Villaraigosa’s Wife Stomps Mayor?

VillaraigosaThe folks over at Tony Villar's campaign are going after Jimmy Hahn's manhood I guess. The dum dum as Meat would say gambled he could flake on the politically potent Sherman Oaks Homeowner's Association latest meeting in order to sneak over into Antonio territory (while Antonio was in Sherman Oaks with the other candidates) to wrest the Northeast Democratic Club endorsement. Instead he found himself face to face with Tony's wife Corina (who must be the one who contributed the "Raigosa" to his stage name) who did an excellent job of getting the Democrats to endorse Tony.

Well he didn't manage to get the endorsement and he managed to piss off the Sherman Oaks folks to no end. I suppose they're going for their fellow SO resident Hertzberg anyway. Jimmy Hahn got elected with the support of the Black community and the Valley. Seems as if he will have neither this year. You better hope Contreras can pull some magic out of his hat for you Poopy.

Maybe Poopy should have sent his wife to Northeast, oh never mind, forgot. (The preceding was an effort to follow Mickey Kaus' advice on how to spice up LA politics.)

In the meantime, lets give the Tony Villar folks some spotlight since they were nice enough to send this press release to us:

Los Angeles – Jim Hahn must have thought he could pull a fast one on his opponents last week in the race for Los Angeles Mayor.

Last Wednesday Hahn ditched yet another debate in the San Fernando Valley, this time standing up the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association.

Instead, he made a personal appearance at the Northeast Democratic Club’s endorsement meeting. But while hiding from his opponents, he ran into a more formidable foe – Corina Villaraigosa.

Speaking on behalf of her husband, Corina outlined plans to provide leadership for Los Angeles and restore trust in City government. After the speeches, 72% of northeast Democrats voted to endorse Villaraigosa.

When he heard about the endorsement, Antonio Villaraigosa was humbled. “I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Northeast Democratic Club,” Villaraigosa said. “Corina is the best spokesperson I could have – if she were running against Jim Hahn, he wouldn’t have a chance.”

Let's talk about Antonio's support in the Northeast. This is what the official spokesman of the Northeast Democratic Club wrote in an email just this past Saturday (January 22, 2005): "Antonio's support in NELA ( Northeast Los Angeles) is tenuous and we have to be careful about message because it can open up this torrent of criticism if his supporters come across too cocky."

Also, Mr. Villaraigosa failed to get the endorsement of the East Los Angeles democrats and we now learn that his support in Northeast Los Angeles is "TENUOUS". Things don't look too good for Antonio.

Thank you to the person that called the hypocrite out. Either way, I paraphrase a former L.A.T. editor that appeared on KCRW last week to comment on the Mickey Kaus critique in the paper. He said Tony V. is 'charming.' To get the full effect, you needed to hear his tone, but anyone that understands irony in the most basic form knows he was hinting at more than Villar's charming personality. Corina's decision to stay married to a moron aside (its her call, really, I'm sure she has her reasons for her actions, all of her actions), I've heard the same rumors, as have many other people in politics. Instead of calling out blog posters, we should call on Tony to absolve himself and answer people's questions. Hell, if we can talk about Jimmy's marriage (or lack thereof, or problems governing during his separation), we should be able to talk about Tony's alleged extra cirricular activities.

Ok, let's get back to the real topic.

Jim Hahn is disrespecting those portions of the Valley that elected him last time and additionally those in the Valley who are supporting him NOW !!!

He refuses to attend debates, won't provide reasons why, then requests meetings ALONE....and is trying to interrupt the process.

The Encino Chamber who is having their debate mid February...has received assurances from all the other major candidates they will be there....Hahn declined. The Woodland Hills Chamber who also is having a debate that same mid February, has also received assurances from all the other major candidates that they will be there. Hahn.....another non starter.

Talk about lack of respect for those he represents, lack of respect for business communities and a lack of respect for the political process.

The people of the Valley....in addition to the Sherman Oaks Homeowner's Association, hopefully won't forget on election day.

What a stupid man, campaign manager, etc. While Hahn doesn't mind hiring a Republican Campaign Fundraiser who offices in the Valley, call from her Sherman Oaks office for funds, use her Republican list to try to get money from the Valley people who supported Riordan and others....... he never can seem to make it to the Valley to speak to the people who will elect him. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.

Mayor Sam, could you find out from his scheduler the 'conflicts' that prevent him from attending these evens. One is on Feb. 15th and the other on Feb. 16th, I think the flyer's said. One is in the lunch time and another at night !!!

VALLEY FOLKS DON'T FORGET !!!!!!

The real reason the Mayor did not get the endorsement of the Northeast Democratic Club is he has done nothing for the Northeast. When was the last time anyone has seen the Mayor on the East side? If he thinks he can come in and steal the endorsement from Antonio, he is sadly mistaken. A 70% endorsement after the Mayor showed up is a slap in the face to Hahn.

