Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Monday
LA's politicians are finding that getting free tickets to premier events around town can wind up being expensive. After Mayor Villaraigosa was slapped with $42,000 in ethics violations fines, Council Members, Eric Garcetti, Jose Huizar, Herb Wesson and Tony Cardenas all got slapped by the Ethics Commission for scamming tickets to the Oscars, Grammys, etc. In an interesting twist, those who gave the tickets were fined as well.
The City Reapportionment Commission will be getting to work soon on redrawing Council district maps in Los Angeles. Every interest group from ethnic politics organizations to those who shill for business plan to get in on the act. The NAACP and MALDEF will surely wish to see that Districts are drawn to ensure the election of as many minorities to the Council as possible; trade group VICA wants to see that no more than one Council district overlaps the San Fernando Valley and the rest of the City.
Yesterday we noted how our odd weather in Los Angeles this winter has led to a bumper crop of backyard citrus. This points up the growth in growing fresh fruits and vegetables for personal consumption at home. This morning at 7:00 a.m., the What's Cooking Today show on CRN Digital Talk features Paul James of HGTV talking about the home farming movement. James is also behind an effort with the makers of the Triscuit cracker that has created a social networking website for those who wish to grow food at home.
After a fan was savagely beaten opening day in the parking lot at Dodger Stadium, the team is re-considering the idea of selling half-price beer.

Huizar will be having bigger problems than his ethics fines soon enough.
Just wait until he gets frog marched by the FBI out of his front door.

More than 1 City Council member and lots of City "officials" are "worried" - to say the least - about the reach of this FBI investigation.

Keep hope alive little one.
"JIMMY HAHN'S GONNA BE INDICTED, TOO"
"Mayor Sam's - circa 2005"
(The old reliable gossipy bullshit is the best) No one ever calls the bloging 'tards on it, when it DON'T happen.

It's about time the readers at Mayor Sam's realize most of the anonymous made-up bile aimed at Huizar here comes from ex-employees of his that couldn't do their jobs for shit, and got canned fairly quickly (like you).

The only difference is that Huizar's consultant Parke Skelton was behind that "Hahn indictment" lie, as well as many others. This time he has to defend his client from the same accusations. Karma is a m---f----

Huizar gets the smallest of the 4 fines for City Councilmembers for accepting one set of Oscar tickets.
That "karma" is going to have to be viewed through a "m---f----" microscope, it's so small and inconsequential.
Won't be TOO hard to defend, nahhh. No one would even bother bringing up something SO tiny in any future race. Would be worth the slick paper it was mailed out on.
Not to mention that anyone who's ever read the regs on contributions and gifts knows they're about the most muddled and incomprehensible set of guidelines since the "user manual" for the first Japanese transistor radios were sent over in the 1950s.
It's a wonder ANYONE can stay within the bounds.

Hey Mayor Sam, your "smart" friend, Phil Jennerjahn, is once again throwing Stephen Box under the bus, declaring that the bicyclia or whatever you call it even interfered with Phil's right to earn a living.
Odd, since Phil can't afford a car. If he could he could DRIVE himself to work.
And what kind of work would Phil be doing on a Sunday anyways?

Has anyone seen the infamous Red Spot?

THE HAVE AND HAVE NOT'S ,JUST LIKE I SAID!! THE ONLY WAY TO CHANGE THIS IS TO VOTE THEM OUT,PERIOD. THAT MEANS THE 80% WHO DID NOT VOTE NEED TO SEE THE REASON WHY THEY SHOULD VOTE AND DIDN'T AND THEY NEED TO KNOW WHAT AND WHO TO BELIEVE.

Ethics commitee is a joke. They only look at money matters and not ethical behaviour.
