Happy 4th of July!

If you want to see a 4th of July parade that embodies everything great about small town America, even in a City as large as Los Angeles, make your way up to Sunland-Tujunga on Saturday! This parade draws thousands and is a must see. The parade starts at 10am on Foothill Blvd @ Mt Gleason Ave. Get there early for a good view, bring your sunscreen and a folding chair.

There IS a "Chef Tell," as a matter of fact-- I think he's Swedish or something, maybe from Minnesota. I can almost picture him on the line of products he used to hawk, wearing a toque-- he's not making the OK sign, tho'--that's a different chef--that cartoon chef. On the other hand, I've seen Frank Sheftel in action a coupla times at the council meetings-- he's a real hand-wringing liberal; a "What about the CHILDREN??"-type. Not my cup of tea-OR coffee for that matter!

Seeing Frank in action at more than one City Council meeting says alot.

With the exception of Paul Krekorian addressing the council on the Armenian Genocide, who else have you seen in aciton at city council meetings?

When an individual takes the concerns of the community to the council, he is performing a public service, not wringing his hands. I might add he is doing it on his own dime.

When children are bing stuck in crosswalks because irresponsible drivers ignor speed laws and LAPD says their hands are tied unless they can use radar, we better have someone with enough cajones to challenge the status quo!

Just an observation.

Paul Krekorian was in the parade and he was pretty well recieved.

I saw Chris Essel at the parade, not sure if she marched in it. I think she was there talking to a bunch of people.

Paul was in the parade as the Assemblyman for the 43rd AD. Word today is he is still hedging his bet and polling the folks to see if he can beat Chris. He is speaking at the LA Apartment Owners Association on the 11th as an Assemblyman, not a council candidate. Must be nice to use tax payers money to promote yourself for another race.

7:58 or should we call you Chris staffer.

And where would Chris be in polling?

2 Percent to 5 Percent? at best.

If you do a poll today she would be lucky to in fourth place behind Paul, Tamar and Healy.

And as far promoting you on the public dime, i don't think the give away queen of the CRA has much room to complain about that.