The reason why the Mayor's staff/commissioners are attacking other candidates in this manner is because they can't face the fact that they are incapable of running a City and/or campaign in an ethical way. Every single appointed person is going to lose their job when their good old Mayor is defeated. And they deserve to lose their jobs. There is so much unethical stuff going down that it's disgusting to see it right before your eyes. Obviously the JH supporters/staff aren't looking at what's in the best interest of the city. They're just trying to save their ass. It's all self serving and it's sickening and they are using city resources to do it. Why else would they herd themselves (some in City vehicles), use city equipment and city time to prevent an endoresement at the LA Young Democrat meeting last Thursday. There is a lot at stake for them. Stupid people will get nowhere but in trouble. I'm sure Ethics is checking out this websit along with ITA and tracking all the posters that think they can get away with doing this on City time. Why don't you appointed/exempt folks try to get into the City by taking an entrance exam? City employees are sick and tired of seeing this bullshit. We have never seen crap like this in City hall, atleast not in my 30 years with the City. One more thing, the great thing about this site is that the employees know most of these folks are short timers because of term limits. This site has spread among the "regular" city employees like crazy and believe me, we are trying to convince every voter to vote for "anyone but Hahn". We are sick of the arrogance, the rudeness and immaturity by these folks. Thank goodness for term limits because a lot of us employees are looking forward to a new group of ethical folks to get the City back in shape. Remember "anyone but hahn".

Let's talk about who will be the next person to get indicted for fraud and/or corruption? Those exempt folks on the 3rd floor need to wake up and smell what's cookin', do their job and stop f#$%ing around. Make the city a better place. Your reputation is making all of us employees look real bad.

Here goes MEAT:

I'm sure Villaraigosa's wife did a good job talking about the man she knows, so let me share with you the man we should all know. The following is how I would describe Villaraigosa. For everyone's sake I have provided sources for all my conclusions.

LIAR >> VILLARAIGOSA LIES TO CONSTITUENTS ABOUT NOT HAVING MONEY FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS AFTER BEING SWORN IN:
Villaraigosa entered the council and told everyone he didn’t have money to support community projects because Pacheco took it all. He lied; he had around $800,000.00 in his political account -- “Friends of Villaraigosa 2006” -- and could have used it to support community groups.

FAILURE >> VILLARAIGOSA FAILS TO MOVE ON MOON CANYON CAUSING GAP IN FINANCING ACQUISITION:
Villaraigosa fails to move on the eminent domain of Moon Canyon and thus causes the Spring 2003 appraisal to be obsolete. His failure causes a requirement for a new appraisal and a higher price comes in for the property. Villaraigosa staffers lie to community members and he tries to blame Pacheco for not leaving any money or not enough money to complete project. The original allotment of $550,000.00 is well over the original appraised value of $400,000.00 for land. If he really cared he could use some of the amenities money he used for Para Los Ninos already.

UNTRUSTWORTHY >> VILLARAIGOSA BREAKS VOW NOT TO RUN FOR MAYOR:
It can’t be said enough about how Villaraigosa is simply using his seat for his own political ambition.

Boulevard Sentinel Article from Villaraigosa supporter disgusted with his broken promise:

LIAR >> VILLARAIGOSA LIES ABOUT SECURING TRAFFIC SIGNAL IN FRONT OF EL SERENO SENIOR CENTER:
Villaraigosa has been known to take credit for the work of others. It is rumored that he has told people that he got the traffic signal in front of the El Sereno Senior Center for the late Paul Salaz, past Honorary Mayor of El Sereno. DOT records indicate that this traffic signal was paid for and scheduled for placement 3 years before he entered into office.

FLIP FLOPPER >> VILLARAIGOSA “FLIP FLOPS” ON LOCAL TAX FOR COPS
Villaraigosa runs around telling people he opposes a local tax for cops, but when he had a chance to vote on it in Council he supported a local tax for cops.

SCHEMER >> VILLARAIGOSA DUPES NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL FOR $1,000.00:

Field Deputy Dora Garcia recently attended the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council claiming poverty on the part of the Council Office and requesting a $1,000.00 from the Neighborhood Council’s $50,000.00 annual allotment. Dora failed at the executive board but succeeded at the general membership meeting. The entire time this was transpiring the Councilmember was sitting on at least $226,000.00 dollars in an amenities fund for CD 14.

This motion outlines the how the amenities trust fund came to exist.

Okay, MEAT, you see Antonio one way, and for the above reasons I choose to see who he really is underneath all those smarmy smiles.

