Oct 1st deadline passes. Recall now possible.

An important deadline passed yesterday as Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa served his 90th day in office of his second term. He is now legally eligible to be served with recall papers.

I will start drafting the 300 word version of the complaint, however, I invite Mayor Sam readers to beat me to the punch and come up with their own versions. Put your own version in the comments section.

For more detail, revisit the subject here.

You've had all this time, Phil, and you're going to submit only 300 words?

Your average post on Mayor Sam is longer than 300 words!

What have you been doing all this time? We already know you haven't been collecting signatures.

What gives? And a straight answer would be preferred over your usual immature response. I'd like you to be successful, and was hoping that you'd have been much better prepared than this.

Go get him, Phil. But you're already starting from behind the starting line.

How many signatures do you have? Don't you need several hundred thousand of them?

And if you call us Peanut Gallery one more time, I'm gonna bitch slap you the next time I see you, and don't think others won't, too.

While you're at it, you could also gather a few signatures to get justice for the People v. Roman Polanski

"Teenage Rape Survivor's petition asks for no preferentail treatment of Polanski. Calls him a coward who fled thinking he was bigger than the country who gave him the fame he so much enjoys. I signed it. Hope you do too."

It's bad enough that you are politically tone deaf and have no experience; do you have to air it out so we all can see it it?

Have you and Schmaltzenburger ever been photographed together? I'm beginning to think you are one and the same guy you act so stupidly.

Phil will get thousands of signatures
from the tourists on Hollywood Blvd where he works as "Spiderman" in front of Mann's Chinese.

Phil is woefully unprepared to gather signatures that are valid.

I have to admit, it is amusing to watch Phil set himself up for sheer and utter embarrassment. If only he recognized that HE is the embarrassment.

Signed,

An AV hater.

I'm sure that Phil will find some way to blame his lack of signatures on the Libruls.

Stop picking on Phil.

He's here for our entertainment. don't you remember - he listed his occupation as "entertainer" when he ran for mayor. How how about giving him some applause.

I like Antonio. I wouldn't sign anything for a recall for him. Don't waste your time on that. He'll be gone soon enough. Focus. Focus. Focus. There is a lot to be done and a recall is a terrible waste of time.

shut the hell up all you whiner crybabies. All you do is complain about the gang banger Mayor not doing a good job, the mess of the city, the budget deficit but all you do is sit on your asses and complain. Good for Phil at least getting the dialogue started. I don't think there will be a problem collecting signatures because people are pisssed and have had it with the politicians of LA. They are nothing more then a bunch of lazy ass, illegal loving bafoons. If Doug's effort to cut their salaries in 1/2 is gaining steam then surely those same people will be happy to sign Phil's recall effort.

The Mayor should be recalled because knowing the illegals have shut down clinics in Los Angeles, over crowded our schools, cause major traffic, break our laws, carry Mexican Flags disrespecting AMERICA, illegal vending all over Los Angeles he still wants them to be counted. Yeah right!!!! Its time the people of Los Angeles REVOLT. RECALL VILLARAIGOSA. The Mayor is so stupid he aligns himself with a so called cardinal who refused to help authorities find pedophile priests. Mahony is a hypocrite of the Catholic church.

KFI...City and religious leaders in Los Angeles say they want to make sure illegal immigrants participate freely in next year's census. "Each and every one of us must stand up and be counted and assume our rightful place in America's story," Mayor Villaraigosa says. Villaraigosa joined Cardinal Roger Mahony, who says illegal immigrants shouldn't worry they'll be deported. "I want to assure you that the census is confidential," Mahony says. Mahony says an accurate count of Hispanics in L.A. means more political clout for them. It also means the city will get more federal money for the community.

A recall of Ed Reyes would be better. At least Mayor V does something and can think and talk. And, I am not sure that is a good thing either.

Ed Reyes can not even do that.

Dear Naive Phil:

It's impossible for you to do this without paid signature gatherers or a well-organized army of volunteers. Do you have those people ready to go? Will you able to gather up all those supporters you organized for your mayor's race?

Where is my long winded post from last night that dealt with the racist (yes, definitely racist) bitching about the Catholic Church for pushing the most important Census on ALL of the residents of the city whether they are illegal or not. You're talking about much needed Federal money and it doesn't matter if there are illegals. What matters is that they are counted. So we can get that fair share that you Valley people are always moaning about. It's about the numbers of people being accurate so that the money we receive is accurate. Or should..say.. Texas count their illegals accurately and get more money than us? What do the two have to do with each other? You don't see the connection? The census is reaching out to everyone for an accurate count. Not just churches. Don't let your racism come back and slap you in the head.

I bet any first generation immigrant who is taking English in high school can spell buffoon properly.

Anyone care to engage in a gentleman's bet?

I say there is no way whatsoever Phil can mount a successful campagin to recall Mayor Villaraigosa.

If phil know anything about politics he would know that a failed recall campaign that doesn't get enough signatures turns into a strong endorsement for the candidate.

So, Phil the law of unintended consequences kicks in and you are making him stronger!!

Way to go Phil!! You know how to get things done!!

Phil:

Popular wisdom says that when one finds oneself in a hole, one should seriously consider putting aside the shovel and stop digging.

The only important recall of recent memory is Gray Davis and that was fueled by millions of bucxs from Darral Issa to fund the signature gathering and get it off the ground and millions more from Arnold when he decided to run.

Who is going to fund your effort?

Zuma, Matt Dowd, Mike Hunt, Spidey?

To avoid looking any more foolish than you already do, I suggest you remove the whole thread and see if maybe you can get traction for some other worthwhile endeavor.

Unless you catch The Mayor with a dead girl or a live boy, he will whomp your sorry ass into wishing you never heard of the word "recall".

Remember, Nick Pacheco and his motley crew tried a recall when Antonio was a Councilman, and never even filed a single signature; if they couldn't do it there, where will these signatures come from?

Gove it up, loser, it ain't about to happen.

As a Councilman, Antonio hadn't done the damage he is currently responsible for.

Crappy schools, budget-destroying Socialist policies, ignoring the damage of illegal immigration...etc...etc...

But the WORST thing he did?

He pissed off multiple unions.
These people were his only support.
They can mobilize thousands against him.

Maybe it will happen...maybe it won't.

But there IS going to be a discussion about it.

Polanski should fry. Most people have no clue who he is. And, it does not matter who he is.

He got away with a terrible crime. He needs to pay. Rich people can not get away with their crimes.
