Speculation
Reliable sources are reporting another indictment is coming down as soon as Thursday. Who? They're working their way up the food chain was what our tipster told us. Stay tuned.
This is the city: Los Angeles, California. I work here. I'm an ex-mayor. Los Angeles is a magnet for people from all over the world. Some of them run for public office. Inevitably some of them stray from the golden rule and rule for those that have the gold. That's when I go to work. My name is Yorty. I'm a dead pol.

Lots of closed door meetings going on here. There are a few long faces. Something is definately afoot. Whispers are past or even current JH personnel are on the hot sit and have been hobnobbing with outside attorneys and.... city attorneys....
Stay tuned...

Wow this is getting good. I hope they go after the Harbor Commissioners (J.A. for example)

FROM: CITY GUY
I was told its Dowie. But I don't know for sure.

The indictment of more private citizens, like Doug Dowie, would not be harmful to the Mayor. Everyone at Fleishman Hillard should fry for defrauding the City.

Fact is folks, you could put just about any other professional services firm doing business with the city -- PR, law firm, accounting, etc. -- under this kind of "bill-by-the-hour" microscope and begin handing out tons of indictments without too much trouble. The bigger and more hierachical the firm, the more they pad to justify the big salaries and fees. It ain't right -- but it's epidemic.
Remember the joke about the lawyer who gets to the Pearly Gates and St. Peter says "Oh my, I see you're 147 years old?" "No, just 61," says the legal eagle. "Oh," says St. Pete, "Sorry, I was looking at your billable hours."

We're not talkin' about indictments of "private citizens" but corporate sponsors of Hahn's administration. No matter how you try to spin this, more indictments hurt Hahn.
Next Dowie, then commissioners, then Troy . . . . yikes.
And NO, fact is that most other firms DON'T lie on their billing and suggesting that Fleishman just happened to be the one to get caught is the real joke.

Been there, seen it, exposed some. It's rampant, and the Controller Chick is missing far more than she's catching.

I agree with the previous poster. I am aware of this happening with other companies. I think FH was just so flagrant and arrogant that it was only a matter of time.
And I also think Doug is next, although I wouldn't put McOsker far behind. He dictated policy over there on the 3rd floor...

Didn't Dowie come from the Daily News? Has this been part of the story anywhere?

If indictments are handed down later than say February 7-10, the people, the voters of Los Angeles, will see this entire affair as nothing more than a political move a la Starr/Clinton. And Hahn will be reelected.

What are you smokin? First, suggesting that Hahn and Clinton are remotely similar, aside from being male, is hysterically funny. Second, this is not a meandering sex scandal but a "pay-to-play" scandal with money that belongs to taxpayers. Voters know the difference.
I give you credit for trying though.

I am not smoking what you are selling, that's for sure. But I admit that there is an awful stink at FH and probably a foul odor at City Hall. But don't tell me this isn't part of some smear campaign. Rumor, innuendo and outright lies. I remember hearing a couple of weeks ago that "tomorrow" Doug Dowie, Leland Wong, and three more were being indicted! And, now Chick is "missing far more than she is catching." And Tim McOsker is the next? Right, give me a break!
