GUEST BLOGGER -- FIREFLY

Chief Parker has allowed me access to replay a conversation between Bob Hertzberg and Jim Hahn today.

I am a relative of the "the fly" in fact we work in the same department. Mayor Hahn's office.

Here's a truncated summary of the conversation.

Jim Hahn: Bob I'd like to have your endorsement for Mayor.

Bob Hertzberg: Jim, i ran against you because you are a failure as Mayor.

Jim Hahn: I can't win this race without your support Bob.

Jim Hahn: Are you at least open to staying neutral ?

Bob: I have to speak to Antonio tomorrow, i don't know.

End of the conversation.

Tomorrow Bob and Antonio do meet -- in front of a swarm of cameras.

How does that conversation go...come back tomorrow night.

Same Bat Time, Same Bat Site.

Well , until I see it tomorrow will I get on my knees to teh saints.

But validation does not come from wihout it comes from within. James Hahn does not need to beg for validation.

For tony villar the ends justifies the means and what that means is turning his back on labor and his progressive rooots and transforming himself into a moderate , conservative to appeal to the voters. He will turn on the litle people.

The place that Hahn messed up was when he tried to cut funding for the arts. In a city of artists , he must have lost his mind. Tony villar will be about the ever present handout , to the artists , tax payer dollars to folks who calim they are saving cultural and artistic roots of the people.

Fire-LIE is more like it. You want us to believe Jim Hahn TOLD Hertzberg on (in ear shot of other people), "I can't win this without you, Bob!"

Yeah, and Hahn surrounds himself with this kind of disloyal workers because why? He has the most powerful job in the 2nd largest city in the country and all he can get to work in his office, close to top campaign secrets is closet Villaraigosa supporters (who used to be maggots before they "grew up" to be flies).

Make up some intersting believable tripe for us, please, this is a boring time in the race... tell us Garcetti and LaBonge ran off the SF to get married, that Delgadillo is Ed Roybal's long lost love child, that Alarcon's been promised a stand-up comedy spot on Leno if he endorses Tony V.

Something believable, please. (It's been almost a week now since some other "all-knowing" hack blogger swore here that Hertzberg had already agreed to endorse Villar. How many "scoops" can we be expected to listen to here with a straight face?

Firefly is right. And Jim Hahn DOES need to beg for validation. Hertzberg doesn't half-ass anything. If he endorses AV, he'll bust his butt to make sure he wins the Valley. And if that's the case, Hahn is toast - dead man walking. Hahn might have lost the election today if he failed to keep Hertzberg out. Pickles and pastrami and the right touch tomorrow will make AV the mayor of Los Angeles.

Its hard to believe Hertzberg would be THAT dumb to endorse Antonio. Bob's wife HATES Antonio so Bob will have to live with her never forgiving him. All Cynthia (Mrs. Huggy) has to do is tell people ALL THE AFFAIRS Antonio had while in Sacramento. That goes to the heart of a man's character which Antonio has none. Antonio played Bob in Sacramento and took with his $300,000 when he left. Bob will be another door mat Antonio stepped on, disrespected and let's see how he returns the favor.

Daily News quote....But Villaraigosa has said he believes Valley voters will view him differently now than four years ago, based on his record as a city councilman and Hahn's record as mayor.

This is the funniest line I've heard yet from Antonio. Who in the hell does he think he's kidding? He has NO RECORD as a councilman. MEAT please tell your boss to stop embarrassing himself.

Hahn is right; he cannot win without Bob's endorsement; ergo, he cannot win.

It was not Antonio who dumped on Bob, rather it was Bob who dumped on Antonio. He squashed him like a bug, taking him off all committees and leaving him to roam the Speaker Emeritus' office with little to do but vote in the floor sessions. When he was termed out, he screwed him again on an appointment.

Yes, Cynthia Telles hates Antonio, but why? Could it be that she wanted to be with him rather than Hugzberg? Naah, couldn't be.

Bobzilla will either stay out or endorse Antonio. Believe me, it will be what Bob thinks is best for Bob. He will not endorse Jimmy and risk the ridicule of hypocrisy.

It doesn't matter much either way, because either way, Antonio wins. The Valley is and was important to Jimmy, because it was HALF the coalition that he beat Antonio with last time. But what about the other half?

The other half is disappearing rapidly while Jimmy courts the Valley. First the Ministers, then Yvonne Burke(can you believe it?)and Herb Wesson, now Maxine Waters, and soon Bernard Parks. How can Jimmy pull it together?

Will Jimmy start working more than four hours a day to campaign? How can he woo the Valley, woo South Central and raise money all at the same time? Speaking of time, so much to do, so little time...

All you Anti-Antonios out there, better start making your plans to join Barbra Streisand, Janeanne Garafolo, Whoopie Goldberg, Michael Moore and Alec Baldwin in Europe. It's all over but the shouting.

You are dead wrong. South LA may pretend to do as Burke, Waters and those other losers say. But word is they ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE FOR A LATINO. Get it??? They don't want to see your political clout disappear with a Mexican heading the ship only to help his own people. Same with the valley. Valley people again DON'T WANT A LATINO no matter what upstairs. Hell, they're afraid of illegal immigrants and the flood gates opening up. Same with the Westsiders. As soon as the truth comes out about Antonio cheating on his wife at least 5 times and what a dog he is to friends who were loyal people will realize he's nothing but an arrogant, egotisical loser.

So, "Firefly" (who "works" in Hahn's office), was what(?) -- moonlighting at the deli where Hahn and Hertzberg actually had a conversation about endorsements (in order to "replay" the conversation?) Fly in the restaurant window, maybe, not "fly" on the office wall?

More lies from the ADV-lovers. Yikes, can't anyone over there EVER tell the truth?

