Street Hassle, Ron Kaye: CD4 Race Tightening; Desperate LaBonge Goes Uber-Dirty

After a lot of hustling by challengers Tomas O'Grady and Stephen Box this past weekend, the late smear tactics of Councilman Tom LaBonge indicate that the race in CD 4 has considerably tightened.

I wouldn't put much credence into reports coming from the stay at home wobbler on the terrace.
Suddenly the "Terrace" dude can be linked here?
Did Higby wake up with a hangover, or just have nothing "new" to work with?
How would ANYONE, including the clueless Tom Labonge know whether the race has "tightened" or not.
Yur just making stuff up now/always.
LACityWorkers.com endorsed Box, over incumbent LaBonge saying Tom LaB has learned "nothing" while in office.
They also endorse Huizar over Martinez a week or so ago.

Even when campaigns know they'll win in a cakewalk (like Huizar's), they still act as if it's gonna be tight, to keep the volunteers out there working.
The best either challenger to LaBonge can hope for is to force him into a runoff, and then it's just a money game... La Bonge wins 8-9 weeks later
If you think turnout in the March votes is "light" then the May votes in a non-Mayoral election year are FEATHER-like, and the incumbent has an even greater advantage.
The conterarians and "sweepers" need something to keep their spirits up. Most likely it will be LaBonge on the ropes after the primary, to spur them along.
But then, Parks can just as easily go down and the the "status quo" is effectively unchanged for the next 4 years.
Combined millions spent on campaigns, and nothing will really change.
Regardless of where the smear came from either ethically challenged Alison Cohen of the Los Feliz Liar spokeshole for LaBonge or from some link to LaBonge we all loose. Tom never forgets and never learns. It will be back to his royal fiefdom way of doing business, his way or the highway. Screw the people. He is the prime example of the Peter Principle.
3:01, your derisive comment about the "Sweepers" makes me wonder if you even live in LA or are aware of what is going on in City Hall. Most likely you make a living off City Hall and are concerned that your livelihood would be threatened. Just who do you think the sweepers are; some foreign agent? I also work in CH, and am tired of the corruption and mismangement I see around me. I did not join Civil Service to sit on my butt, collecting a huge bi-weekly paycheck, while the managers and politicians cut back services and run around crying that there is not enough staff. Enough of this BS game the city plays. I'd like to see some honest, smart and efficient people take over who don't kill the golden goose. In your lexicon, I'd guess, I'd be a sweeper.
