Pasty white bloggers might hit radio talker/Daily News op-ed penner Doug McIntryre as a pasty white guy, can't say the same about the family of Jamiel Shaw, a teen murdered by an illegal alien. The Shaws have been fighting for four years now to end the City's policy of not cooperating with immigration officials when illegal aliens are arrested. In the meantime, while the gang member who murdered Shaw has yet been brought to justice, he has engaged in additional crimes including attacking a Sheriff's deputy. What has the City Council been up to? Working on light bulbs and plastic bags.
A new book makes the case that shows such as Sesame Street and others covertly pump out left wing messages to children and others. Ya think?

Hatfield is saying the Mayor is likely going to back Garcetti.
What makes Garcetti any better than Greuel?
Garcetti is the leader of the Clowns. Greuel was only a Clown.
Greuel has already won city wide and has a higher name recognition.
The Times, DN, and local TV news, and a lot of the blogs, have given Garcetti a pass on his dismal record as Clowncil president. He gets praises for his iphone apps, but he hasn't done anything. He proved in the DWP fiasco that he became Clowncil President because he is corrupt.
Why isn't Krekorian running?
He has a better shot at winning than any of the Clowns.
He should get out of the Clowncil before the stench ruins his reputation. That is unless he wants this to be his last public job.
What does it matter whether Greuel knew about the Gold Card program as a City Councilmember? What's she supposed to do, keep it a secret forever? What if she found religion. The fact is that she exposed it and showed that she isn't afraid to separate herself from the gang down there. Zine also knew about the program, so why should he get points for acting outraged?
Villaraigosa looked like a typical petty politician by taking a shot at Greuel for exposing the perk. That's what happens when you tell the world about these secrets. The others who want to keep the secret secret turn on you.

It's because WENDY LIED about KNOWING about the Gold Card Program.
It's bad enough that her office benefitted from it.
It's a whole other bill of goods that she DENIED knowing about it in her recent "expose." Well, honey, if your office benefitted from the program, then you KNEW about it and, therefore, LIED about it in you recent report.

8:10am Krekorian will not run for mayor. He's going to run for City Attorney in 2013, regardless of whether Trutanich becomes DA. Krekorian has a lot of support in the City Attorney's Office where he is seen as one of the few honest people in City Hall, and would do a great deal to restore the reputation the Office has after Rocky and Carmen.

I don't think Wendy found religion. She's simply trying to avoid being burned at the stake for not admitting knowledge of the program years ago.
This issue will follow her on the campaign trail in any event.
Krekorian's talents would be wasted as City Attorney. That would make him the attorney for the City Council and Mayor and all the stupid things they may do.
He can't legislate or direct the operations of departments.

But Krekorian may be thinking that the City Atty position is the best place to be for citywide exposure in order to launch a campaign for mayor in 8 years.
Corruption, corruption is DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY and Los Angeles is ahead. When does it stop? DO NOT elect or RE-ELECT POLITICIANS THAT HAVE BEEN COUGHT IN LIES AND CORRUPTION. The mayor and the city council has created a special fund to cover their corruption cost, is that a wrong message? And why do we have the City Attorney for? he does not represent the people.
The only person I would vote for Mayor is Krekorian. We need new blood, no more corrupt politicians. The same in state representation, and if we do not have enough people to run, lets outreach from other states, not other countries, and please not Palin. De malo a pior.
Gruel has not done the job she was elected for. She is still covering up her friends, what happen to the investigation and audit of the CLARTS FUND? it was swept under the table. Millions of dollars not accounted for.
6:09, I remember when I was as idealistic as you. Then I did some checking on what these folks were doing behind the scenes. Your Boy PK is not only not new but is still using his Assembly Seat to line his pockets. This will prevent him from going anywhere other than City Council. With that group, his antics are just same old same old and is barely noticed. Anything further would call into question his assembly committee's fundraising scheme.

I think Kerkorian is the least corrupt of the Clowns.
All politicians are corrupt. If you accept $1 from any special interest group (unions, business groups, environmentalists, gun advocates, etc.) you will swayed one way or another.
Given the system we have, we have to find the least corrupt. More importantly, we have to find the least MORALLY corrupt. Meaning the one's who aren't just out for the highest bidder and do only their bidding...a clear example would be Zine (and beginning July 1st- Englander).

The City Attorney's main job is to be City Hall's lawyer. He defends their actions, save for exceptional situations where they have gone against his advice and he feels they are horribly wrong, and he provides them with legal advice.
