LA Observed Dirty Dig At Hertzberg?
We really hate to keep going after other blogs, but while Mailander provides us with amusement, Kevin Roderick at LA Observed has us puzzled.
Kevin - a great journalist with years of experience - has a great site. Its a blog no doubt, but its chock full of all kinds of cool information about LA. Of course, as Valley natives, we love his America's Suburb book and website.
Some have accused him of carrying Hahn's water, but it just may that he is an LA type of guy. He's certainly welcome to vote for any candidate he wants (though we do question the sanity of anyone no matter how otherwise intelligent who would vote for James Hahn) .
What puzzles us is the latest of his series in dissecting the latest of the LA Times series dissecting the candidates for Mayor, this one shedding light on Bob Hertzberg.
Roderick makes a clear point of pointing out that Hertzberg - in dropping his million dollar a year attorney job to run for office - wanted to take his boys out of private school and reduce his child support payments (since his income had dropped, fair enough. It should be noted that given the reduction in child support the lifestyle of Hertzberg, his wife Dr. Cynthia Telles and his former wife would hardly put the boys in poverty). I also think Hertzberg had a belief that as a public servant, his children should attend public schools like average citizens.
We make no claims that Bob Hertzberg is a saint (Roderick and the Times both point out that Hertzberg sued his own father over the dissoulution of their law practice) and we have yet to decide if he is the one we want to take Jim Hahn's spot (yes Mayor Sam is eyeing all four of the other candidates - sorry Walter & Billy). We just wonder what Roderick's beef is with Hertzberg.
But then again - we're daily dropping bombs on Jim Hahn, Tony Villar and once in a while on Bitter Bernie. So who are we to talk? Blog away dum dums and now get ready for 73 posts on how slimy ADV is.

IMHO, it seems that Mayor Sam is carrying BH's water much more than Kevin Roderick, who has been very judicious is punching through everyone's BS, from JH to AV to BH. I simply don't see how you could be puzzled.
I'm back around and hope to be posting more soon. I'm hungry for some MEAT.
