The LA Times gets it wrong again, this time under wunder-kind reporter Maeve Reston, counting up real and imagined Mayoral candidates while forgetting to mention actual candidate Kevin James, despite having raised $500K in campaign pledges and hosting a top rated radio program six times a week. Maeve can't claim she didn't know, she covered his announcement.
It's really sad to see the Times reporters continue to just phone it in.

Higby, IMHO knowing Reston and Zahniser (who co-wrote the piece) it was not a slip of their memories, but more likely an editor's decision to exclude any mention of Kevin James.
The LA Times is doing all it can possibly do to show that it is biased and entirely deliberate in their decision to try to marginalize Kevin James. Agreed?
David is right. This isn't an oversight. This is an agenda.
Let me get this straight...3 right wing teabaggers are upset that their right wing radio talk show host candidate is not being taken seriously by the LA Times.

Very funny indeed. Speaking of right wing whackjobs, have you seen that Carmen 'the Clown' is officially running for DA? He got Sheriff Baca to issue a plea to 'Draft Trutanich for DA, complete with a website. All a crass attempt to get Trutanich off the hook from his campaign promise not to run for DA.
Shortsighted to ignore James as he has a good chance of making the runoff in what will be a large field.
Even if he doesn't, he can seriously hurt certain candidates in their bids for the Valley's vote.

in the bank then we'll talk, right now it's all BS and a circle jerk.

There's a huge difference between a candidate saying he has X amount of dollars in pledges and a candidate who has money in the bank. Why don't those pledgers just cough up the money?
So if the Times earns your scorn for having an agenda that includes NOT reporting James as a viable candidate, will you accept scorn for pushing forth YOUR agenda of propping up fringe candidates (Guillermo Huesca anyone?)
BEUTNER WILL BUY THIS OFFICE AND DO NOTHING WITH IT. IT'S THE 80% WHO DIDN'T VOTE THAT CAN CHANGE THE OUTCOME. THE PRESS AND THE MEDIA IS ALREADY TO FRONT FOR THEIR GUYS THE PROPAGANDA MILL HAS STARTED TO SELL THOUGH'S OF YOU WHO WILL FALL FOR IT. THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE GREAT THREAT TO REAL DEMOCRACY AS BIG MONEY COMMUNICATION FRONT FOR WHO WILL GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT. LOOK AT THE LA TIMES AND THE CHANDLERS. THIS IS NOT NEW STUFF BUT THE SAME OLD GARBAGE FORCED DOWN OUR THROATS. WE NEED TO REACH THAT 80% WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND CREATIBILITY THAT THE MEDIA HAS BUILT FOR YEARS AT EVERYONE'S EXPENSE. I KNOW THAT BUILDING ORGANIZATIONS CAN CHANGE OUTCOMES IT'S STILL A NUMBERS GAME. IF THE PUBLIC BOYCOTTS OR DOESN'T PLAY BY THE RULES IT'S HARD FOR THESE SMALL BUT POWERFUL GROUPS TO HAVE THAT CONTROL. YOU KIDS FUTURE IS ON THE LINE.
PS THE ONLY REAL HOPE IS FRINGE CANDIDATES. THESE COLLEGE EDUCATED SELF-PROMOTING,POLISHED CANDIDATES ARE THE REASON YOUR PAYING AND WILL PAY EVEN MORE UNTIL YOU HAVE NOTHING LEFT. YOU KIDS EDUCATION IS THRETENED, YOU STREETS AREN'T FIXED, YOUR FEES AND FINES INCREASED OR CREATED, IT'S BIG BROTHER TIMES. EVEN FINANCIAL EXPERTS ADMIT THAT THE BANKS, GOLDMAN-SACKS,CHASE,COUNTRYWIDE LEADERS SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH FRAUD, YET NOTHING HAPPENS. I KNOW WE ALL OUR IMAGINING THIS,RIGHT?
