LAPD Hollenbeck's Crime Stats trumps CD 14 Political Support regaiding Big Saver Market ABC LIcense Requested Upgrade

We bring you another "Do as I Say, Don't Do as I Get Contributions for Enabling Moment" from CD 14 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Jose "The Tonto Huevon" Huizar as his support for a ABC Liquor Upgrade for the El Sereno's Big Saver Market, runs into a Stonewall of startling LAPD Crime Stats.
No previous pronouncement from "The Tonto Huevon", can withstand the need of enabling favors, in return for campaign support.

We hope sincerely that the following statement was not merely a shallow "Coca Puff" via Clowncilman Huizar Longtime Communications Director Rick Coca, from the July 31, 2014 Edition of the Eastern Group Publications (EGP) ........., “Our objective is to limit and decrease the number of (alcohol) licenses” in Hollenbeck.

For some in the community, this request is a no brainer, considering that the Owner of the Big Saver Market Chain Uka Solanki, has been a long time business owner, served on the Board of Directors of Barrio Action and donated to numerous community events. This should of been a mere formality, especially with Clowncilman Huizar's blessing.
But with the self-noting Princeton Graduate on record in not normally supporting Full Liquor Upgrades for Super Markets, yesterday's proceeding in front of Hearing Officer Albert Landini, was an affirmation why the CD 14 Officeholder should keep his word ......., especially in a tough reelection year.

Hollenbeck Senior Lead Officer Oscar Cassini and Vice Sargent Barragan testifying against ABC License Upgrade.
Within the last few years, the LAPD Hollenbeck Division has worked with Alcohol Justice Advocates, Neighborhood Councils, Community-Based Organizations, along with Clowncil Districts 1 and 14, to lower the number of ABC Licenses in its jurisdiction.
Generally, its has been the policy of the Hollenbeck Division Leadership, not to recommend new ABC Licenses within its area. If a party wanted to open an establishment that sold beer, wine or spirits, it was STRONGLY recommended that they find someone or entity within the Hollenbeck area who was willing to sell their existing license if they wanted LAPD to give them their recommendation.
In the case of the El Sereno Big Saver, they had made arrangements to purchase a full ABC License from a Fresh and Easy Market in Lancaster. Thus, you would think that the store chances of getting approval would be dim .........., but this is reelection time in CD-14.
Alcohol Justice Advocate Terry Marquez speaking against the License Upgrade.
The LA-32 Neighborhood Council, with current President Marleen Fonseca (formerly Terminated LAPD Civilian Employee Caudillo), forgoing the normal committee process (at CD-14 urging?), VOTED to return the issue of the License Upgrade to the appropriate committee.
This after numerous Stakeholders, express opposition or concerns, regarding the potential, adverse impacts on neighboring schools, rehab center, church and other businesses.
Big Saver Market, in collaboration with CD-14 Staff, held their own informational meeting at the El Sereno Library, with their community supporters present.
Sources tell us, that at the Library Meeting, El Sereno Bicentennial Parade Coordinator, LAPD Hollenbeck CPAB Member and now Clowncilman Huizar Staffer Genny "Godoy" Guererro, was overheard telling someone , that allegedly, she was going to talk to Captain Baeza about the issue (** The Big Saver Market has supposedly, donated money to the Bicentennial Committee).

LA-32 Land Use Committee Member Jorge Garcia (in Brown Shirt) speaking in support of Big Saver Market.
In hindsight, Guerrero would of found it more fruitful to contact the local patrol (** who she knows quite well  ......., as a CPAB Member) and vice officers, to ascertain the crime stats for the area along Huntington Drive, between Eastern and Poplar since January 1, 2014 ......., for they are quite telling (** over 500 Citations and 81 of them Alcohol-related).
The disclosed stats, mixed with opposition to the Upgrade (not to the current Beer and Wine License), was enough to warrant Hearing Officer Landini, to grant a seven day extension for all parties to submit written testimony.
Thus, a great day for the LAPD Hollenbeck Division (with kudos to Officers Cassini and Barragan) in pushing back on alcohol establishments ..........., and for Clowncilman Huizar? Remember to stand by your words ........., especially at Reelection Time.
Your thoughts ..............
Scott Johnson in CD 14
