Crack-Squad Detectives

Now that I have my detectives in place, let me start by responding to many of you who left messages for our dearly departed Fourth Floor Blogger (May they rest in peace).

Bonny Herman - You're on your own outing Boi From Troy. I don't mess with SC!

Sincerely - Go Dodgers! Those posts were true

Johnny - My boys are checking on the gaps in the city pension plan

Texan For Truth - The Cultural Affairs Dept. is fair game here

Meat - It's good to see you commented earlier. Maybe Carnivore will follow you here. Someone needs to get served up.

City Watcher - Grow Up. 'Ol Yorty couldn't have summed it up better. You want to post? Send me an e-mail at chiefwilliamparker@hotmail.com or him at mayorsamyorty@aol.com . We'll post, or you can comment!

Men In Black - The McOsker's up to no good. Say it isn't so. We'll get to the bottom of this.

LACO - While we have no dead Supervisors yet, my boys have contacts there as well.

To everyone else, keep the tips coming.

Dallas officials set aside city rules in choosing an architectural firm for a $500,000 cultural arts project, apparently in an attempt to appease the program's director, according to a city auditor's report.

The audit, released to the Dallas City Council late Friday, found that cultural affairs director Margie Reese pressured the five-member selection committee into recasting its scores several times because the company she preferred - Johnson McKibben Associates - did not come

Please consider an investigation....interesting message....if you will consider an investigation of the
Cultural Affairs Dept, and clean out the Senior Management.....you will have my support. This place is a quagmire....ask any of the employees, past or present, who are not sycophants....or even Commissioners who have worked with CAD since the new General Manager arrived from Dallas. One has to question the vetting process conducted by our previous mayor.

In the view of many, the General Manager is just sticking it out in Los Angeles until she is vested...then back to Texas, with Los Angeles taxpayers stuck with the bill for years to come. .

I understand her husband has returned to a law firm in Texas....from what I am told, he did not work as a lawyer here, (I do not know if he took the bar) but for American Express, for a time,...an ethics complaint was filed re his soliciting business from Cultural Affairs employees at a dinner hosted in their home. I do not know the results of this complaint.

Further, I understand other ethics complaints have been filed re various financial activities and contracts with Texas firms, doing work for Cultural Affairs in Los Angeles...with creative methods of payment. Also, check out the foreign travel schedule of CAD.

Finally , various requests have been made of Controller Chick to audit Cultural Affairs...and this may well be under way. As you may know, confidentially is maintained by the Controller in these matters, or so I have been told by
her Audit Division.

More evidence for the termination of the entire department. Maybe Poopy will do it.
