LA Observed Skittish?
We here at Mayor Sam - thanks to Chief Parker's nose for news - were way ahead of both LA Observed and the Daily News in reporting the mysterious autodialer placing thousands of calls in regards to Councilman Greig Smith allegedly breaking his promise on the Sunshine Canyon Landfill.
I particularly love the part of the story where Smith had to duck out of a local Greek Festival because of the fallout from the calls.
Kevin Roderick, the lovable editor of the LA Times of blogs, reported the story today, following the Daily News publishing the article. Roderick said he had the story days ago, but held off cause he couldn't confirm it. When has that ever stopped a blog from printing a story before? Which leads me to further believe this guy is full of shit.
Unlike LA Observed, we here at the Sister City offer our readers a chance to comment on our stories, so Roderick or any of his fans are free to blog away dum dums and respond.
UPDATE:
The Blog Intercine Wars continue as Martini Republic's own Joseph Mailander gets into his own dust-up with Kevin Roderick - featuring full on responses from Roderick himself.
(Something of course one of our readers mentioned you can't do at LA Observed)

Mayor Sam, you should ask how many other bloggers think Kevin Rodrick is full of shit. I know at least one who told me that.
Joseph Mailander said:
I find that people tell me that Kevin Roderick is full of shit all the time (or, to use the more polite word I most recently heard, "disingenuous.") But it appears a lot of other bloggers are reticent to criticize him, perhaps because they are grateful for his linking to them twice a year, like some high school newspaper editor trying to please the class. They should aim higher.

mailander's vendetta here is an old story. has to do with jealousy of cathy seipp and roderick not linking to him. this time mailander implies that roderick is a cracker. why? because he linked to david z's story about fernando guerra. looks like roderick finally got fed up with mailander's shit and fired back.
Mayor Sam said:
Mailander pisses me off sometimes too, but I think he's cool.
Roderick is more and more full of shit. Sure I love it when he gives us press, but everytime he does its pompous and condescending. Its like his shit doesn't stink.
The thing that cracks me up the most is that Roderick tries to present himself as some sort erudite, upper crust left wing intellectual, but give him the chance to put some T&A shots on his site and he does it. Witness his current near nude shot of Pamela Anderson with a dog that is an ad for some sort of "doggy blog." Yea, he knows what he's doing.
He's the typical Westside white boy limousine liberal.
Do you think he's not getting any?

Hey Sam, how do you define full off shit? He stands behind every thing he writes, he corrects his mistakes, and he doesn't print every lame-ass tip that hits his mailbox.
While you've been panting over the Pamela Andersen pic and kissing up to that idiot Mailander, LA Observed has beaten you today with items about Doug Dowie's indictment, Laura Chick and Hahn trying to appoint McOsker and Liu to cush jobs.
Blog away dum dums
Mayor Sam said:
Kevin, we predicted the Dowie indictment a long time ago. Yea, we got Laura Chick's PR but we don't print every PR someone sends us. Now go back to whacking it.

Hey Mayor Sam-I'm surprised you have not picked up the scoop on the County Fed. Martin Ludlow will be the one taking Miguels seat. We will be having a special election for CD10. I'm not too familiar with that end of town. Who do you think will run in that special election? Too bad about Martin he's an idiot that will be lead by the nose by Maria Elena, Fabian and Antonio. Shame on the trades unions and SEIU for letting this sucker through. from Tofu Girl
Mayor Sam said:
If its true, then a whole ton of folks will run. Look for Leo Terrell and Madison Shockley to make comebacks.
Can Nate Holden run again?

How about the news of the long awaited endictment of Doug Dowie!
Who's next?

uh sam, your favorite photo is an ad. it's running on lots of blogs.

Anyway, I find two interesting links involving Art Pulido, the guy Zahniser uses for his money shot quote validating the "questions" raised about Fernando Guerra. In one, he simply disses Antonio. In another, kinda hilariously, he's accused of disrupting a neighborhood council meeting in a way that necessitated the police be called. Links to both are here at my other blog.
Pulido ire extends to Guerra

When are we going to get a big one from the mayor's office. Is Troy next?

Come on, LA Observed is better than all you other bloggers together. Give 'em hell, Kevin!

