As of 3 P.M. this afternoon, "The Tony Villar's First Cousin John (Perez) for Controller Campaign EKG Watch" is sounding the Flat-lining Alarm as its falls into third place behind Betty Yee by 3,000 votes. Today's tally of the ballots comes mostly from Northern California counties. Thus, if First Cousin John is to make the November Runoff, it will need to find a shock of voters in Southern California.

First Cousin John, 806,409 votes
David Evans, 787,453 votes
