Is Paul Krekorian already running for State Senate??

A well-known City blogger says he has sources that put the Burbank Assemblyman in the contest for the 21st District Senate seat in the near future. The sources say that Krekorian plans to run for the spot when it is vacated by Senator Carol Liu when she leaves the position.

But isn't Krekorian running for Los Angeles City Council? Will he cost the taxpayers millions more in yet another special election?

Hmmm. Interesting. Any Krekorian supporters care to dispute these sources??

Carol just got elected less than 2 years ago. She is in the first term and would not vacate until 2016. Are people in CD 2 worried about a special election again 6-7 years from now? Give me a break. I do not live in CD 2. I am however, a big Carol supporter.

This was Alvin Parra's accusation against Huizar in 2007 - that he was just going to jump out and start running for Fabian Nunez' spot in the assembly.

He didn't, either. It's an easy lie to tell about every politician, because they're all, always on the move.

They're all, always looking for their next position. They have to be.

If you had a job with an end date certain, lousy "unemployment" benefits, and the opportunities to move to other similar jobs only came along at odd intervals, you'd do the same damn thing -- keep you eye on the traffic in the next lane in case someone comes to a screeching halt in front of you. It's just self preservation.

Bozo Jennerjahn!

He'd be a fool not to look at other options. But, he'd be a bigger fool to leave the more lucrative City Council job, anyway, just to take a flyer on another state position he might lose. If you say that's what he's planning on doing then he IS a fool.

(And a "fool" is beating your candidate, Jennerjahn. What does that make her?)

But it's interesting that you think such a move would cost L.A. city "millions" for yet another special election.

Nice concession speech there, on Essel's behalf.

Does she know you're admitting here to Mayor Sam's readers that Krekorian will win?

(Don't cash that "campaign consultant" check from the Essel people just yet. My "sources" say they'll probably want it back after they read this bottlecap).

THAT nearly $200 grand is the big feature that makes being a CM in L.A. a prized fallback post for any other career politician termed or voted out.

Short of a homicide with video, nothing will ever get a CM to voluntarily resign for doing wrong. Getting caught in the cocaine habit didn't bring any call for that amongh fellow CMs. The City Attorney turned in false reports and more and he served his term.

Can you spell more of the same downtown control and corruption? Yes, it's:

Local 18 Water and Power Defense League(IBEW)- $107,956.

Internation Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 11 PAC - $9,715.

Actually he's getting a lot done because he's going between Sacramento and LA all the time NOT neglecting his duties. Perhaps if you paid attention to some of the recent legislation and activity, you would see that Paul has been very active in his role as an Assemblyman.

And to your ? about what do the neighborhood council people know anyways, well, many of us live in his Assembly District- we see what he's done for us as our Assemblyman, and if we're out there supporting him, it's because we know how good Paul Krekorian is as a leader and how sincerely and doggedly he will represent his Council District when he becomes our Councilman.
