Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Wednesday
Don't make me get up. |
AEG is threatening that if the City Council doesn't get behind the Farmer's Field Stadium by early summer the entire city will be leveled by an Alien Death Ray.
If it's Wednesday in Los Angeles, it's time for an update from the great state of Wisconsin! Today, we now find that 4 Republican Senators have had recall petitions filed against them. Activists have gathered 140% of needed signatures in each recall drive so any challenges face little chance of survival. If the recalls are even partially successful the balance of power could shift in the Wisconsin Senate.
Gov Jerry Brown has finally found a rational California GOP lawmaker that will join him on his statewide budget tour. Assemblyman Cameron Smyth has agreed to attend a forum on Thursday in his home town of Santa Clarita. Gov. Brown has received multiple rejections to his invitations from Republican lawmakers who appear to be deathly afraid of KFI blowhards John & Ken.
Today marks the one year anniversary of the BP oil disaster. And it's still a big mess.

Morning, Joe-
I'm shocked.....SHOCKED.....that you didn't reference Obama's confrontation with the reporter from Texas.
In the past, when a prominent Republican had a run-in with a member of the media, you'd race to your computer to post it as "BREAKING NEWS."
It surprises "NOONE" that you didn't mention it when it happened to Obama.

Joe,
Obama has a 42% approval rating, and somewhere lower than that when survey recipients asked about his performance on the economy.
What say you about his chances to get re-elected? We've only got 18 months before the next election, and the unemployment rate is STILL over 9% nationwide, and 12+% in California.
The Latinos are mad. Even a sliver of the blacks are giving up confidence in him.
What do you think he should do? With S&P forecasting a reduced credit rating, what direction should he go in?
I'm not sure Axelrod and Plouffe can get him out of this. You?

NOTE TO CITY COUNCIL
1. WE DO NOT NEED A FOOTBALL STADIUM OR TEAM.
2. AEG IS A LYING, THIEVING AND DISHONEST COMPANY. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE CITY'S BEST INTERESTS IN MIND.
3. THE JOBS BUILDING A STADIUM WILL BRING CAN BE HAD IF THE STADIUM IS IN IRWINDALE, CARSON, OR ANY OTHER CITY.
4. ARE YOU AWARE OF WHAT THE ALREADY BAD TRAFFIC WILL BE LIKE IF YOU STUFF A HUGE STADIUM INTO THAT TIGHTLY CROWDED AREA DOWNTOWN?
5. GETTING YOUR NAME ON A PLAQUE AT THE STADIUM ISN'T WORTH IT. DON'T SELL US OUT.
6. PHIL JENNERJAHN IS A SELF-SERVING, LOATHESOME MORON.
G'DAY.

Farmer's Field will get built. AEG owns the city council. Greig Smith was never a fully owned slave, but Englander is fully owned.
Jerry Brown knows how to negotiate with unions. Yeah, remember that everyone? He knows how to give them what they want and then MORE.
CA Taxpayers get not so much love from the retread.
Joe I agree with you that the CAGOP is a dead organization, but they are the only entity keep CA from going down the crapper further.
John & Ken may be blow hards but they sometimes make very good points.
We need to cut the budget not raise taxes. We need to cut state employment by 20-30%. We need a govt that focuses 1st on necessities and eliminates debt. When debt is wiped out there will be extra cash to pay for all of the goodies socialist in the state, like you, want.
