LA Web Watch

hahnYes Mack, we are proud to join with you in watching Mayor Hahn's non-existent website for SOME sign of life. And we do hope you buy a bumper sticker, which is a bargain at any price.

RuizWe've also been watching the website of the Board of Public Works. And moving at the same lightning speed as Jim Hahn's web team, the BPW still lists the lovely and talented Cynthia Ruiz as a Commissioner some 42 days after she was unceremoniously dumped from the panel by Mayor James "Poopy" Hahn - and some 20 days after the not so lovely Yolanda Fuentes was confirmed by the City Council.

Lastly the topic of web inactivity brings us to Forkush's Rye Street Bridge Blog. Shortly after Forkush won a slight victory when Councilwoman Wendy Greuel re-opened his bridge (during daylight hours only) he seems to have gone dark. His last post - almost a month ago - was about his attempt to become the top ranked Wendy Greuel website. Bridge Boy's hope is that should Wendy plan to run for Controller or Mayor in 2009, anyone doing a Google search (or whatever the hot new search engine is then) will hit the story of the bridge wars of 2004 first. All of which has lead me as the owner of this blog to make an editorial decision - Forkush will be de-listed as a local blog and moved to the gadfly section, in good company with Hal Netkin and Leonard Shapiro.

Sorry Bridge Boy, it's called "play to play."

Good decision, Mayor Sam. Bridge Boy is not worthy of any website link. He can not even thank Gruel for the fine work and effort that she does for the community and the City of Los Angeles. She is one of the City Council leaders and should remain in City Government as a breath of fresh air !!

I agree. I don't agree with Wendy's stand on the Studio City Golf site and I think she got too far involved in the bridge thing, but overall she has been terrific. I hope she is Mayor some day. She would be a million times better than what we have today and she would be a far better mayor than ANY of the candidates currently running.

PS: Rather than excise him completly , we've lumped Bridge Boy with Hal Netkin and the rest of the looneys for good measure. Forkush had the opportunity to have a really nice blog, he could have even had the Franklin Avenue of Sherman Oaks, but he went way too far, and then he dropped out of site. At least his site is good for a laugh. Maybe I'll start a pro-Wendy blog to compete with him for Google space.

Mayor Sam I'm appalled at your choice of words. IF Cynthia and Yolanda were men would you be so bold as to state "the lovely and not so lovely?" Yolanda Fuentes has more experience in her pinky. You compare the two resumes and Yolanda by far is much more experienced. Again, Cynthia has no one to blame but herself for using her position as a commissioner to openly campaign for Tony Villar. Why aren't you putting the article in LA Times yesterday on the mayoral candidates websites? The fact that Tony Villar is using a Bob Dole solgan on his. The Hertzberg controversy on the paid ad he had posted on his website etc.etc.

Dude, take a chill pill. It's called humor. And the website issue . . . . c'mon! No one cares that AV's slogan is similar to Dole's (and if you hate AV then you should be happy . . . Dole lost). Hertzberg with an ad on a conservative website . . . so what?! I'm sure you drink Coors. With all due respect, Mayor Hahn, leave the blogging to your staffers.

Meat and CD14Lover I'm smiling...Read them and weep...Los Angeles Business Journal...Polling thus far – virtually all of it internal to the individual campaigns – shows Hahn and L.A. City Councilmen Villaraigosa and Parks each getting at least 20 percent. Hahn generally gets the highest percentage – between 25 percent and 30 percent – followed by Villaraigosa and then Parks in the low 20 percent range.

Both former Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg and state Sen. Richard Alarcón trail significantly, either in the high single-digits or in the teens, depending on the poll.

What the hell does Tony Villar have to do with this?

Would I refer to men as lovely? No, I am not homosexual. I don't find men attractive. If you do, more power to you. This is America, I don't care who you diddle or who you marry.

I find Cynthia quite easy on the eyes. Not so for Tony Villar or Yolanda.

Yolanda is a loud mouth who got her ass kicked when she ran for assembly. She's only there because Hahn is playing politics and trying to kiss up to the other Tony.

And no, she is not hot.

Are we not politcally correct? No we are not. We are challenging the orthodoxy of the mindset in this city. Are we cavemen - no not at all. Everyone has the right to puruse their opportunities with basic respect. But we don't buy into liberal group think. Liberals are supposed to be individualistic and freedom loving. You think they would appreciate that!

