Friday Free for All

The Los Feliz Ledger is asking whether Council President Eric Garcetti plans to run for Mayor or not.  The Ledger proclaims were Garcetti to run, he would be an instant front-runner.  But hold the phone - the LA Weekly reports experts have already handed the Mayoralty to Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky.

Where is the Mayor? In Chicago, at a design summit!

A bill to disincorporate the corrupt city of Vernon has passed the State Assembly.  If it clears the Senate and is signed by Governor Jerry Brown, Vernon comes under control of LA County.  However waiting in the wings to get a hold of the territory is Jose Huizar who would love to annex the industrial tax base rich territory to Los Angeles for all kinds of fun stuff.  Problem is, with LA's anti-business regime in charge, commerce leaves and we're stuck with Vernon's debt and no revenues to pay it off.

Eric Garcetti front runner? Are you kidding me? Eric may think he's a smooth operator, but community activists all over LA have watched his preposterous grandstanding and misuse of the Brown Act to suppress public participation in Council decision making. Eric is a deceptive little control freak. That is a bad habit for mayor to have.

I would love for Councilwoman Garcetti to make history as LA's first female Mayor! Run, Eric, run!

Eric, while a likable guy, has not delivered even remotely on the issue that matters the most to me.

In fact, I've not seen him even offer a comment about the subject. What matters to me, doesn't matter to him. Yet I've heard him stand up and offer (as his colleagues do), the same empty platitudes on that worthless parade City Council goes through every Friday while Rome is burning.

While I'd have Eric & Amy to a dinner party, he hasn't earned my trust where it matters the most to me.

Sadly, it is this type of disconnectedness that seems to win in LA.

Here is the latest Phil Jennerjahn disingenuousness.

He posted, as if we care, his comments in front of the Redistricting Cmte.

"Good Evening Commissioners. My name is Phil Jennerjahn, and in the interest of fairness I should disclose that I actually ran for U.S. Congress in the 33rd Congressional District. I lost in the primary in June 2010."

NO PHIL! THAT'S A LIE. YOU DID NOT LOSE IN THE PRIMARY. YOU QUIT ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE SIGNATURE GATHERING AFTER YOU WEREN'T ABLE TO GET A SINGLE SIGNATURE AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF WALKING A DISTRICT.

IF YOU QUALIFIED FOR THE RACE, YOU'D HAVE "LOST IN THE PRIMARY." YOU DIDN'T LOSE IN THE PRIMARY. YOU QUIT ON DAY ONE OF THE SIGNATURE GATHERING, MUCH LIKE YOU QUIT ON DAY ONE OF RECALL CITY HALL, WHEN "NOONE" SHOWED UP FOR YOUR NON-PRESS CONFERENCE.

YOU ARE A TRUTH-HATING POSEUR TO SUGGEST OTHERWISE.

Can we get new Silver Lake resident Eric Garcetti to run against Mommy's house guest Mike Gatto for Assembly?

Scott, why do you think you have any credibility when it comes to Mike Gatto?

You L-I-E-D when you reported on his presumed background.

Remember the articles in the Times and Daily News? Higby had to APOLOGIZE and retract & delete all that you wrote.

You have no credibility on anything until you've earned it, and right now, your credibility is running a deficit as big as Obama's.

Typical Mayor Sam's "DAYS-late/MILLION$-short" reporting.

All Huizar did, as the only committee member present when the Vernon issue came up, was the appropriate move of pushing it through for dicussion and possible action by the full City Council(what ANY committee-of-one SHOULD do, ethically).

But hey, since this blog seems to WANT to invent CD14 news to blather about, how about some REAL news (for a change).

SO.... how come Reed Spit, the demi-god of campaign contribution conspiracy theory hasn't noticed this?

Trutanich has filed a $180 million fraud suit against a CD14-based affordable housing developer, Advanced Development that contracted huge projects throughout the City and in places like Glendale, too.

NOW (LAT reports) because of some dirt that came out during a nasty divorce case, it appears they and their subcontractors OVER-billed the City close to $200 MILLION over several years.

And, while they gave minimal contributions to several local politicians City, state, fed . . . WHO did the firm and it's founding family members give the MOST money to - several times over, pretty much every time he RAN for local office?

Was it Huizar? (NO!)

Was it Villar? (NO!)

Was it Reyes? (NO!)

YUP, you guessed it, it WAS Reed Spit's "hero" -- "Tricky Nicky" Pacheco got MANY thousands in contributions from 1999-2005 from the SAME firm and family now accused of MASSIVE fraud against this City and others when they were trying to build low cost housing.

Huh, how cum is DAT not neeeeewwwwws?

How come NO ONE at Mayor Sammies says a PEEP?

OLD (incorrect) news about a Vernon takeover -- SURE, because it's another excuse to bang on Huizar, but CURRENT (REAL) news about the corruption of a former CD14 elected who's a bud of one of the bloggers here... NAAAAAAH!

Oopsie!

I guess my questions for Scott "Red Spot" Johnson, asking why he feels he has credibility, having slandered Mike Gatto to the point of a lawsuit threat and articles in the LA Times and LA Daily News, as well as a retraction, apology and deletion from Mayor Sam.

I guess Scott can't handle the heat the way he loves to dish it out.

Right Scottie? You can't handle what you dish.

Higby,

What's the deal with allowing Red Spot to comment about Gatto, especially on an open thread day, but not allowing others to respond to it? Red Spot's credibility is a serious issue, since you had to apologize for his posts.

That's a heck of a statement about YOUR credibility, Higby.

We've heard this before, and still, no indictments - but guess what, the LA Times just came out with the story on the indictments regarding a Villar donor.

More smoke and mirrors from that Skelton house of campaigns - why are you guys still afraid of Nick?

The investigation is JUST getting started. . . TICK, tick, tick!

Grab your socks Nick, and prepare to bend over. Many of those MASSIVE overbilled, fraudulent "affordable housing" projects started on YOUR watch, and the people at ADI know you VERY well!

Naaaaah, nobody's "afraid" of Pacheco. He hasn't backed a winner in YEARS, including HIMSELF... this is just the pleasure of waiting for the OTHER show to drop. He's OUT of public office 4-4-4-4-EVER, but he can STILL get tagged (and WILL) for the crap he pulled while in there.

Red Spot,

Whether or not those comments are from Gatto truthers, the points they make ARE the truth.

You DID lie.
You DID have to apologize
You DID almost get Higby sued
You DID have to delete every reference to Gatto.
Your credibility DID go down the toilet.

I guess this makes me a truther, too. Yeah, it figures that YOU wouldn't appreciate the word truth and assume it's a bad thing. Try LIVING the truth for a while.

That clocks been ticking since 1999 - and nothing yet. Anything to detract attention from Villar's problems and the real investigation - the FBI investigation on Huizar. I don't think Nick is running out to hire any lawyers, Huizar and Villar already have hire their lawyers - why?
