Sunday Open Thread and Mayoral Recall Update

Nothing says "serious" better than sunglasses on a cloudy day.

Dateline Sunday, May 23rd, 2010... Latest info from the less than transparent "Recall City Hall" campaign disaster led by Phil Jennerjahn, Walter Moore, David Hernandez, and Dege Coutee:

-The "Recall City Hall" Twitter page has seen exponential growth in it's outreach efforts and, as of today, can now proudly announce that they have 58 followers! They built this following in slightly over 30 days, people!
Give It Up for Team Recall! Whoo-Hoo!!

-The "Recall City Hall" Facebook page has gone worldwide viral and now boasts (I hope you're sitting down) 172 (that's one hundred & seventy two) friends! Holy cow!
If that isn't viral, I don't know what is!

-Recall City Hall campaign organizers have decided that revealing a count of total signatures collected to date would interfere with their overall opportunistic efforts to get their pictures taken and a possible mention in the news.

Heads-up fishwraps and people with video cameras;

There will be no signature tally announced unless there is a photo-op!

As always, the Mayor Sam News Team will continue to bring you the latest developments in this dramatically non developing story!

OUTSTANDINGLY witty, Joe B. Especially coming from you. Good job.

Let me share what I have come to call The Phil Math.

"Okay team. We have 172 Facebook friends, or whatever you call them. If each one of them, gets 1000 signatures from all over the world, we'll have the more than enough to recall City Hall."

Dege "Wait, don't they have to be valid signatures from in the city?"

Phil: "No, this isn't about getting valid signatures. It's about me helping my campaign."

Walter: "What? I'm outta here. I already got MY exposure on Day One."

David: "Hey Phil, you IDIOT! Why did the guy who is trying to recall Janice Hahn get a whole segment on KFI the other day, and you've not gotten us ANY media attention."

Phil: "Sure I have. Didn't you see my video in front of the Capitol in D.C."

Dege: "That wasn't about the recall! That was about YOU!"

Phil: "Go shave your cooch, Dege. And stop soaking yourself in Patchoulie! Ugh, I gotta get outta this joint!"

Sheftel: "Did someone say joint?"

Zuma Dogg: "Deming says you guys are dysfunctional! Point #9 says that..."

Eric Garcetti: "Mr. Dogg, you're outta order!"

Ed Reyes: "Let's break his gringo ass outta here for 30 days!"

Zuma Dogg: "Oh yeah? I'll see you on LA Daily Blog!"

Phil: "Don't forget to vote for me. Yes, I know I just like to repeat tired, vapid political expressions, and it's true that I have no ideas, no plans, and no experience. Okay, I admit, I am divisive and conniving, but vote for me anyways. Karen Bass is a commie. I blame all of this on Mary Cummins. No, I blame it on Higby. Damn it, Richard Alarcon, you must resign now."

Crickets.

Only a tool like Phil would think people don't notice that you're a dope for wearing sunglasses on a cloudy, overcast day.

Thanks, Higby. If you only knew who I am! You may, if you so wish, re-purpose it for Monday morning's Hot Sheet. I would get a kick out of that, and I think others would too.

YO, HO, HO
GO TELL YOUR MAMA
IT'S OVER FOR
THAT DUDE NAMED O'BAMA.

PHIL, YOU ARE A FOOL. I THINK YOU'RE AN IDIOT AND I WOULD NOT ONLY VOTE FOR KAREN BASS OVER YOU, IDIOT, I WOULD DONATE TO HER TO ENSURE YOUR CONTINUED FAILURE IN YOUR STUPID CAPAIGN YOU DISINGENUOUS PUSSY!

PREDICTION ABOUT PHIL JENNERJAHN

Phil is going to crow, again, as he always does, about the Republican victory in Hawaii, without realizing that the Dems received more than 60% of the vote.

Watch, you'll see him do this.

I'm a Republican, too, but I'd vote for the team of Villar & Bass before Jennerjahn & Patchoulie Cooch

Subject: 600 per night

Message: Zuma dogg, it is not un-customary for a vip like the mayor of a major city, even though I hate him, to stay in a hotel costing %600 per night. I'll have you know that as far as luxury accomodations go, that's about mid-price range.

For someone who gets FREE housing, you are noone to complain

Wanna mention something about your affected speaking voice. It is funny when you come to city hall, but it is annoying and you sound like a poseur, which many think you are, when you do it on your blog.

P.S. if you wanna get money in your pocket, go to target, ralphs and quiznos websites. They are all hiring. I think you only wan to work doing what YOU wanna do rather then what the market provides. And speaking about the market, how come you are opposed to rent freezes but you are okay with YOUR getting free housing? It's cuz your a hipporcite.

I think this blog needs to keep focusing on the Phil charade, and here is why.

We all know that Phil will not get more than 10 votes in the election. Seriously he will not get much more than that, if he gets more than that at all.

He will blame it on the usual suspects (Higby, Cummins, Dogg, Walter, Villar), and then say, "you said that I wouldn't get more than 10 votes, and see? I got 100 votes! so I am semi known, and I'm going to run for mayor now."

John Phillips on KABC rightly outed Phil as someone who is purely and solely desperate for attn.

My comment last night was out of the insanity of Phil's mind and the loopy characters surrounding him. But it's important for us to enjoy this BUFFOON while he continues his charade.

10:07 here. Thanks for the kudos. Watch for Phil to try and get the Recall Janice Hahn guy on board and then try to get credit for THAT guy's work.

Phil reminds me of Beaver Cleaver. He endlessly digs holes for himself that he will end up looking like an idiot in, once cornered. But all along the way of the latest episode, he is blissfully unaware that he makes himself look like an idiot to everyone except himself.

Case in point, that stupid photo of him wearing the sunglasses on the overcast day. How funny is that photo? It reminds me of the photo of Villaraigosa next to Zuma Dogg and he's pointing into the camera. They all look like idiots. And it's funny.

I am especially amused by Phil's video of himself in front of the Capitol building in D.C. He is clearly FREEZING, and between his frozen red cheeks and pursed lips, you can't even hear him because the microphone is catching all of the wind.

Phil isn't dangerous, but he is funny, and it's loads of fun to point out what a dope he is.

Glad you enjoyed my musings on him.

I must say I am saddened by all of the "witty" comments. The City is in severe distressed due soley to the Mayor's corupt politics and policies and outrageous spending. Why don't you support the effort to recall this Mayor who has been sending the City down the toilet since his first election instead of targeting the one person who had the guts to get the Recall going. This is not about Phil, it's about the City. Either you are supporters of Villaraigosa or you are supporters of the Recall effort...period. In this case there is no gray area.
