Morning Briefs and Outtakes on the Eve of Independence Day

"Gone to Africa with the book ??"
Are Tony and Lu off to Africa ??
At least we know that Mayor Villaraigosa has vacated his third floor confines for some "telepromptive speaking" and "R & R", but the mayor's chief spin-master is mum on whether girlfriend Lu Parker is along to provide some "tummy love".
And with both the Mayor and City Council President Eric Garcetti vacating the city, Councilwoman Jan Perry reigns as the acting head of the city.
Time to proclaim "Happy Fast Food Day" in the City of Angels.
Ron Kaye has some great inside information on the discussions between the City Council and the Employees Unions and the cost to you ?? You may not want to know.
One may remember the recent freeway shooting that killed the driver and lefted a expensive Bentley pockmark with multiple bullet holes.
Now speculation has this being a possible "hit" by a Mexican Drug Cartel.
****And lastly, we close with this rarity from CD-14, "praise for Councilman Jose Huizar".
Your thoughts...........
FREEDOM FOR ALL, FREE ENTERPRISE, AND HAPPY FOURTH TO ALL!!

This is a really disjointed post. What the hell are you talking about?

You ask if AV and Lu are out of town, but if you follow anything in the media, you'd know that it's not a question. They're both off to Africa. Why don't you know this?????

Phil sounds like his is very defensive about a very reasonable question.

Phil the filing for the recall isn't until October.

However you are allowed to gather signatures right now. If YOU are ignorant about this, then YOU should do some reading.

You have now lost more than six weeks on the signature gathering. You will ultimately give up realizing that you won't be able to get more than 100 totals because you totally underestimated the task.

What is the biggest riot is that you wasted money on getting domains and bragging about it at City Hall. People were laughing at you to your face. What an idiot. And you paid $25 bucks for a domain that should cost $1.99. Yes, you are a real fiscal maverick! Idiot!

He leaves the city as Jan Perry that arrogant idiot is in charge as acting mayor, meaning NO ONE is in charge. Zine of course is speaking out on "behalf" of the LAPD, really the PPL's Republican head Paul Weber, who hates his own Chief Bratton and is in a power play against him, and Zine hates Bratton even more now that he backed Weiss over the Republican because gee, he backed someone he knows and trusts.

So THIS is how Antonio's 2nd term starts - him in Africa with the beaming bimbo and Perry, Parks and Zine scratching their heads over who is going to pay the many millions it's going to cost to provide security for the huge Staples Center JAX memorial over 2 days.

ON TOP OF what it's cost to police the Bel Air mansion, the Encino home and Hollywood around the star plus Staples for a week already.

What's the bill so far? People made a stink over the $20,ooo it cost to escort Britney Spears to the hospital once but this is in the millions already. And will compromise the safety of the rest of the city, according to a report in the SLIMES. It's the Lakers parade's 1500 cops for half a day, over days or a week.

Idiot Jan Perry is even dumber than Antonio because she has no one smart even around her, while he at least has all those Deputy Mayors and Kramer to think for him.
Perry's an uneducated fat dummy whose claim to fame is banning fast food restaurants because she thinks the people in her district are too stupid to make good choices making them fat. (What's HER excuse? She's rich enough.)

All Perry can think of is to ask charity for the city, and say that surprise Joe Jackson the cheapskate (who got nothing in Michael's will) and the rest of them who did will pay nothing. WHY were they given a permit isntead of shifting it onto Santa Barbara/ Neverland, which doesn't want the risk? Who says LA DOES?

What about pushing the funeral into the desert, like Coachella? Turning it into a cost-making thing to recoup their expenses and security? It's a circus anyway, pretending dignity is absurd now.

The mayor knew the JAX funeral would be a problem but he AND Garcetti blew off without leaving any instructions or provisions. so we have haughty idiot Perry, who has dreams of running for Mayor, and Buffoon Zine instead.

