Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Tuesday

Former scumbag Republican leader Mike Villines, in a move that besmirches the good name of known tax-cutter and 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, was among four California legislators who were "honored" by the Kennedy Center's "Profiles in Courage" awards for attempting to raise taxes in California. Also on the list were Phil Jennerjahn's favorite budget destroying Socialist, Karen Bass, as well as Democrat Darrel Steinberg and Republican David Codgill. The award was handed out by the Cousin-in-Law of the Kennedy Republican, one of the brood that didn't get the brains of her grandfather, father, mother, aunts and uncles, Caroline Kennedy, who even most Democrats had to admit was too damn stupid to become a United States Senator replacing Mrs. Bill Clinton.

It's bad enough we have to educate Democrats on the basic tenets of conservative thought but it's just a mess when dumbass jackball Repuglicans overreach as bad as Obama when they think they have a mandate. A swift-footed (not) State Senator from Arizona - Russell Pearce - author of SB1070 was even pissing off Bill O'Reilly with his mush-mouthed explanation of his ridiculous plan to now figure out how Arizona can deport anchor babies. Let's start with the drug dealers, gun runners and gang members and not go after the kids wet-tard.

When she recently slammed her former City Council colleagues over their slush-fund officeholder accounts we wondered what those same Council members thought as Wendy once had her own Clowncil Slush Fund. Well it gets better. Ron Kaye is reporting - with lots of details you need to know - that Wendy is joining up with former Mayor Downtown Dick to raise dough for HER CITY CONTROLLER OFFICEHOLDER ACCOUNT! What's up with that?

Someone wants to recall Councilmember Dennis P. Zine, our favorite former motorcycle cop. I don't know anything about this but if they want to be successful they best emulate this recall effort and not this one.

A post on the LA Weekly's LA Daily Blog opines that while he's the front runner for Mayor perhaps, City Clowncil President Eric Garcetti is not the heir apparent to replace Mayor Villaraigosa. Nope it appears that Ron Kaye's favorite DWP head Austin Beutner is the Mayor's choice to keep the seat warm.

In a Zuma Dogg-esque move longtime local blogging empire Metblogs is going to pull the plug if someone doesn't give them some "PayPal love" soon. According to Franklin Avenue Metblogs has "no funding source in the offing." Funding source? Since when the hell did a blog have a funding source? I must be doing something wrong.

And finally Ginny Here and There, which is normally an over the hill centered blog, has a snippet on this week's coming Studio City Neighborhood Council elections which many hope will provide the vindication for controversial yet popular activist Michael McCue. McCue was recently unceremoniously booted from the panel by dangerous enemy of freedom Lisa Sarkin but most assume that the voters will return McCue to his rightful position.

The next mayoral election will be a free for all rumble in the sewer event.
Greuel will run. Garcetti will run. Beutner probably will NOT run, Trutanich will run. Zine will run (because he has no other job to pursue).
There are no real good candidates for this job. Maybe Caruso. But how is he going to walk away from a billion dollar empire?
My choice would be Tim Leiwieke of AEG. Why? He already owns all of the politicians in Clowncil. The unions are friendly with him. He's rich and has rich friend so won't be pushed over by the unions. AND, he has almost single handily revitalized downtown in 10 years.
$500K apartments in down town? Yes.

He may have been buying off favors. But think about it, you can't hire a sheep to protect the herd from the fox. Might as well hire the top fox and make him a mercenary.

Nice to see you Trojan2002; you're always welcome here, come back often!

I say we just close down shop and have Antonio be the last Mayor. :)

Karen Bass is a Dangerous Enemy of Taxpayers. She helped bankrupt California and does not deserve the job of Representative in Congress. Voters should reject her spending, arrogance, excess, entitlement and corruption.

Oh Phil. It's not in the cards for you. If you really wanted Karen Bass to lose you'd drop out and walk precincts from now until November for James Andion.

Phil is the only dangerous enemy of freedom, and here is why. Phil won't respond because he bunkers down every time he opens his mouth and is exposed as a phony and liar.

1. I hate Villaraigosa, but he was elected LEGALLY AND FAIRLY. Anyone who wants to undo a legal and fair election is an enemy of freedom.

2. Phil is an enemy of freedom because he promised to run the recall and to provide the program's plan. He hasn't done this either, and this hampered anyone else's attempt or desire to run a recall.

3. Phil is not in this to improve the city; he is in it for himself, and is acting as such.

4. Phil is a drop out and society loses when an idiot enrolls in school and drops out.

5. It's not a threat to freedom, but Phil's girly high pitched voice is extremely annoying.

Higby, can you repost that hilarious write up someone did over the weekend about Phil and his idiot brigade? Make it a string of its own and watch the comments and clicketies go through the roof.

Since Higby wanted to mention me on his blog today, I'm going to mention him on mine. Seems to be a new blog about him. And my web site is encountering a record number of new viewers. http://truthabouthigby.blogspot.com

Laura Chick is the only one of any integrity that should run. Sometimes common sense is the least common of the senses. If some of the aforementioned run it means more lefist politics at stupid hall at the expense of all. If you think da mayor gave away the fort let some of them get in charge and hold on tight.

Zine has said he's running for Controller. But Wendy has another term available and may stay on.
Zine is unfit to become dogcatcher.

Trutanich running for Mayor is too funny. He makes La Bonge look smoothly spoken and Leiweke and Jan Perry's supporters (black Jews, all 5 of them but seriously, the black community) will get out he truth about him this time. And so will the Latinos- he and Zine ran on a campaign to replace SO40 with an Arizona-type law.

He wants to be the DA when Steve Cooley moves on, that was always their plan. Shallman and John Thomas have to be panicked now that their man Sunder's going down as a rightwing gay and nationality baiter, and with Shallman's gal Essel sunk against even an old-school establishment pol.

Just the thought of Nooch the "fixer" from Long Beach throwing his weight around randomly even more, getting an even bigger bully pulpit for his anger management issues, and his BFF's Cooley as AG and Zine as Controller, it's nightmare-ville to all but Higby, Ron Kaye, Jill Stewart and the teaparty right.

It would actually be a fun race to watch though, with the blacks, Latinos, pro-pot people who went all out for him last time, making him see that "high five" article he always whines about look like high praise. He can go back to his canal on Long Beach's Belmont Shore he's been renting out and make all the money he mentioned as his due as reason not to take any pay cut. Or maybe he can run for something in Arizona.
