Janice Hahn hates Handicapped people

Update - New pics at bottom and additional links!

Mayor’s Frank, Sam and I were out enjoying this great city earlier today when to our surprise we see Councilwoman Janice Hahn, which was great, considering we were in her district. And then we saw the most abusive action -- her city car was parked in a handicapped space.

Mayor Frank immediately turned to me and asked "when did Janice get hurt," to which I replied, "I have no idea".

Well, the truth is she wasn't -- she was abusing her power as a councilwoman and parked in a handicapped space.

All 3 photos clearly show it was her hybrid -- in fact the license plate number is 1153342.

City cars with exempt plates are not permitted to park in handicapped zones -- They aren't even allowed to park on curbs marked in red.

So, to the Daily News and LA Times, I know we have a bit of a scoop here, but this is in clear violation of city rules and a true abuse of power.

If only Janice had let her Christian side shine when she had the chance, she wouldn't have the Chief being the devil.

Let this be a lesson to folks that disagree or do things that upset me, I am watching you. And more likely than not, I already know your deep dark secrets.

So if you are disgusted as much as we are then please let your feelings be known.

You can contact Janice Hahn's office at:

200 N. Spring Street
Room 435
Los Angeles, CA 90012
Phone: (213)-473-7015
Fax: (213)-626-5431

The Gray Panthers, AARP and the City Ethics commission have been notified.

Also seen on LA Observed and Boi From Troi.

To the person claiming photoshop, I'll send the originals. I can vouch for them all day long. For those questioning the car, check out this from this morning...

Get up off your duff and walk to the basement of city hall. You can view it for yourself!

Here's a zoom of the plate from original photos above...

and zoom on one from the garage...

Houston, we have a match!

***Update***

We've just received the guidelines that the City's Dept of Transportation give to everyone with a city car.

Department of Transportation
MANUAL OF POLICIES & PROCEDURES
Subject: Use of City Vehicles
Section 172, Date 1/99

H. Parking Restrictions of City Vehicles

Exemption of City vehicles from parking restrictions is strictly limited to emergency work & construction or repair work. Operators of City vehicles on official business shall be granted courtesy exemptions from posted parking restrictions (listed below), provided such vehicles are properly identified by City Seal, Government license plates, or in the case of privately owned vehicles, clearly visible mileage placards displaying a business card with name, address, phone number, and the vehicle license number.

1. Courtesy Exemption:
Time Limit Parking
(1 hr., 2 hr., etc)................................................Exempted
"No Parking Zones"..............................................Exempted for a maximum 30 minutes Alleys (No Parking)..............................................Exempted for a maximum 30 minutes Commercial Loading Zones
(Yellow Zones)...................................................Exempted for a maximum 30 minutes Preferential Parking Districts..................................Exempted
Parking Meters....................................................Exempted

2. Exemptions do not apply to any employee with a mileage placard who parks on a street at or near the employee's normal place(s) or business. For example, a City employee whose office is in Figueroa Plaza may not use a mileage placard to avoid time limit restrictions or meter fees on streets in the vicinity of Figueroa Plaza. Similarly, these exemptions do not apply to an employee who parks on a street at or near any one of the Department's normal places of business. For example, if an employee assigned to one geographic office is required to attend meetings or training sessions at another Department facility, the employee may not use a mileage placard to avoid the restrictions normally covered by this policy.

Furthermore, no exemption while on routine business will be granted to the following restrictions at any time.

"No Stopping" Zones
"Tow Away" Zones
Red Curb
Red Curb for Bus Zones
No Parking for Street Cleaning
Passenger Loading Zones (White Zone)
Taxi Zones
Handicapped Zones (Blue Zones)
Fire Hydrants
Temporary Parking or Stopping Restrictions

You guys are hard up for the Hahn Family. I don't care at all about them. She should have never parked at that spot. Attn Mr. Villianragosa, please have your people do something useful for society instead of stalking politicians and acting like paparazzi.

Where is LAPD when you need them? Are they afraid to ticket her?

If she got the ticket, would Bratton allow her to "fix" it? I doubt it.

Those tickets are expensive.

What about a "citizen's arrest?"

I think someone should give this to those guys who like to talk in the three minute opportunities at Ciy Council, so they can air it on LA City T.V.

You know, the ones who wear the tee shirts that say "Fuck the C.R.A."? Or, that guy who screams for three minutes.

