Looks Like Valley Glen is not Chris Essel Country
Yet another neighborhood leader refusing to board the Chris Essel bus:

I am supporting Paul Krekorian for Wendy Greuel's C2 seat. I believe that if he had been our Councilman during our fight against the Barbara Ann Apartment development, the developer would not be nearly as far along as he currently is. He probably would not have even poured the concrete in the first place. We need a Councilman who is going to fight for us.
With less than 50 days to go until the Sept. 22 City Council election, Paul Krekorian needs our help. Downtown lobbyists are trying to buy their way into this campaign and we need to help him fight for the Valley’s fair share.
Today, Friday, August 8, is the next fundraising reporting deadline for the campaign and it is very important we show everybody how strong this grassroots movement is to reform Los Angeles and make it work for us.

It appears that Krekorian is getting the bulk of community support in CD 2. Essel's got her corporate cronies and westsiders. But nobody seems to like Tamar. What gives?
None of the areas in CD 2 seem to be Essel Country. She's a woman without supporters.
She needs the money from the overpaid council position to maintain her current lifestyle.
I hope someone grills her at that debate tomorrow about neighborhood councils and Council File Index numbers.

I hope that all the folks that are concerned about Essel's SB1818 stance, will ask Assemblymember Krekorian where his bill to kill or amend SB1818 is? Because in the 3 years he's been up there he hasn't lifted one finger to repeal it. Something he actually had the power to do. Or maybe he didn't know it was such a big concern, because he's never really been interested in local LA politics until recently.
Hopefully PK or his supporters will be able to explain or reconcile that here or at the forum tomorrow.
While your at it why not ask PK why he supported the bill to reduce penalites against gang members who force our kids to enter the gang life even when it is under the threat of violence to them or their families. Reducing it to 12 months from 16 -24 is a reduction. Which one of the gangs in north hollywood would stand to gain by such a bill, when they are right in the middile of power struggle needing more recruits.

The headline is clearly bias against Essel, but it is just a support letter. Means people are not supporting Tamar. Looks like the admin is bias and not providing equal say. Shame. Shame. Bloggers this is uncalled for. The headline has nothing to do with the support letter. Should we post all of the pro-Tamar letters and headline it with "Krekorian isn't all he is Kracked Up To Be."
She is a woman with tons of supporters!! She goes to nearly all of the NC meetings too!
I'm especially impressed by the number of state legislators who endorsed Assemblymember Krekorian. Legislators who have no problem taking away local control of land use decisions from local communities.
So do all of those neighbors/community members also support state run land use decisions rather than local, as evidenced by all of those legislators who brought us SB1818 and work even today to keep it alive?

I wonder what Jimmy Blackman and Robin Kramer are thinking of of their little Essel project in CD2.
They will have lots of explaining to do AV on this one.
There is no Essel country in CD 2 outside of Wendy's residence.
I doubt Chris knows where Valley Glen is. I suspect Paramount never had too many social parties in that part of the valley.
Vote for Mary Benson, our only "home grown" candidate and life long CD 2 resident who knows our district and has no baggage.
She's up to date on planning issues and other issues that are important to our communities. She won't be "bought" by anyone and believes in and will fight for "community rights"

Just listing a bunch of NC people who support a candidate means that the candidate might be beholden to all of them, like Vahedi would have been The same people who pushed for him had cobbled together a sham "Coalition of Homeowner Groups in CD5) which was really a political lobby for their OWN candidates, Vahedi and Nooch. They created the impression to the ignorant that they were just a legit grassroots group with an open mind, when they hosted their candidate forums, but they were all so rigged it was ludicrous. But the Slimes chose not to report on the truth
I don't see anything as orchestrated going on between the HOA's and NC's in CD2, partly due to lack of time to even try to organize it, but one has to realize that claiming support from these groups CAN be a lot more shallow than it sounds. It could be just a few board members. Ogatilibeften uniting over a set agenda.
ANYONE WHO VOTES FOR THESE HEAVILY FINANCED CAREER TYPE POLITICOS IS BRAIN DEAD. THAT'S WHY THIS CITY IS LIKE IT IS WITH LOST SERVICES AND DWP HIKES. IF IT KEEPS' GOING YOU'LL BE LIVING IN A GHOST TOWN. NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO FUNCTION HERE, ALL THANKS TO STUPID CHOICES OF POLICOS AND THERE SUPPORTERS. LOOK OUTSIDE THE BOX.
