Unions representing 6,300 city employees smack down Mayor Villar's Labor Deal

One-third of city workers grade Mayor Villar's latest labor deal.
One-third of City of Los Angeles employees voted to reject Mayor Antonoi Villar's "landmark labor deal" that was suppose to ease the budgetary pain in the 2011/2012 Fiscal Budget at 200 Spring Street. Thus proving that Mayor Villar's Administration answer to the State of Wisconsin Budgetary Plan, was empty rhetoric.
As cut and pasted from the Old Gray Hag on Spring Street report, "Villaraigosa and coalition leaders had repeatedly billed the pact as a way to end furloughs. That argument was undermined somewhat by the fact that the vast majority of workers -– including sanitation workers, librarians, landscapers, street light maintenance crews, zookeepers and every employee at the harbor and airports –- have already been spared from taking unpaid days off". So much for the landmark status of this great compromise.
The great leaders of Wisconsin might find further amusement in this cut and paste tidbit from the same story. The deal did not cover sworn employees, such as police officers and firefighters, or workers at the Department of Water and Power, all of whom are also exempt from furloughs. After all, Puiblic Safety (LAPD) and Brian D'Arcy's IBEW employees are special.
Thus, the former labor organizer from City Terrace, is quickly becoming an afterthought among city employees.
Your thoughts...............

This was easy to predict. Current city employees only care about themselves. The City will have no choice but to fire more employees, the least tenured ones, and serviceds will be reduced. But the vast majority of employees will keep their jobs and their pay and benefits.

This mayor raises taxes, increases fees, burdens the city with the "Mayor's mansion" that Hahn and Riordan did without - and he still has to cut employees and emergency services? Is this the worst mayor ever or what? At least George Bush had a higher than a 1.8 GPA - speaks volumes on this guys intelligence, or lack thereof.

My favorite magazine cover - ever!

Almost worth having to "machete" through the underbrush of Reed Spit's horrible illiteracy.

This was very easy to predict, but not because of an City employee selfishness. For those that bothered to read the actual text of the proposal, this was a blatant attempt at a major hornswoggle. He simply wanted a lot more than budget savings. It's like having an abusive alcoholic spouse with a gambling problem. You have to draw the line at some point.
Enough was enough.

More than any other candidate in the SoCal political scene, Mike Gatto has championed the interests of the often dismissed Armenian community. In authoring historic legislation, delivering speeches, and various community outreach efforts, Mike Gatto has proven himself to be a proud representative of this unique community’s values and history.

Villaraigosa wishes he was Mike Gatto. The Mayor would love to be as devastatingly handsome and as popular with the ladies as Mike Gatto is. Too bad he's a midget.

I would like it some news station investigated the Mayor's Mansion and found out exactly how much money is being spent for new plants. I heard from a landscaper who works there that his highness (aint that a laugh) likes high water usage plants, and since he got caught overwatering his plants he has the landscapers plant new plants whenever they die from lack of water, instead of planting a drought resistant garden like he told everyone else to do.
