Shallman was for Krekorian Before he was Against Him
Chris Essel's campaign consultant may have been a consultant scorned. Before any of the CD2 nuttiness started Shallman sent a message to Paul Krekorian - before Krekorian even announced (though we had scooped the competition and broke the story well before this) - seeking employment with Team Paul. In the message Shallman said.
Subject: CD2
I understand you are interested in running. We should talk. I'm in the middle of running Trutanich for City Attorney right now but I'm getting calls from various candidates. I've always liked and admired you and wanted to see what you decided. If you're in and have a consultant already, don't sweat it.

Oh well. John was better off, Chris Essel had the connections to pay him more. And Paul was already set with one of LA's best and most ethical consultants, Eric Hacopian.

So Michael how much is Krekorian paying you to keep Mayorsam Krekorian Central for the next 48 hours. It's really showing your bias and creating a view of you as nothing more then a Front for Paul. He can't afford to run a decent campaign so he has resulted to paying you to hi-Jack this blog. There are other blogs dedicated to all CD2 info. Can we move on now?
You're really full of shit because all the other local blogs are all over CD2 as well. And you know whenever there is an election that's the biggest story on MS spinner.
Besides, this is newer news and quite timely. Tells me me more about the character and ethics of Essel (which is not good, not good at all).

The word in City Hall is about a yelling match last night between Wendy and Shallman.
Shallman was yelling at Wendy for not raising enough money to help Essel's campaign.
Wendy's staff have been telling every one about it all morning.
Shallman is losing it.

Shallman is apparently calling the City Council members who have endorsed Essel with the same frantic demands to help with last minute money.

Shallman is an OK consultant but he does lose races:
Arabo, AD 78. Shallman's candidate spent $480,000 and got 15% of the vote. Block spent $306 and got 36% and Sherard spent NOTHING and got 35%.
Stuart Waldman -- Stu spent $535,000 and was obliterated (53% to 21%) By Bob Blumenfield who spent $482,000
Barry Groveman AD 41 - spent and astonsihing $1.1 million to lose 35% to 27% to Julia Brownley who spent $519,000.
Adeena Bleich - LA CD5, spent the limit and finished a weak 3rd behind Koretz and Vahedi.
Look at the expenses in say the Groveman race if you want to see how Shallman makes so much money.
Hacopian WILL NEVER WORK IN THIS TOWN AGAIN.

Not true, Berman has told CD2 staffers he has been let go.
It good that PK didn't take him up on his offer because I think Shallman is a sleaz bag. But, I am sure PK would never have approved of those disgusting mailers and they would have probably parted ways.
Shame on Essel for allowing them. she should have sanctioned him and apologized if she didn't approve of them before being released. But, that doesn't seem like a possibility because they were released at different times. She should have had confidence in her own qualifications and not resort to such underhand tactics. People like me are turned off by such antics!
I will be watching the upcoming races closely and I won't vote for anyone who pulls those stunts. It has to stop because it is setting a very bad example for everyone.

So what if he sent a nice to to Krekorian? That was way before he would have done any opposition research to find out how bad a guy Paul really is.
The fact that he was interested in speaking with all the candidates running for Wendy's seat, the seat he won last time against Cardenas, shouldn't surprise anyone.
Doesn't make him for Krekorian, just makes him out to be a guy doing his due diligence to get behind the right candidate.
Actually, the fact that he was interested in the candidate with the least funding undermines the point that he's only looking for the highest paycheck.
Tom has not been fired, he is a political superstar and a total fox.

People don't get fired on the day before the election. You've just undermined every negative comment on this blog. If you want to help Paul, stick to the truth or make charges that can't be so easily disproved.
Not only is Berman still Essel's guy, but he is an authentic a valley guy raised in Sherman Oaks and is working hard to defend CD2 from Krekorian's hateful campaign run out of Burbank. Shame on the Krekorian-tards for making up this rumor.
Tom berman is definitely still with the Essel campaign. Burnside's been signed on all along for GOTV. Tom's done amazing work on the campaign and will be celebrating victory tomorrow night.
I've worked with Tom Berman on elections in the past. He has not been fired - Team Essel is lucky to have him!

Paul made it all up after Shallman refused to be the consultant for his campaign.
Shallman refused to sign him after he made sexist comments about Chris Essel.

Hmmm, let me get this straight. If you don't hire Shallman, your opponent will raise more money, get more support from labor and law enforcement, and you will be politically disembowled (like William Wallace at the end of Braveheart) by a relentless mail campaign that (fairly or unfairly) defines you as an untrustworthy and corrupt. One might think about hiring him next time.
