CONGRATS Mayor Sam! You rank #8 in Yahoo for a search on Walter Moore. I gave up looking for Walter's own site in the listing when I got to page 16. Boy from troi is number 1 for Walter Moore.

Seems to me he has a pretty good one at www.lacity.org/mayor/ I bet all the other candidates would prefer that to what they have already.

With a bunch of clowns running against me I have plenty of time to read and post to Mayor Sam. Hey, whay about Mayor Jim? Maybe I'll start a blog with all the free time I have. I mean, Antonio is nowhere the man he was 4 years ago. What was his excuse for running? The city was in a crisis. Haha. Tell that to Miguel. How does Antonio explain to his constituents, the poor people of the 14th District, that he had to abandon them because I had messed up so badly when the County Fed endorses me and not him!

Except it is HIGHLY illegal for him to use his city website for campaign purposes (Not that it would stop him).

Antonio just launched a new site this morning as well:

Good old Mayor Hahn does not have his web site up and running. This just shows how out of touch he really is. He needs to get his head out of the clouds and start leading the City before he is replaced.

Remember when Beth Garfield used the pictures of "cops" in her mailers? A certain consultant (who just might be running Hertzberg's campaign) pilloried her for using fake cops in her stuff. www.Antonio2005.org has a cop that might be an actor, too. Think he'll do it again with this? (and Hertzberg better start hitting AV if he thinks he is going to get in the runoff...)

If the cop isn't an actor, it is illegal to use shots of city employees in uniform for campaign purposes. Either AV broke the ethics rules, or that cop is getting disciplined. Way to be law and order, AV.

Otherwise, a nice website, though where is the blog and the "vision" is pretty thin compared to four years ago. And negative. AV's strength was being positive. I like the tag line, though.

You're right--they don't produce votes. Necessarily. But they can be good for raising money. And if connected to an intelligent net strategy. Problem is, no one is running a very good net strategy (despite Hertzberg's heralded hiring of Joe Trippi, Dean's onetime guru).

Hertzberg is the only one coming close (Moore has done a little in this direction, but doesn't pass the netizen smell test when he can't even put a decent picture of himself up), but he is missing the critical last step.

Here are the steps to a successful net strategy (from one humble guy who helped do it for one of the major Democratic presidential campaigns):

1) Get a web site up that is both a) well-designed (but not overly-designed) and b) has good content.
2) Add user-involved features like a blog and regular updates and even a daily digest
3) Reach out to the netizens where they already are, not just as passive lamos who happen to be on the Internet--get into the big issues of the day that are already in other places

And don't forget to plug and plug and plug the web site.

So far, Hertzberg has blogged a couple of times, but who gives a hoot about the random people blogging if no one knows who they are. It would be one thing if people knew who Hertzberg was, but I bet his name i.d. is still comfortably in single digits. He needs to blog daily--it doesn't take much--and his staff should cross-fertilize on other sites, and not with just propaganda, but with some thoughtful stuff.

People got to have some ownership--that's what Dean built. I haven't seen Shallman give people any sense of ownership of this campaign or this candidate. Start some meetups to make the connection between cyberspace and real space.

No one else is going to do this. Until then, the netizen vote is up for grabs.....................

CD14Lover is that you Manny from Highland Park?I think its you. You're the only Antonio supporter in CD14. I just looked at the Villaraigosa 205 website. That officer is one of the actors in Tony's Measure A commercials. No REAL cop is going to put his career on the line for Tony. Secondly, what's up with all the photos of just Tony? Kind of arrogant I would say. Does Sheriff Baca know that Tony has him on his website? He hasn't come out and endorsed Tony. Someone should ask Baca if he agreed for his photo to be used. Meat isn't out of town he's busy putting up this new website.

Well if Baca isn't going to endorse Antonio and if I were Baca I would be pissed that Antonio has my picture with him on his website. Someone should find out if that cop is LAPD. If he's not then again the sneaky Antonio is misleading the public insulting our intelligence. That looks like an actor for sure.

Antonio has the nerve to slam Hahn but this is the reason he won't win...In 1996, Mr. Villaraigosa wrote a letter asking the president for clemency for convicted drug dealer Carlos Vignali, a onetime rapper who was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for running a cocaine-smuggling ring.
Mr. Villaraigosa has accepted large campaign contributions from Vignali´s family, both before and after writing the letter.

AV and Hahn's staffs are posting like crazy here! And Mayor Sam you got mentioned on LA Voice again! He thinks your Dump Hahn stickers are too expensive, but I think $5 is a good investment to end the most corrupt administration in history! (Now lets not replace it with yet another corrupt one with Antonio - vote for Walter, Hertzberg, Bitter Bernie or Alarcone - anyone but Hahn or Villraigosa.
