What's the Haps, Man?

weatherAnyone that's a regular Mayor Sam reader knows the Los Angeles Times is running an experimental column inviting critics to take their best shot at the city "self styled" heaviest newspaper. Mickey Kaus believes the Times should print more gossip, thereby making politics more entertaining and politicians more human to voters. The Mayor has kept me busy writing this week, with his housing proposal meant to benefit police without actually providing the city more of them, his legal defense fund to fight allegedly, supposedly false corruption charges, his turn as a pothole filler, and his loss of the county D.N.C's endorsement. Antonio has also maintained a busy schedule, fighting with his colleague Tony Cardenas over which one of them wants to turn El Toro Marine Airport into a commercial airport more, also losing the county D.N.C. endorsement, and proposing a housing initiative I still can't decipher. I'm tired of writing about shady dealings and lame proposals, I need a break.

Let's take a tip from Mickey, but write about actual gossip. Anyone have the inside tip as to why Brad and Jen split up? Anyone have good gossip from the Golden Globes? On a lighter, but more substantive note, anyone have a good movie tip? What's the best place to see and be seen this weekend? Anyone know of any good concerts, shows, museum exhibits, or free events? What's the best way to enjoy the weather this weekend?

I just got the biggest laugh of the week. Have any of you read the b.s. posts on Antonio's website? How insulting for him to actually think we're that stupid to believe ALL the posts are great and positive on him. I'm sure all the crap that is written about him here is posted over there only to be removed by MEAT. Antonio is looking 30 years older these days. Maybe he should have some botox injected. I think the stress is getting to him.

Chief Parker what did you do to MEAT? He doesn't post here anymore. Probably been too busy trying to figure out what his boss AV is going to do next. It was embarrassing hearing what Jill Stewart said on Channel 9 after Sherman Oaks debate about AV not being focused, stumbling, losing his train of thought, not having a message etc. She also said doesn't look as if there's any front runners out there to go heads w/Jimmy.

GOSSIP, IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES ? ! ?

You kidding, we cannot even find out why our Mayor and his wife separated or divorced(if they did)....so we as voters can ascertain whether or not his moral and ethical personal values are those that we wish to have as part of the character of our Mayor !!!

Why, why write about Bob Hertzberg's divorce and child support hearing, when he was always supporting his kids and NOT the separation and/or divorce of the Mayor of our Great City?

So, Mayor Sam.....or anyone, why the breakup? Someone cheating? Someone not caring? Someone with other personal preferences? Any spousal abuse? ETC.

They Mayor doesn't hesitate to get 'dirty' as shown by his last campaign 'crack pipe ad', his last campaign staff's allegations about Villaragosa's personal life, etc. WHAT IS THE STORY?

Oh, and this isn't about his kids, it is about the life of the Mayor who wants to lead this City. If he doesn't like the heat and doesn't want to share......he should get out of the kitchen and OUR City Hall !!

Previous blogger-what exactly is wrong with you? You are probabley a sexually inept person with no kids of your own. Who cares about Hertzberg's divorce-he is married now, happily it seems, right? The past is the past. Hahn's divorce-if he in fact is divorced-is most likely painful for him and his kids and LIKE HERTZBERG"S DIVORCE bears no credence in this race.

If you disagree, perhaps a little reminder of some of the other candidates pecadillos need to be posted.

Its really sad when you want to go down this road. Countries like London, France, Italy are notorious for exploiting their politicans and famous people. Have we really gotten so bored with all the issues here in our city like 15% of the homeless now on skid row are children and women, no housing for hard working americans who can't afford $400,000 on their first home etc. etc. Get a life you sorry people
