Speaking of funny people, ZD has a HI-LAR-IOUS piece that it looks like he wrote on a very lonely and cold Saturday night.
He blames his financial situation, and the fact that he isn't rich and famous on, are you ready?, COURTENEY COX, ADAM SANDLER and CARMEN TRUTANICH!
Is that wild, or what? According to ZD, he was at a party at Courteney's home and they were all mimicking him, and being very nice. ZD thinks that therefore they should have included him in their projects, and that they stole all of his ideas. It sounds like ZD will take credit for anything successful, up to and including the Dodgers moving to LA.
Anyways, it is a very funny, very angry rant. And he is now looking for a full time chiropractor who'll work for free for a year. But he is still doing the same "I'm in pain, I'm hungry, and my diaper is wet" routine, that he will drop at any moment, and then you'll all BE VERY VERY SORRY THAT MY DEATH WAS CAUSED BY YOU!
It's not as funny as McIntyre or Conway, but ZD does have a way with words, especially since he's considering killing himself again.
I know of at least 410 people who care. But none of them care enough to donate a dime.
Enough of these recycled hacks who meddle in politics without knowing what they're talking about. First he turns his show into an informercial for Trutanich then he realizes that Trutanich is a fraud and tries to expose his having used Chick to get her endorsement with a promise he never intended to keep, how he's irrational and a bully to tell Greuel that he's the one suing her but she has to use his office to defend herself. In essence, "do what I tell you or I'll ruin you," since he's "sitting on an arsenal of lawyers" in Doug's words, and is more intent on having his way than doing what's best for the city which would have been to settle the fee. A fee Doug offered to help pay off just to end this - but TRU is all about himself.
Doug also joined the rightwing kooks in blaming the city and Jack Weiss for the Shaw case, when it's a matter of the County jails and County DA, which is Baca and Cooley - but hey, don't let facts get in the way of ratings. These people who rant about things they know nothing about mislead the public, the kinds of gullible folk who listen to them because they're afraid of the real world.
Doug probably would find a sympathetic fanbase on KFI, however since he's too rightwing for KABC but KFI is the OC home of Minutemen and Walter Moore. And a lot of people on this blog.
yea Doug is so right wing he voted for Barack Obama. No one knows more about local politics other than Kevin James. Certainly hardly any of our local print or electronic "journos" or even Westside bloggers.
And KFI is the home of this blog? Don't think so since we've taken most of their hosts to task many times.

I've never met him, but from what I glean from the radio, McIntyre is an intelligent man and a straight shooter. I've yet to hear him jump off the deep end on any subject.
As for the Weiss defender who doesn't dig Doug, Jack caused all of his problems by giving the media loads & loads of material for hating his guts.
You are clearly unaware that Jack conducted HIMSELF like a jerkoff for years in City Council. Forget about really REALLY bad policy; he was a jerk and his COLLEAGUES hated his guts.
Don't blame McIntyre for that. He was just calling it the way most of us (at least most of us voters) saw it. That's why Weiss lost to a guy who was a virtual no name.
I read that Zuma post from last night and the first commenter is right. Zuma is blaming every A-List celeb for all of his troubles, thinking that because he was invited to David Arquette's birthday party, he was going to be Adam Sandler's new discovery.
I can picture Zuma Dogg years from now, never having died, and still staking out the big trials of the future and dancing behind the local reporters, demanding that they report on how Courteney Cox and Adam Sandler and Carment Trutanich done him wrong.
Higby, please send someone over to Spring Street where Zuma is laying on the sidewalk, and ask them to change Zuma Dogg's diaper.

I agree with 219. The ZD thing about his dying unless we "donate" money is getting tiresome. He is just not cut out to be a famous person or politician, so he wants the rest of us (even those who like him) to pick up the slack so he won't be homeless. We all have to work, and he thinks he is above working at kinkos and staples where, by the way, the offer great benefits. He could even get a job at one of those in downtown so he is close to city hall. He finally seems drained of all of that bravado.
Personally, I think he is a genius, and hope he hangs in there. But it is getting tired to hear him say how often he is told he is a genius, but one sentence later, he's begging for money. Can you say disconnect?
The difference between Zuma blaming the Arquettes and Sandler for his problems and Trutanich is, they never promised him a job while Nuch did. And Zuma spouted off in public comment and his blog for Nuch, while he could have done it every day of the week for the actors and it would have just made him sound more nuts.
Big difference. But of course he's allowing himself to be used. Anyone who fools someone with his personality, lack of education and delusions into thinking he can be anyone important is just lying.
Good to hear Doug on a local station again, even if just subbing. The local issuea, aside from being covered very nicely by Doug and Kevn, don't get covered at all by any one else either very regularly or even accurately on TV or radio.
Consider: where have you heard local candidates for office when election time comes around? (And don't count Patt Morrison's oh-so-light-and-feel-good "interviews," here... approaching, almost arriving, at a Larry-King-style of inspection of the politicians in the news.
Does anyone notice that when there's negative views about most things, here McIntyre and James, there's usually not anything presented as a preferred counter or alternate action to what is being criticized. The negativity
is too intense to allow any constructive consideratons to fit into the same thoughts, and that's just a characteristic that demonstrated over and over on this and other blogs.
Oh, and why do the (anti-)Zuma Posters feel compelled to add in ZD items on whatever is the newest thread on MS, no matter how much it's not related to the theme?
Well, it's nothing new, either, just something more obvious at times like right here than at others.

ZD is the biggest ingrate, and his public exposure would have been virtually zero (unless you consider public access tv and channel 35) without this blog. Time and time and time again, he lashes out at you, arguably the person who discovered him.

