Have a Drink, Dilbeck
Sports and beer go together, they always have, and the two are a multi-billion dollar legitimate industry. That's why it makes no sense for USC President Steven Sample to ban beer sales during Trojan games at the LA Coliseum.
Daily News sports columnist Steve Dilbeck agrees with Sample's move. In his view there is no "unalienable right to get tanked at a sporting event."
Dilbeck cites the increasing incidents of unruly behaivor of fans at sporting events as a good reason to ban beer. But come on Steve, this is intellectually dishonest. Sporting events have had alcohol available for centuries. Now all of a sudden we blame all of our ills on a Heineken? What's up with that?
The truth is that the unruly activity at sporting events comes from a couple of decades worth of parents not teaching their kids good manners. Its the lack of sportsmanship that is taught to athletes, seen in their trash talk and end zone dances. You can ban the Budweiser booth, but the rest of the nonsense will continue on.
Taking away my right to have a frosty mug with my hot dog isn't going to make the problem go away. And Sample and Dilbeck should know better.

"Football is a fascination of the devil and a twin sister of the drink system."We would disagree. Drinking alcohol is a legal, adult custom that should be enjoyed by those who choose to. Particularly at sporting events.

Well Mayor Sam, first you were getting into LA Observed's territory posting stories about blogs and newspapers and such.
With this post, you simultaneously invade both Mailander's and Boi from Troy's turf talking about both alcohol and USC football.
What's next? Reviews of sushi restaurants in Los Feliz?
We need to get you another election - STAT - before you continue this identity crisis any further!

Because USC artificially keeps its ticekt prices low (makes up for it by requiring big donations to get decent seats), the Coliseum gets screwed by this change.
Not only does it lose the income from the sale of beer, it is wounded in the NFL chase as the NFL undoubtedly would want to control the venue and USC just shut down a profit center.
Bad move, Sample. We will never get the old lady a redo.

Oh, Oh....
THe Coliseum must not be in CD 14!
Antonio must not have slept with the Colisem or USC.
No wonder the CD 14 Blogging Team is bored.
Keep up the good work.

Martin Ludlow becomes the new head of the County Fed. Herb Wesson replaces Martin on the council. Mark Ridley-Thomas takes Yvonne's supervisor's seat. Done! Why have elections in Los Angeles?

Don't give up your day job.
Herb will take Ludlow's seat, but then become Supervisor whenever Yvonne decides to pull the plug.
Mark and Rod Wright will fight it out for Kevin Murray's Senate seat. Rod is slightly favored.
The primary, of course, will decide this one.
You go back to some other line of work. Bricklaying is an honest profession.

Phil, you're too dumb to realize that you are agreeing with anon 9:19. The point he was making, I thought, was that elections are worked out way before elections! What a dunce.....

Herb may take Ludlow's seat. But, is not a shoe-in for the Supervisor's position. Every black elected who has their eye on Yvonne's job is fearful that Parks will run.

Non assimilation is going to be the destruction of the latinos in the US. They will be a large force, yes, but of welfare recipients. How many lazy thugs do you see in your district and cannot read or write, let alone have a job. They like nice cars, have tons of kids, and spend like crazy. Where does the money come from? Us, the taxpayers. We support this bulk of dependants. We encourage them through liberal government to continue their lack of productiveness. There is no money for college, but there is money for Quinceaneras. They may not have money to pay the rent, but they wear $100 shoes, they don't go to school, but they sure stay home and know all of the cartoons. Go to any apartments that are subsidized by our government, and you will see how many people do not work just lazy around all day. These people do not want anything else in life, but the tax dollars to support them.

Hello?!! Banning alcohol at USC is not going to keep it's fans from being total morons.

What a bunch of morons! Only one post on here out of 10 has anything to do with SC.
LA is literally a dumb-ass town. That's why idiots like Dilbeck, Sample and Kevin Roderick can lord over it. They'd never make it somewhere like New York, Boston, San Francisco, etc.