Mayors & Chief

Good Morning! I'm not here to frighten anyone, especially the Mayors & Chief. I once said, "I love this blog" and still holds true. The best possible way to get information out to the average Joe and best way to make a wave to politicians that are clueless about constituent services. This is a good site, informative, and best of all serves well to the communities. At times we may have the extreme left or right, but it is more helpful than hurtful.

For all the politicians out there, wouldn't you want to know what your average voter thinks or wants? If I were a politician, I would! For all of you in the real world, don't take this site for granted. This is my main reason for not divulging your identities, it is not worth it after you weigh the pros and cons. I will not tell! I Should have taken the job on the 17th floor, but what can I say, "I love my job."

Be Happy
Don't Worry
And Politicians, "Do not SCREW the people over!"

BTW I do not work in a group of 4, 3, or 2, it is only me. Call me whatever you want, I am not stalker, not Ace Smith, but probably just as good. I admire his skills. Cyberlady

You are absolutely right! Who cares who we are! The issue at hand is about a public figure abusing certain laws. Lead by example, and this is the hardest of them all. She should suffer the consequences as any other constituent would have, nothing more or nothing less, the same. For those that want someone hung for this too bad, and for those that want to just brush this off too bad. If she gets a ticket, that was the consequence of her actions. She should be held accountable! No coverups! No matter who YOU are, law is the law.

And who can forget the day several years ago when Janice Hahn went shopping for a new dress at Olvera Street during the lunch hour and "accidentally" charged it on her taxpayer-supported City credit card. Oops.

And let's not forget her contributions to world peace, with her many overseas junkets to visit LA's "Sister Cities".

Blogger's Parking Pics Sting Hahn

Councilwoman offers an apology after photos are posted of her car parked in a handicapped spot.

By Steve Hymon, Times Staff Writer

The buzz around City Hall on an otherwise quiet Friday: the posting of photos online of Councilwoman Janice Hahn's car parked in a handicapped spot.

The anonymous posting on the political blog called Mayor Sam's Sister City — a reference to the late Sam Yorty, a former Los Angeles mayor — included a photo of Hahn's car, a hybrid, parked in the City Hall garage and showed her license plate number.

The photo of the car illegally parked was taken at a Blue Line train station in Watts, where Hahn and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa attended an event on Thursday marking the 40th anniversary of the Watts riot.

Many postings on the site are anonymous and it's widely assumed around City Hall that many of the bloggers either work or have worked for the city.

That the photo was taken in the City Hall garage — which is not open to the public — is also a hint that a City Hall employee took the photo.

Hahn heard about the posting and apologized Friday in media interviews. She said a staff member was driving the car and that the individual had been "severely reprimanded."

"Someone was picking me up, I was not driving the car," she said. "We were short on time and I think they were trying to get as close as they could to where I was speaking.

"I'm embarrassed, I'm absolutely embarrassed, it's something that I personally would never do and something I have no sympathy for when other people do it," she added.

"Anyone who abuses handicap parking is the worst of offenders."

Blogger PhilKrakover said:

"Staffer severely admonished".

Jesus, does that mean he or she was required to sit down and listen to ten hours of Jimmy Hahn's speeches?

Or was it something more lenient, like just being fired?

Note to our esteemed former leader of the LADWP, and the Father of Water in LA:

In all fairness to Neil, the park was named after him just after he donated the money to create it.

After a suitable time (waited for the check to clear) it was agreed to post the name.

Others wishing recognition should do the same; plenty of naming opportunities exist for those with the ego and open pocketbooks to match.

Hell, last time I looked, you had a Drive named after you; and that for only taking a two week horseback ride and spending the next ten or twenty years getting the citizens of LA to put up the $5,000,000 and dig the waterway from Mammoth, so's we could steal their water fair and square.

Those were the good old days, huh? Too bad no one alive today remembers them.

in that photo how many otehr cars do you see parked in that spot. I see others parked in the streets. But I don't see any other cars parked there. To me this is an abuse of power and does not send a good message to the constituents of the City ,that you can park in a handicapped space just because you have california exempt plates. If you have california exempt plates then why worry about being towed away in a red zone on the street. You won't, I see plesty of Council people park their cars in red zones. Even their private ones and I won't mention any names. No one tows them.

But this was just too much . It should have been exposed and to tell the truth I do think it was a JANice HAhn Staff member , becauase a lot nof legilative deputies seem to think they are better than most.

Or maybe it is just my experiences with ANtonio Villaraigosa district 14 staff that have me generalizing.
