Why today is a holiday...

Try to remember the importance of what happened today. 56 men stood up against the oppression of the British Empire and voted to give us our own country. These men were a little scared and nervous, because they knew the British government would probably try to kill them for this act of rebellion. They did it anyway...and Thank God they did. American liberty and its economic progress has improved the lives and secured the freedom of hundreds of millions of others around the world. It only took 56 men to change the future of the world.

That is why their names are on streets and buildings all over this country.

Let us also remember that the person most responsible for drafting this Declaration, Thomas Jefferson, probably did so with a very clear and creative mind compliments of the cannabis plant.

Didn't George Washington also have a healthy appetite for marijuana, even having his slaves grow a special plot for him?

While Phil is sitting here lamely trying to "explain" to us the meaning of the 4th of July and who streets are named after all over the US (except in LA), your SuperHero Trutanich is already screwing you idiot Kool-Aid drinkers.

The first thing he wants to do is create a private police force of 200 cops within the City Attorney's office, "and we'll give 'em cars, phones, etc." in other words all the stuff the LAPD has. You know, the LAPD we can't afford to fund, where we can't afford to hire 200 cops.

Check out witnessla.com as a start: Could (Should) the City Attorney Police the Police? Silly Celeste Fremon starts thinking it may be a good idea to duplicate what the Consent Decree's been doing, then thinks a little and scratches her head as comments roll in. As one guy says, your Nooch wants nothing less than to recreate the DA's internal police force (Cooley has hundreds of cops/ detectives working for him, collecting dirt for him too) and to work WITH/for Cooley at the same time. The two of them want their tentacles everywhere and also have infiltrated O'Brien's office. Trutanich would need a charter amendment to fully implement his (Cooley's) scheme/ dream, but is relying on Zine/ Hahn and others too brainless or too spineless to back them up.

He wants this private police force answerable to him and Cooley "to police the police," that is LAPD. He says he may be able to "find" the money for his 200 cops from "savings" in outsourcing lawsuits, but he campaigned promising any savings would go back to the city -- from where he gets the budget -- for other vital services like the real LAPD. Seeing as we are in a budget crisis and all.

Now the fools who realize what's happening are crying in comments on Daily News (Orlov's article on what Trutanich/ Greuel promise), "Foul! We didn't vote to create a 200 cop private force for Trutanich! He said he'd save millions of bucks for us!"

You suckers crying about cars for Deputy Mayors and this and that have SO been had, and it was SO inevitable. Get out your bandaids and checkbooks.

All thing's considered, this alternative beats that of having Jack Weiss as the City Attorney and being another of Antonio's "Yes" men. Maybe not better for Antonio, but better for the city.

We can see Antonio is still having trouble trying to shake that travelling jones and be the "more-than-11%-mayor"- and it's a good bet that the streets where he went aren't named for anyone from the American Revolution.

1:06pm You are a MORON. If you read the Daily News story you would know Trutanich wants transparency you idiot and said nothing about hiring 200 LAPD officers. Can't you fucking READ??
200 PEOPLE

....Among other changes he plans is creating a separate investigation bureau that could have as many as 200 people assisting the attorneys. He said the Los Angeles Police Department provides a team of 85 people to work with the City Attorney's office. But that raises questions about independence and conflict of interest if his office has to investigate the LAPD, he said.

4:48, How's the Kool-Aid? Maybe if YOU read the whole story, in the L A Times as well (excerpted in that witnessla.com thread) etc., instead of getting all your "facts" from Kevin James and McIntyred, you'd be less of a MORON (sic) yourself.

Why is the name of Jack Weiss coming up again? That little prick had been very nicely put in his place by the voters on May 19, and hasn't been seen since, except to rush through a few favors for his developer friends.

All the democrats are furious that they were screwed by the mayor and Bratton for supporting Weiss. There should have been a decent democrat (if there is such a thing) in the election to mount a serious challenge to Trutanich, but as usual, the lemming democrats put their money behind a phony corrupt political snake-oil salesman like Weiss.

Now the dems are running scared because Trutanich wants to clean up the rest of the corruption in Los Angeles - all the 'appointed' crooks who make themselves rich on the pensions committees - Kelly Candaele and his sort. These leaches are bleeding the city dry, and all the dems are worried that they lose power if Trutanich puts their corrupt heros in jail where they belong.

But Trutanich is wrong. Very wrong. It will take more than 200 cops to clean up this city. But sticking Weiss in jail is a good start. I can't wait for the day that he gets a taste of county jail. That arrogant prick needs a set of handcuffs soon.

And 1:06PM - didn't I tell you to go fuck yourself? All your democrat crooks are going to jail, so what's your deal? Are you the only coolaide drinker left?

12:04 a.m.: Which of Trutanich's nutjob newphews/ relatives are you?

Very eloquent as usual, from the sewers and backroom holes of pedro. You all look like the thugs you are.
"Didn't I tell you to go fuck yourself?" you charmingly ask someone who sees through you goons.

Yes, we're all waiting along with the old fools and rightwing wackos who drank Nuch's stinky Kool-aid (it's not spelled "cooleaid" but your clan isn't known for literacy, just being bullying goons) for the likes of YOU to "clean up" this town. We're watching, don't worry.