Hi Sam et al,
For some reason, it feels like an honor to be called full of shit by a dead mayor.
One correction to your post though. I didn't say on L.A. Observed that I had the 12th council district story. I said I had the anonymous tip. Big difference. I presume we got the same blind email, at about the same time. I don't know about you, but I hold off using tips until I know they're true all the time.
I'm sorry the tone of my posts at L.A. Observed isn't more to your liking. But the blogosphere is big enough for both of us. To each his own!
Cheers...

I don't know about the reporter who is looking for information on Guerra, but I am too. I am interested in seeing his client list.
How does one get that? Is there a list of companies that a consultant or lobbyist work/s/ed for? Do they have to do a certain amount of work in order to register?
Is this secret City Hall employee information that you guys like to guard?

Anon 12:36 A.M.:
If you were a true journalist, you wouldn't need help finding out the info. But since I have a soft spot for reporters, I can tell you to go to the City of LA website,
(http://www.ci.la.ca.us/) select "City Ethics Commission", then navigate to what you want to see about clients, lobbyists, etc.
Next time meet me in the parking lot, second floor at 2:00 A.M. and take security precautions.

Labserved unlike this site posts most stories. At Kevin has the guts to posts the negative stories on Antonio. This site tries to do crisis damage for Antonio and it doesn't work. First you go after
David Z now Kevin.
BTW David Z got national attention with his story on Floridagate. No one has topped that yet. Little Jessica Garrison will never report a story with true facts for her honey Antonio. She should be canned by LA Times.

Of course from what I know about Mayor Sam and Kevin, Kevin has a lot more time on his hands to spend on the blog.

Kevin Roderick is such a pussy he doesn't allow comments on his site.
Anonymous said:
The calls in CD 12 went on for 2-3 days... How much confirmation did LA Observed need? Any idiot in City Hall could see Chief of Staff Englander fuming about the calls (probably because they called him out for the slime he is).

Hey 8:58 – interesting that you would call Kevin a pussy for not allowing comments on his page. Bravery is the perfect topic to bring up on a page run by a bunch of anonymous baby bloggers who won’t even use their real names. What’s that saying about the teapot and the kettle?
Anonymous said:
So what if people are anonymous. At least Mayor Sam lets them take shots at him and he lets them do it big. Roderick whines if one person picks on him. All the other blogs have comments. Fucking pussy Roderick. Thinks he Arianna Huffington.

I have a good idea for Mayor Sam and his/her cohorts – go play in traffic. Oh,and for 9:23, grammar check – try it!

Mayor Sam lets people take shots at him
??? When has that been? He's anonymous, you idiot. He talks shit about people using their real names, then walks around immune with a big grin on his face. No balls and no honor.
Anonymous said:
Every blog in the world is free to take shots at Roderick, for his colleagues, co-workers, sources, readers and family to see. Sam and friends are the ones in hiding.
Anonymous said:
I'm also pretty tired of the smug, flat tones of LA Observed. And I think Roderick degraded himself with his profanity-laced tirade in response to Mailander. Kind of funny to imagine the guy huffing and puffing and he types out "slimeball!!" and "scumbag!!"
Anonymous said:
Mayor Sam is as anonymous to you as Homer Simpson is. He's a character and unless you personally know Roderick or Mailander or Mack Reed or Boi from Troy, they are too. They're characters on the internet, regardless of their "real" personnas.
The bottom line is that whomever Mayor Sam, he lets you take shots at him and what he writes. You can rebut and debate.
Roderick is too chicken to do that, whether he is real or not.

Mitchie, Mitchie..
You are too Bitchy.
We cannot elect the likes of you.
Won't set ourselves up for the big SCREW....
We know it is coming, it has to be
Because everyone knows you are really scummy.
Got anything good planned for us here Mitchell? Want to eliminate some horsekeeping? Have any new developers giving you money to stash for your campaign? Ready to annex Las Lomas? Getting your way on the landfill? Do you just love the new county side of the upcoming Porter Ranch project? Will Uncle Harvey help you or will you still be "not speaking" by then? Are the Browns Canyon people loving you? Are those pesky residents/constituents mad about a tacky Walmart next to the mall? Did you hypnotize one of the best activists, Kim Thomson to get her to come to your side? Got any churches you could allow to move into a residential area, not pay taxes and annoy their neighbors with their noise and traffic? Did you find a way to "save" the NVJCC?
Some of us will never accept you. We wouldn't have voted for Greg if we knew he was going to keep you. So his ratings are slipping, but we think you'll be better? Ha Ha Ha Ha