Mayor Sam you need to get with the times. Back in your day you could say whatever you wanted to women. In fact you could even compliment their attributes. However, in this day and age women find men's comments insulting and revolting. Why do you think Nate Holden had so many sexual harrassement lawsuits? Now don't go off on me about humor, liberalism, etc. If a man wasn't handsome you would not write that but you and many men think its ok to with women. Intersting....Yes. I'm going to garggle with razor blades.

I would never say a man is handsome cause I don't swing that way if you know what I mean.

But if you said Bitter Bernie was handsome that would be your right and I would not stand in your way.

The thing that makes Yolanda not hot most of all is her attitude. Stuck up. On the other hand, Cindy Montanez is just the nicest person (though one hell of a socialist!).

As you guys try to figure out sexual ambiguities, I have a question... Is it true that as Hahn was dumping Bernie a reporter asked him why Bernie was so popular and Hahn said because he's good looking? That raises some questions, if true. Somebody help me out. It's supposedly in an article somewhere.

Where does anyone get off saying Cynthia was openly campaigning? She was doing her job for the City. The only reason she was let go was the Mayor cut a deal with Cardenas over the Prop O money. As for her experience? 30 years of working in the community beats out Yolanda, is Yolanda even thirty?

Unless you are Cynthia, what do you know she was doing up until she was asked to resign? (And she is now working for Antonio at his campaign office.) But I think her job security went out of the window when Villaraigosa broke his promise to Hahn (and everybody else, including Miguel) to not run for Mayor. So, if anybody is to blame , try pointing a finger at Antonio.

Cynthia Ruiz was openly campaigning for Tony as a city commissioner. Commissioners are not suppose to use their positions politically. She was at a Veterans meeting in front of everyone saying what a great job Tony has done and why he should be mayor. Lots of people heard her. She was suppose to be talking about her job as commissioners and what the city has to offer residents.

Excuse me but Cynthia has never been to any of the Boyle Heights meetings. No one even knew who the hell she was. IF she was doing her job the right way people who are active and would have known she was a commissioner. She did absolutely nothing for Boyle Heights as a commissioner.

Manny stop. (C14Lover) We all know this is you and you have it out for the Mayors rep on the Eastside Area. We all know it and many don't agree with you. Stop blaming the Mayor for your personal vendetta with her. People like her work and she's done good things for organizations like Dolores Mission.

Sadley I'm posting this anonymously because like you all I don't have the cojones to reveal myself. Lets just say that there is a big problem with latinos in our city. "Can't we all get along?" Obviously not, shame on all you latinos fighting against each other instead of uniting. Anyone who pays attention will know that Cynthia did a great job. Why do you think there was so much anger and resentment towards the mayor among employees she worked with. They saw her dedication. Everyone knows those positions are political. Who are we kidding? But aren't the commissioners supposed to look out for the community? Obviously Mayor Hahng is looking out for himself. What we need in the City is for people to stop being so self serving. What's wrong with everyone? Hahng knows exactly what he's doing. How clever for him and his staff to support the clash of latinos so that the great divide will hurt the other latino candidates and help him. I don't think it will help because employees do not support him. Maybe unions do but they don't follow employees to the voting poll. Looks like Parks will win by default because anyone in their right mind will not and should not vote for Mayor Hahng. Is anyone paying attention or are they waiting 4 years so they can take the reins?

Dude take a chill pill. People like you are an embarrassement to well educated, intelligent, articulate Latinos like me. Stop the racist tone. Accept the fact that Cynthia got busted for campaigning and had to resign..end of story. If you think for one minute Bitter Bernie has a chance in hell go to his district and talk to his constituents. They can't stand him because he's not for the working class. Also accept the fact that there are many Latinos citywide who are going to vote for Hahn whether you and anyone else are in denial. He has growing support. All the other candidates have been doing is slamming Hahn at every meeting and people are getting tired of it. If they had a vision they would have something else to talk about but they dont.

Hey Meat and CD14LOver. this is what your bright candidate said to press today after getting minor endorsement....A clean environment is the foundation of a livable community," the Eastside councilman said during a news conference outside the Department of Water and Power's downtown headquarters. "It's not a luxury. It is a necessity." What a lame ass! Doesn't he know that public safety is what makes a community livable. All he knows how to do is pick up a broom

Antonio took money from the neighborhood councils when he already had about $700,000 in his old campaign and used $500,000 of that money for Measure A. C'mon loverboy you are in denial. Your councilman is a scumbag.
