Another Conservative, Another Scandal!

Why is it always the Family Values, bible-thumping, conservatives that get caught with their pants down?

Personally, I could care less what Duvall does in his free time, however, there's a big conflict here. Miss "Eye Patch Underwear" turns out to be one Heidi DeJong Barsuglia, a long time lobbyist that is currently on the payroll for San Diego based Sempra Energy. Assemblyman Duvall, who represents portions of Orange County sits on the Assembly's Committee on Utilities & Commerce. Sempra Energy, of course, has a big interest in this committee's actions. Is this the case of a lobbyist going above and beyond in order to influence a vote? Is Duvall voting with his Johnson instead of his brain?

Oh the scandal! Oh the hypocrisy! Just how low can a lobbyist go?

I'll get angry as soon as I can stop laughing.

Isn't that hitting below the belt Mr. "You shouldn't say liberals hate freedom."

Seems it's okay for YOU to do it to conservatives, but why can't we mention the freedom-hating liberals?

Joe, you completely miss the point.

The point is that you attacked Phil for writing how he feels about Democrats.

You needn't make your point to me. You are entitled to it. But in the same way you shouldn't attack Phil for having his.

I still think you are a candy-assed dope but I respect your right to write what you want. And you should let phil do the same.

That "eye patch underwear" has its limitations in performing the duties for which it was intended: Fatso Duvall talks about how she said she was leaking all the way up the stairs afterwards, turns him on. I agree with Joe B that it wouldn't be appropriate to mention this if he didn't say it out loud in assembly chambers and if one of the women weren't a lobbyist. (I think media's going overboard though by naming her - they only tracked her down because the big fat idiot blurted out her birthday and company, too, so they got hold of her employee records. That sucks.)

Good for him. He did the right thing to quit.

All guys that can not keep their pants up and be loyal to their spouse should quit their jobs.

But then rooms would be left empty. The mayor should have quit his job too.

6:45, your simplistic moralizing and reducing this to that level misses the point of WHy this is news. How about you just get some stones to toss at adulterers like in Iran or Sudan, or at least sew on Big "A's?"

It it weren't a lobbyist AND if he didn't advertise it in chambers AND if he weren't a holier-than-thou bible-thumping Republican AND if he didn't oppose gay marriage and other laws on "moral" grounds, this fat slob's sex life would be none of our business. Above all, he's just too stupid to be a making our laws - he's right up there in Phil-land with "Hitler was a far left Socialist" proving those liberals are behind everything bad.

As a poster on LAist alludes to with respect to this very story, the revelation of this story is suspect, as it is possible said lobbyist had relationships with other assemblymen who are running for office.

I am not saying there is any connection at all, but check out this goofy picture:

Breaking News

Another scandal is about to break.

Not of the sexual variety.

But on the par of the Tamar Galatzan using LAUSD funds to pay for mailers.

Looks like Paul Krekorian did . . . the exact same thing.

The e-mail should be posted here, unless Higby is so hopelessly biased / bought off.

It is very clear. Paul Krekorian is using government funds to promote his campaign. Shallman, where ar thou?

When it comes to scandals, unlike Democrats, we Republicans demand resignations rather than reelections.

Gerry Studds and Barney Frank immediately come to mind.

Do John Edwards, Antonio Villaraigosa, Gavin Newsom, Bill Clinton, Gary Hart, Barney Frank, Gerry Studds, Jesse Jackson, and Elliot Spitzer all qualify as "bible-thumping conservatives"?

Or is it that their pants were never up in the first place?

Duvall got caught. Don't you wonder how much more of this is going on by those who haven't yet been caught? The fact that he was talking so freely about it in a committee room may be a clue that this is a commonly acceptable behavior.

I wonder if the religious right was as upset about our impressionable school children hearing Mr. Duval's comments on television, as they were positively scared to death of school children hearing some encouragement from the President on television.
