Pork Busters
Multiple sites in the blogosphere teamed together to create this site to identify pork in their states that can be cut to help pay for the Hurricane Katrina aftermath. It is a great cause and something many of us have knowledge of, so feel free to run over there and provide your input.
But that got us thinking..... (I know, trouble...) What about pork in LA? We've asked before, but in a time where even our fine city is donating to the Hurricane relief, we need to tighten our belts too!
Feel free to provide your input below!

Mayor Says He'll Abide by DWP Pay Decision
September 20, 2005
On the eve of a City Council vote on controversial pay raises for Department of Water and Power workers, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said Monday he would abide by any decision.
The package would increase the salaries of nearly 8,000 DWP workers by at least 17% over five years and possibly by as much as 34%, depending on inflation.
"It's in the council's court," the mayor said. "They are going to make a decision. When they do, I will support that decision, whatever it is."

Mayor Sam Ground Rule #1:
Its okay to impersonate dead mayors, but lets not pose as living ones.
There is a long list of dead mayors available for the taking:
Tom Bradley
Norris Poulson
Fletcher Bowron
Cristobal Aguilar
and more...

^Whatever. It isn't like it'll make a difference. Most of the politicians today that are alive are brain-dead anyways.

Shouldn't there be an amount-of-time-passed rule? It would sadden me to see someone nab Tom Bradley since many can still remember the man personally.
Not my main point. Just remembering the scene in "Dave" when the titular president take out his No. 2 and saves some kids' center or something. Would that we lived in such a world. Well, we do. So I suppose: would that we lived in a world where electeds would do such things - for reals.
