city didn't lay off staff when other government employees lost their jobs.

His clean-ups are still copied by others, even Antonnio.

More streets and sidewalks were paved in the district than ever before. The district saw more traffic signals and stop signs installed.

And he supported gang injunctions which others, not to mention any names, did not support.

You may not like Nick, or agree with everything he did and that's ok. But don't put down the job he did, because you didn't make a dime on it. He worked hard and did a great job.

I live in the 14th, so I know what past reps have done and didn't do. I remember going to the district office asking when sidewalks would be fixed from the city's trees breaking them up. I was told my street would go on a list. But they fortgot to tell me that the council didn't budget for sidewalks to be redone. They'd let you think they were doing something and truly they were filing you in the circle file. I was told by an old staff member that's what they did. That's just one instance just to let you know I am in the know.

I was also told by an old staff member of a former councilmember that Nick should use all the money in ER, because that's where it mattered for votes. Isn't that the saddest thing. No wonder the 14th was in the shape it was in when Nick was first elected.

Nick brought more money into the district and used it throuthout the district. What's wrong are you jealous? You must be, because other city council members have told me, a resident of the 14th, that they never saw anyone, and any staff work so hard before. They also said they felt the district had been under served in the past.

It's interesting the anger you have. Where does it come from? What's your loss if Nick would win?
It just seems your too caught up in hating him. What's he done to you?

You must be from the mayor's office. He's afraid if Jose doesn't get in he will have to work for the votes from the city council.

Well I think the mayor should have to work to get the council members to support his ideas. I don't think he should have carte blanc with our tax dollars.

If you agree with me on any of these issues you too should support Nick, and let's get this over with sooner than later. I am tired of not having a voice at city hall.

Well said. You convinced me, but I was on my way towards supporting Pacheco by comparing both candidates during the past two months.

Huizar does not measure up to the capabilities Pacheco has demonstrated for CD 14 and we see a future with Pacheco.

Because the stakes are too high for those of us who live in the 14th to give the opportunity to not only learn where the drinking fountains are in city hall, but need someone who already knows who will be there and when. There's a lot of wheeling and dealing in government and we need someone to be reckoned with, or the deal will never happen.

As noted my dgarsila you are a youngster, although I applaud you for running, we need a person with more life experience going up against these seasoned politicians. I hope we will see you in the future...

As for several of the other candidates:

You don't send a nag into a sweeptakes race, and expect her to keep up with the thoroughbreds who do their daily workouts. And these councilmembers have personal trainers who keep them in shape...

Or an Olympian who doesn't have a college degree, but who means well and might have an idea.

Or a community volunteer who doesn't have command of a language.

Or a wannabe author whose too busy promoting a book instead of figuring out the needs of the residents and community he professes to want to represent.

Or a person who woke up one day and decided to read the LA Times and thpught it would be a good idea to run for office. Anyone who believes the Times, with their record has to step away from the pipe. I am a resident of ER and never heard of him or saw him at a community meeting.

Or someone who ran for elected office, mounted a serious campaign while unopposed, and weeks after being re-elected has no fiduciary responsibility to the citizens. Obviously he doesn't care about the children. He knows a special election will have to be held to replace him costing thousands of our dollars. And these are dollars that could be spent in the classroom or paying our teachers higher salaries.

Anyway, we already had someone who said they wanted to represent us and dropped us fast with the opportunity to run for higher or more prestiages office. Hence we are here today having a special election.

I could go on, but I think you get the picture.

This is a serious time, and we need serious leadership.

Just because you have a thought or idea doesn't mean you are the one who is best to implement it.

Huizar has a lot of students walking for him. Sadly, they had no clue why they were walking or how to answer any questions. When asked why should anyone vote for Jose they didn't have an answer. When asked what Jose has done for the community or their school, they didn't have an answer. I hope Jose keeps them walking. It will show the community why people should vote for Pacheco. He has experience, knows CD14 like anyone else, knows all the main players and organizations, has a track record of accomplishments etc. etc.

Jose has a record of not doing anything at LAUSD except build schools when there is a drop out rate, enrollement is down, spending $300,000 for his office, spending $49 million on parking garage and much more

Parents prefer what nontraditional schools offer
Charter school enrollment in California has exploded over the past two years, a sign that parents are desperate for solutions to the public school fiasco.
Trouble is, the education establishment doesn't want to pay much attention to this trend, especially in Los Angeles, where school district unions and administrators try hard to ignore the glaring fact that charters are extremely popular with parents and growing numbers of teachers.

More gruff from the Pacheco weirdos.

I love when i read stuff like how Antonio copied the clean-ups from nick pacheco. It seems like the only thing the pacheco/criminals know how to do is lie.

When the MAYOR was an ASSEMBLYMAN he started clean-ups in his district and expanded the idea to other assemblymembers when he became SPEAKER. So if we are going to play the history game the Pacheco folks should stop reading the ceaht sheets and just read the entire book.

Oh wait, they are unethical fools so i suppose cheating isn't that big of a deal to them.

Also it appears that there are folks who like to blog on here who like to make it appear folks minds are being changed because of the positive lies being spread about pacheco.

have fun convincing yourself -- FYI you could turn the page on your hymnal buddy.

I AM NO CRIMINAL, I AM A RESIDENT AND VOTER IN THE DISTRICT. I WORK, PAY MY TAXES AND OWE NO ONE. I CAN SUPPORT WHOMEVER I WANT.

NO ONE CAN INTIMIDATE ME, I CAN SUPPORT WHOEVER I WANT.

Antonio DID NOT start the community clean ups as he claims. He also DID NOT start the traffic officers at intersections. Even the Daily News gives credit to Hahn for that. Antonio just loves taking credit for others hard work. Read his 100 day report. Its filled with a bunch of words but no real action. Av is nothing more then an empty suit with a nice smile. More and more residents citywide are now finally beginning to see what a loser of a mayor we have with absolutely no leadership skills.

We can save a lot of space here by simply saying that during his tenure as a city elected official (2003 to the present), Antonio Villaraigosa hasn't STARTED anything new or original (and he has completed almost nothing that anyone else started).

He copies, he co-opts and he cons.

He doesn't create.

P.S. UNLESS you want to count the FAKE 80 NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH ORGANIZATIONS in CD14. That was a fairly original flim-flam.
