New Group dedicated to Stopping the Bullies at Cesar Chavez Elementary School in El Sereno

Mayor Sam has been made aware of a group of concern "Cesar Chavez Elementary Stakeholders" who are discussing the "Bullying Proclivities" of a certain "Parent Volunteer" that resembles (or is) LA-32 Neighborhood Council Treasurer Michelle Corzantes (formerly Arroyo).

 Who needs a COSTCO donation of free photo development, when you can pay a certain "Parent Volunteer" (with cash and no receipt), to take your picture with Santa (allegedly)?

** Blogger's Note: As evident by the number of comments posted here at Mayor Sam, current LA-32 Neighborhood Council Treasurer and former Our Lady of Gradalupe "Youth Ministry/Confirmation Director" Michelle Corzantes (formerly Arroyo), is the center of cyber chatter about past ........, and now, current behavior as a "Parent Volunteer" at Cesar Chavez Elementary. According to numerous sources, Corzantes (who's husband Joshua "PJ" Corzantes condones Cyber Bullying), along with a small cadre of intimidating supporters, recently abolished the school's PTA and replaced it with their own "Friends of Cesar Chavez Elementary Non-Profit" controlled by the new LA-32 NC Treasurer. Rumors are abound of her "close relationship" with School Principal Heidi Acosta-Monteo, which has empowered Corzantes to exert an intimidating influence on (and off) campus. We have been made aware that undisclosed community members, banded together to set up an email page stopthebulliesofcesarchavezelem@yahoo.com , so those concerns about the current state of dysfunction at the school (which Principal Acosta-Monteo recently admitted, she has no control of), can clearly state their thoughts without fear of retaliation (kinda like the LAUSD School Police Officer that was targeted, allegedly by Corzantes). Please note, that the quotes below, regarding the school, came from comments posted at betterschools.org---Scott Johnson.

Mr. Assemblyman Gomez, can you tell us what happen to the turkeys from the School Cafeteria that were to with the Green Eggs (maybe a certain "Parent Volunteer" took them home, along with other cafeteria food, allegedly)?

I do not know what some of these people are talking about, but I know a parent that was volunteering there and she always kept watched and listen to what people say about each other and she never said a thing about what was going on until she realized that teachers do talk badly about each other and the volunteers and they still try to play it off like there is nothing wrong here. I feel said for the students here, because the teachers are followers and not leaders and it comes to mind to what are they teaching the students here. Test scores are low because some of the teachers here do not take the time to handle these students.

You too can be a certain "Parent Volunteer" who wears an official school orange vest without proper First Aid and CPR Training (allegedly), while attempting to get a LAUSD Police Officer terminated.

Under the current administrator Cesar Chavez ES has dropped in academic achievement, student enrollment and staff morale. She is highly influenced by a parent volunteer group and her decisions do not always benefit the students and staff. Volunteers are not monitored and are free to come on campus at any time. Parent volunteers are permitted to speak unkindly of staff members to others. District policy is upheld based on convenience. An active PTA was cancelled but a volunteer group has been allowed to fund raise. Equitable and fair treat for all students, staff and volunteers has not be demonstrated by the administrator.

Can parents or guardians of students at Cesar Chavez Elementary face "Expulsion" if they disagree with a certain "Parent Volunteer", who is known for not providing receipts for cash payments (or refunds), allegedly?

Cesar Chavez was on of the best run schools before the "parent volunteers" started volunteering & the principal was placed at this school. Chavez was known for its dedication towards motivating students to succeed in their educational goals, to be respectful, & for teaching children right from wrong. Chavez has dedicated a great amount of time in teaching students that bullying and harassment is absolutely intolerable, however with the new "leader" of the school & parent volunteers this dedication has gone out the window. I believe that this school has been struck with bad luck and poor judgement when these people took a step into the school. There is absolutely no authority, no leadership, no discipline, no love, and no respect for the teachers, students, and TA's. Wiser decisions needs to be made to benefit the children not the parents who want to become known to benefit themselves outside of school business. this school should be taken into serious consideration for review by the district to get better, wiser, educated personnel. to get parent volunteers who want the betterment of children and not themselves. Why were a certain "Parent Volunteer" and Cesar Chavez Elementary Principal Heidi Acosta Monteo (in scarf next to CD 14 Staffer Julio Esperias, at a past LA-32 NC Budget & Finance Meeting, supposedly in support of El Sereno Bicentennial Committee Member Genny Guerrero (as seen on video)?

So glad that we are taking our son out of this school. The principal at this school has got to go she really is a reason that we are pulling our son out of this school yes we will have to work harder to pay for a private school but in the end it will be the best for are son.to the rest of parents make this a charter school and you will see that your kids will be better off.

Principal has to go. She has no backbone. going to start a motion to change it to a charter school.