Doug's return to local radio, if only as a 'sub' is sending a shiver of chills through the lone Jack Weiss lover who blogs crap whenever he or she can.
3:50pm had it right in saying that Weiss gave an almost limitless number of opportunities for the media to nail him for being a corrupt, morally bankrupt opportunist who manipulated the rape kit crisis to suit his political ends and massaged his woeful lack of legal experience to make koolaide drinking democrats think he was a Supreme Court Justice, instead of a two-trial novice. Weiss was unfit to be anything other than a cheesy lobbyist who sells out to the highest bidder.
Whatever Doug's view is of the City Controller dispute, which is becoming clearer and clearer now that the City Council has figured out that all it is about now is paying off a bill that belongs to Laura Chick, Doug most certainly would not agree that the voters made a mistake in sending Jack Weiss into political oblivion.
I only hope Doug and Kevin are able to shed a little light on Weiss's latest attempt to be appointed to run the DWP under the guise of him being an environmentalist. Weiss was and will remain one of the most disgusting examples of insider dealings and giving him control of the DWP is insane.
Perhaps Doug and Kevin (and MS?) could also find out why Weiss's former Deputy Chief of Staff got awarded a $146k no-bid contract at the Airport? Cronyism? Partisanship? Reward for being the deep throat in Weiss's campaign? Whatever the reason, it does not appear to be based on qualifications.
Anytime anything connected to Jack Weiss comes up, there's always something that stinks that goes along with it. Doug, Kevin and MS are vital to outing Weiss antics and other City Hall antics.
I am pissingi in my pants and the newest zuma post. He's comparing himself to Cobain, Morrison, Elvis and ranting that virtually all of reality tv is due to people stealing his ideas, and that he was doing it before them all. I guess he never heard of the Real World, which started about 17 years ago.
I've never heard an able-bodied person whine so much about what's wrong, yet he doesn't accept the help that is offered to him. My wife offered 20 dollars to him the other day, but he attacked her because she had the nerve to say that she didn't know how to use PayPal. Can you imagine that nerve? The hell with it. I know that 20 dollars isn't an earth shattering amount of money, but it's still money and can go a lot way if you're smart about it.
Look, I don't know what happened with these celebrities, but if they're all treating Zuma the same way, then he needs to look inside to find out what it is about himself that turns them all off.

I am joining the ranks of the many who think you are an ingenious, creative artiste who will not let the entrenched political system beat him down. You have enough connections in city hall and plenty of people admire you. All you need to do is knock on a few more city hall doors and you'll find the right job for you. City Hall is your home, and it's where you were born to work, in a paying job of respect for your outstanding analysis of why our city is going down the toilet. When are you coming back? What I have never heard is why ZD doesn't get a job in radio? If he was as good as he says, wouldn't he have the connections to get at least a weekend shift at one of the major stations?
If McIntyre is in NY now, and doing LA stations remotely for the time being, why can't a local guy with all that talent get in there?

October 04, 2009 9:26 PM: When you look at the history of my character and what I was doing, I didn't plan on hanging around city hall and didn't plan on this course. So I didn't want to "take off" the ZD character, just for city hall, but it was an extension of the show and character. But then it just got down to activism, and I did evolve and tone things down all throughout, until the final process this past campaign season. And of course, it kinda ended up pulling the plug on it all.
933, haven't been in malibu for a long time for exactly that reason. when i started making the trips downtown, i ended up just sleeping in my car to be closer, cause it was too far a drive for a quick turn around like that, and it was the beginning of the homeless streak, which i never got out of.
937, no rouse. I was a programmer, not on air. And it was in top 40, not talk radio. and the industry doesn't work like that. any gig i would get in talk radio (and i am not getting one, and never will, and i can assure of that, cause a bunch of slots are being filled with recycled losers like frosty and frank on kabc. i know you think it works that way, but at this point, i really wouldn't need connections in the industry for a radio gig. ask david hall, is all i can say. AND IF YOU WANT TO CONFIRM ZUMA DOGG'S RADIO CAREER IN NEW YORK AND ALL OVER, DAVID HALL KNOWS ABOUT IT. It's not a mystery. Ask Don Barret at LARadio.com. Ask Dawn the sales head at LA Times. Zuma Dogg if it is getting cold and darker early isn't it a better idea to go to the Fred Jordan Mission or the Midnight Mission? There is food, medical and safety and it's very clean too. Peter Tilden's got Jason Alexander from Seinfeld, the Reunion, on this morning - people like this, wouldn't go onto a show with a rightwing kook like McIntyre. Sure Doug is not as bad as that bigoted liar on KRLA and not as obnoxious and maybe funnier than Jon/ken on KFI, but that's it.
KABC wants to take advantage of the ABC network and guests who wouldn't do Doug's show or associate with his rightwing views. Give Peter time to develop and the word to get out that it's no longer rightwing central, so "tune out if you're not one," or not old and cranky -- with time ratings will soar.

If ABC, the network, had any misgivings about McIntyre, they wouldn't have him working in the #1 market in the nation.

Doug McIntire is not a right-wing wacko; this term is more often than not used by left-wing lunatics. Having listened to McIntire, he was a voice of reason; criticizing Republicans just as much as Democrats. Kevin James did likewise when Republicans had control of Congress. Neither of these hosts were fans of George W. Bush.
In regards to the rape kit backlog, it was not first talked about by Kevin James, rather it was the Los Angeles Daily News which broke the story and KRLA talked about it.
If you don't like hosts who lean right, then listen to the public radio stations which lean left or listen to 1150 AM.