What a nice couple they are. -- First he uses his daughter as a puppet at the inauguration and then he takes off nine days (with L.A.P.D. Security detail) on a trip to Africa (with his benefit?).

Nice way to hit the ground running right after the swearing-in during a fiscal emergency with a major memorial coming up on Tuesday. I hope Chief Bratton will be in town. Thank god we have "Nuch."

THE BIGGEST CLOWN IN THE NATION.

Antonio's security detail: $450,000 a year...An elected San Francisco supervisor has been agitating up there for details on the cost of Mayor Gavin Newsom's security detail, without much luck. Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, however, easily tracked down a number for the cost of assigning two LAPD officers fulltime to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa during the day and one at night. About $450,000 a year, he was told, per the Chronicle's Matier and Ross.

Huizar's "suprise move" was clearly fear of a revolution from his own constituents. The Friends of the Southwest Museum Coalition has done an excellent job of keeping concerned residents of Los Angeles and other cities up-to-date on the political machinations of Autry-Latham-Sugerman.

When the Coalition finally pulled the trigger on Villaraigosa/Huizar and actually asked the public to send in their thoughts via e-mail and fax, Villaraigosa/Huizar ran away from the Autry -- or at least appeared to be doing so at the Board of Referred Powers.

It is significant that Villaraigosa himself nor any member of his staff rose in support of the Autry project. Then, Huizar publicly got up and said: there needs to be a legally enforceable condition to preserve the Southwest Museum.

But Huizar, because he is incompetent, stepped in a pile of shit. He called upon Autry to take a 2007 memo from Autry CEO John Gray and make it legally binding. Now while that may have sounded good to some reporters and others, it's actually a very bad idea. Huizar, if he had bothered to consult with the community, should have called for Autry to make the restored museum plan its own experts proposed in 2004 the legally binding condition.

Autry representatives must have been screaming inside. Why? Because the "plan" set forth in the memo of John Gray from 2007 is not as economically viable as Autry's 2004 museum reuse plan that was endorsed by a team of experts. So, not only did Huizar politically flip when he saw the tsunami of voters coming at him, he chose the wrong PLAN -- a plan that no competent museum operator would ever want to try to actually carry out.

This demonstrates the idiocy of Autry management and Board of Directors. They put out the 2007 "plan" with no intention of ever implementing it. Now, City Hall has called Autry's bluff and said: "OK, you think your plan is great? Make it enforceable so we know you are serious."

Prediction: Autry and Huizar will be unable to make the 2007 "plan" enforceable because having just two rooms of exhibition is not something that Autry can charge $7 admission. So, if Huizar is now going to be successful, he has to force Autry to agree to downsize the expansion of the Southwest Museum exhibition spaces in Griffith Park AND commit to a full museum use at the historic Southwest Museum site.

This is probably why Latham's George Millstein got up at the end of the meeting and arrogantly proclaimed that Autry would not compromise its "vision" for Griffith Park. Autry is now blocked from going forward with its "all for me and fuck the rest of you" plan.

Because Villaraigosa and Huizar now know what they should have known before (don't cross a group of dedicated activists), Autry's project will remain imperiled until the Autry Board gives up on the current proposal.

Top the idiot moron that hasn't gotten it that a lot of what is posted on this site is not just bullshit but documented and insider stuff. This was reported in the LA Times to the moron who said Antonio doesn't take his LAPD secruity on vacation.

....As with other invited guests attending the event, Villaraigosa's travel expenses are being paid by the academy, city officials said. However, the city is paying the travel expenses incurred by the Los Angeles Police Department security detail that accompanies the mayor when he travels. When Villaraigosa vacationed in Reykjavik, Iceland, and London for 10 days last summer, the officers' travel costs were $10,650, according to city expense reports.
The mayor's spokesman, Matt Szabo, declined to provide details on the security detail or say whether Lu Parker, a KTLA-TV Channel 5 reporter whom the mayor is dating, accompanied Villaraigosa on the trip. Parker could not be reached for comment Thursday.