I don't think too many people will want to waste their time debating you FAT boy. Will you have to keep stopping while Antonio and his people tell you what to say? I mean it took you 3 or 4 weeks to think of that lame ass excuse for not naming neighborhood watches. And FAT boy, you are way out of left field with those bar owners. The recall hasn't got any money from them - or any other bar owners! As for the northeast dems. Even the club spokesman said Antonio's support is "tenuous" in the northeast. Antonio supporters are suddenly making Hahn's people look professional.

Villaraigosa’s Luster Has Dimmed Second Time Around
By HOWARD FINE - 1/24/2005

....Now as the 52-year-old former Assembly speaker-turned-city councilman nears the final stretch of his second try for mayor, even his closest friends and allies say the magic is missing. The crowds are smaller, the endorsements fewer, and – most of all – the candidate lacks the charm that so captivated Angelenos four years ago.

Ok Meat, frankly your last posting stinks like spoiled Meat, with your name calling and your innuendos. Shame on you for not caring about how you hurt Antonio's wife and family by your 'undocumented' crap.

Even if all you post is true, how can that possibly compare to the corruption under the Hahn administration, the misrepresentations(you call lies)by Hahn to the Valley, to the African American community and basically to all that he speaks to....he will promise anything to get money or supporters and when it is over.............do just the opposite to satisfy those others who may be able to get him more money.....and before you lose your mind and take off, let me tell you that I am not a Villaragosa supporter, I am not a secessionist, but here are a few of his misreprentations.....which you would call lies:

1. To get the Valley's support in the last Mayor's race he committed personally and publicly to NOT interfere with or oppose secession. He committed to remain neutral. RESULT: HE WASN'T TELLING THE TRUTH AND CAME OUT AGGRESSIVELY AGAINST SECESSION. SO MUCH AGAINST SECESSION THAT IT WAS THE FUNDRAISING FOR SECESSION THAT HAS CREATED THE 'PAY FOR PLAY' SCANDAL AND THE COUNTY AND FEDERAL GRAND JURY INVESTIGATIONS WHICH HAVE NOW LED TO ONE INDICTMENT SO FAR IN A RELATED AREA.

2. To get the African American communitie's vote, during the last election, he committed to Chief Bernard Parks personally, and publicly at events to support the Chief for his second term. RESULTS: HE INAPPROPRIATELY INTERFERED WITH THE CITY CHARTERS REQUIREMENT THAT THE COMMISSION MAKE THE RECOMMENDATION ON THE CHIEF'S RETENTION AND NEW CONTRACT, SHORTCIRCITED THE LEGAL PROCESS AND ANNOUNCED IN ADVANCE OF THE COMMISSION DOING THEIR JOB THAT HE WOULDN'T REAPPOINT THE CHIEF. SINCE HE APPOINTS THE COMMISSIONERS..........WHAT DOES HE THINK THEY WOULD DO. HE HIJACKED THE PROCESS.

3. In order to get strong Valley support, he committed to David Fleming, a philanthropist and well respected Valley resident, to reappoint his as President of the Fire Commission, if reelected. Fleming, believing the Mayor a man of his word not only endorsed Hahn in the run off, but actively and aggressively raised funds and support for the Mayor and significantly assisted his election. RESULTS: IMMEDIATELY AFTER HIS ELECTION, THE 'HONEST' MAYOR, SUMMARILY DISMISSED FLEMING FROM HIS POSITION, DIDN'T HAVE THE 'SACK' TO TELL FLEMING HIMSELF.....AND REFUSED TO TAKE HIS CALLS WHEN A SHOCKED AND DISAPPOINTED FLEMING TRIED TO CALL TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY. ENDS UP THE UNION DIDN'T LIKE FLEMING AND THE UNION MEANT MCKOSKER'S(HAHN'S CHIEF OF STAFF)BROTHER WHO WAS AN OFFICER OF THE UNION AND WANTED HIS OWN COMMISSIONERS APPOINTED.

......and the list goes on and on and on.

SO MEAT......FRESHEN UP BECAUSE YOUR COMMENTS SMELL A BIT ROTTEN. . . . . LIKE A DEPUTY MAYOR WHO NOW WORKS FOR HAHN. REMEMBER HISTORY SAYS THAT WHEN YOUR NO LONGER NEEDED YOU TOO WILL BE DUMPED FOR SOMEONE OF 'MORE VALUE'.

Okay dum-dums lets explain things here yet once again. If you post stuff about people's kids that is rude or mean, it will go. If you post blatant speculation like "so and so is cheating on his wife" it will go. However, if its something that is public knowledge like Hertzberg's divorce or Hahn's seperation, its a totally different thing. As well, silly high school stuff like "so and so was seen holding hands with so and so." may stay. And finally, because this blog has really taken off and I don't have the time to read every single post, we miss some from time to time.

If you can't stand any bad news about your beloved Jim Hahn, I suggest you stick to reading Lisa Whelchel's blog which is all about butterflies and love.
