More "Big Insurance" Money for Paul Krekorian, Correction!!, Chris Essel??
" What else does CD 2 Candidate Chris Essel have to hide?" A little lesson in political hypocrisy from none other than Chris Essel.
It seems that Chris Essel's highly-paid campaign assemblage of Shallman, Berman, Burnside, Wesson III among others, have the proclivity to tarnish their challenger, Paul Krekorian, as being the captive vessel of "Big Oil", "Big Labor", or did you say "Big Insurance"? They did.......

After accepting more than $15,000 from the insurance industry, Krekorian voted to allow insurance companies to raise our rates. He even voted to allow insurance companies to install spyware satellite devices in our cars that would violate our privacy by tracking and recording our every movement -- where we go, where our kids go to school, and how fast we drive twenty-four hours a day.4 We do not need another City Council member who will sell our interests to the highest bidder.

But it seems that the Essel Campaign will accept money from anyone, during the waning days of incessive mailings. From the Ethics website.

B. Irv Rubin of the "JDL", but he is dead, disregard.
C. Some obscure Insurance Company in New York??
D. Noone cares.........
Answer is.........., The Rubin Group "Insurance" of New York.
I find it fascinating that some "political flavor" of the moment, can smear an entire industry, for real-time political value, but in these days of instantaneous fact-checking, the smear is on you!

Rubin is Fronting for Alan Casden, another big developer for Essel. Developer Casden attempted to get the city to change zoning rules so he could build 300 condos directly across the street from the Grove shopping center, a move criticized by neighborhood groups as a back-door maneuver that they fear will worsen the area's already extreme traffic congestion. There was an agreement that called for 216 units for seniors, including 43 reserved for low-income residents to built there instead. Casden has tried to deep six that agreement. Casden also evicted a whole complex of senior citizens in West LA. These are the type of big money interest attempting to buy this election for Essel.
And don't forget Casden was the guy that made the illegal campaign contributions to Jack Weiss and got caught. Casden was having his employees make the contributions and then reimbursed them, to go around the campaign limits.
Jack Weiss claimed he didn't know what was going on (yeah, right) and refused to return the illegal money as well as the matching funds the City gave him.
you mention a lot of names as supposedly being behind Essel. Do you have any evidence any of them are involved with this latest mailing. I know Berman is neutral, but you throw his name in. What about Wesson? I haven't seen his name on an endorsement list.