Anon asks? "Will Jimmy start working more than four hours a day to campaign?"

Will ADV ever start working more than 4 hours a week for his district constituents? Never... no one has more contempt for the easy "mark" who keeps believing him implausible lies than the career con man.

Was someone talking about "Bitter Bernie"?

I've never seen so much outright bitterness expressed by one Latino about another.

Perhaps you impose your standards on others, but people are so sick of Jimmy, it is just like Kerry.

Any Democrat could have beaten Bush except one that is inherently unlikeable. The people pegged him as a LOSER and with a Democratic majority and people sick of Iraq and Afghanistan, he still couldn't get elected.

No, perhaps Blacks and Latinos cannot vote for one another, but it seems to me that they did so to elect Tom Bradley four times, so why not once for Antonio?

Jimmy's going down. Look for Maxine Waters and Richard Alarcon to get on the bandwagon for AV soon...maybe tonight? Can Huggy and Bernie be far behind?

If Huggy endorses Villaraigosa he will be Antonio's bitch for ever. If he endorses Hahn and Hahn wins Huggy becomes the next mayor of Los Angeles. But watch Huggy mess up that decision just as he did most things in his campaign.

Anon 4:51pm you are such a DRAMA QUEEN. Maxine Waters, Diane Watson and the rest of the Black parade came out to support Bitter Bernie and got absolutely NO Where. Antonio is telling people in South LA that he will get rid of Bratton if he becomes Mayor and put a tight rope around LAPD. Good luck asshole!! ALARCON is NOT going to endorse until next week or at least that's what he's telling people. Antonio BITCHED SLAPPED Richard. Let's see if these two men are man enough to tell Tony NO or will come out looking like a bunch of bitch slapped clowns bowing to the loser who humiliated them both.

Mayor Hahn fails to prevent the Los Angeles County Democratic Party from endorsing Antonio Villaraigosa. Villaraigosa went on to get the endorsement after receiving over 60% of the membership vote.

Gee, Alarcon forgot to read the Hahnista filibustering blogger...he didn't know that he wasn't supposed to endorse Antonio last night.

Either did the County party who didn't know that Jim was supposed to be getting the endorsement, not blowing it.

Jimmy has been known as the "I don't know anything about that but I'll look into it" Mayor. He's looking into Alarcon and the party endorsement right now. Expect his usual swift action.

Will Maxine not matter? How about Hugsberg? Better believe he's coming along soon. He wants to stay in the game and will settle for City Attorney in four or maybe two years. All he needs to do is pick the winner now. I guess that looks like Hahn, eh?

I don't think so.

Filibuster away, Anti-Antonios...

Waters is a joke in South LA. This is a woman who wrote letters supporting gang thugs like Surge Knight and other rappers who call their women bitches and whores. Yeah, this is a woman on want on my side. She's for family values just like Antonio who has had how many kids out of wedlock and even put one up for adoption. While Antonio's wife was in the hospital getting treatment for cancer he has an affair with her sister. Yup, this is the guy I want to see as Mayor.

Wow, I guess if at first you don't succeed lower your ethical standards. Desperation always seems to bring out the worst in others, and that's never been more true than in the postings from some of these Anti-Villaraigosa posters. But back to real talk:

Maxine Waters is a little of a looney. She surely seems like somebody who needs to have a bottle of prozac nearby just in case if she goes off her rocker, but she's a powerful women in South Los Angeles and within the African American establishment. She might be a looney, but she'll be Antonio's looney soon and that's all that matters. Not to mention Yvonne Burke, Cecil "Chip" Murray, John Mack, and the other African American leaders coming on board and you know that their battleground isn't Hahn territory anymore.

"Filibuster away, Anti-Antonios..."

Go back to high school civics class ADV-lover and look up the definition of "filibuster" -- if you're going to pretend to be some kind of expert on political matters, you should at least understand some of its most basic terms. If someone was "filibustering" you wouldn't have the opportunity to post 1000 word rants like that.

Get a clue, hero-worshipper. Your boy is getting pretty much the same endorsements as he did 4 years ago, after getting pretty much the same percentage of the primary votes as he did 4 years ago. Most pundits expected him to to win 4 years ago, based on all these same factors (and the undying admiration of the same kind of blind, love-sick puppies like you).

It all looks SO much like last time, ADV is pissing in his pants. When he gets beat again, his career is over (and he can't GET a paying job in anything but politics).

Not to mention, his campaign team will NEVER work again, after they drag ADV through ths same embarrassment, again. Hell, they might get so poor they'll have to MOVE to CD14.

Maxine Waters will only hurt Tony with her endorsement. Valley people and Westsiders don't like Maxine at all. They also think she is more than looney and fell off the deep end way back when. This is a woman who lobbied hard against Wal-Mart yet has done nothing about crime in her area. She only comes out when there's a camera or some emotional tirade in the South. Then she comes off like a woman who is pms'ing big time. Agree she loves those black rappers

More proof that Tony V. -- unable to create a broad (and deep) base of support, just keeps digging a hole for himself, deeper and narrower in the ultra-lefties camp. He's like Pacino in Godfather III - tries to pretend to be "moderate" enough to get more votes from ANYONE to the right of Jim Hahn on the ideological scale, and just keeps getting "pulled back in" to the 40-45 percenters club he inhabited in runoff 2001. "I'm "moderate" enough, and here's MAXINE WATERS to prove it to you." Hoooo-ha!

Sorry ADV, the hole's too deep to get out now. You will never be mayor of L.A., just a two-time loser with THE most distressed, star-struck following of the far-left 1/3 of the city. They'll be like the Kerry weirdos that had to go to extra counseling sessions for weeks after Bush won, and were considering suicide. Hide the rat poison.
