The people who run these political slate mailers are trying to make money. They make it clear that the candidate has paid to be listed on the mailer. It is a cheap way to get the message out to large numbers of voters. The candidates who did not pay to be listed will regret it in the election. (i.e Eric Garcetti, Kevin James, and Carmen Trutanich)
